How can I change the profile folders?

Original title: update of the user accounts, folders

Good afternoon.

How should be done to update the name of the folder of the user including the existing name a tiny, for example, change to a capital LETTER?

PS / file seems to have a kind of a lock on what keeps me, the owner of the PC, as well as the administrator, to change the name of the lower to upper CASE, as I mentioned above.

Thank you very much.

Brad

If the OP creates a new user profile and copies of the content of the personal files of the former, there is practically no risk involved. Copy files and folders of files user A to user B records is a simple task of Windows base.

As the OP's question seems to be an accidental use of lower case and as far as I understand the need to have the name of the username and profile folder, the same thing, the third in between the two is necessary.

The scenario without risk in this case is:

  • Create a new profile for the user (Administrator), for example Temp
  • Connect to the Temp of the user, to see that everything works
  • Copy the files and records of lowercase_username Temp (do not copy all system like AppData folders and others!)
  • Delete the lowercase_username account by selecting delete files
  • Reset
  • Create the profile of the end-user UPPERCASE_USERNAME
  • Copy the contents of the Temp user profile
  • Sign in to UPPERCASE_USERNAME
  • Delete Temp profile

No matter how many Google hits of various scenarios of problem we can find, a simple copy / paste action will interrupt, at least not so often that it is notable.

Please see image attached. Responses from the eyes of local folders as responses to the discussion groups. No signature or formatting options. How can I change the local folders meets regularly, as they are in the Inbox?

I don't think that the format of replies to the messages in the local folders are linked with focus groups or to individual account settings. As local folders can contain messages between several accounts or identities, it is more likely that formatting uses the setting of the account or identity appearing in the: field when you reply.

  • How can I change the name of the search engine in the search bar?

I just added the Oxford Dictionary to my list of search engines in the search bar. Only problem is that it does not say Oxford Dictionary. It says ONO.

How can I change the list of search engines, I can change the more evocative name?

Are there not such somewhere or an XML file that contains these entries?

Firefox gathers information about the plugins of research from two sources - the default searchplugins folder that is shared by all profiles Firefox (C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins) and the folder searchplugins in your active profile. They are combined into a data file named search.json.

I read a few threads on the net about the modification of these search plugins, and it seems to require some trial and error. Assume that the ONO plugin is in your profile.

Under help > troubleshooting information, you can click the open folder containing (pre-Fx12) or folder (Fx12) Show to open your folder of the currently active profile. Snap searchplugins. Here are the XML files you can edit in your favorite text editor. If you break one, you can probably just download again, but if you're a cautious type, go ahead and make a backup.

After the change the short name and save and close the file, change your probably not will immediately appear in Firefox because some trigger event may be necessary to update search.json. If the restart of Firefox is not enough, you can try to rename search.json before restarting, but this can cause you to lose the keywords that you have assigned through the dialog box handle the search engines.

In any case, it's all improvised that have not tried-TI-me-even, then I suggest to do some additional research.

  • How can I change the default topics listed in Windows Explorer?

When I look at the files in Windows Explorer there are positions that I find little use for me. I would like to change the default headings listed to display only those that I use most often as update, size, Type and Date of creation. How can I change the default settings for securities so that these topics, such as tags and side are not displayed?

To change the headers, right-click on the header bar, and click more.  You will see a list of options to be included in the header, and you can place about to adapt to your desires.  But they will not stick unless you modify the template for this type of file.  Procedures for this follow-up.

Here's how to change the default template for a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html.  Default behavior is to select the model based on the first type of file placed in the folder (you must choose something).  Vista sets the folder type template according to what are the types of files in the window and the settings display window Explorer. This will show you how reset the display settings of Windows Explorer folder (which is what I think you want), disable Automatic folder Type discoveryand increase the view of the folder cache to have Vista don't forget not the display, model of file type settings, the size or the position of a window for when it was still closed to the location of specific path.

It does not work with the Sub record under, Open with, open in a new tab (Internet Explorer), etc... dialog windows of type through the good File menu bar item. These don't seem to be able to have their size or their position to recall. For the latter, you can use the free program http://autosizer.en.softonic.com/ to resize them.

  • How can I change the attributes read-only or system files?

How can I change the attributes read-only or system files?

To view or to remove the read-only or system attributes, use the Attrib command at a command prompt:

    1. click the Start button, type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.

    2. to view the syntax for the Attrib command, Type attrib------? at the command prompt.

WARNING: If you remove the read-only or a file system attribute, it may seem like a regular folder and some customizations may be lost. For example, Windows customizes the Fonts folder and provides a special folder view that allows you to hide variations, such as bold and italics. It also allows you to change the display settings of the file in a way that is specific to fonts. If you remove the read-only attributes and the Fonts folder system, these custom display settings not available. For folders that you have customized by using the tab, customize the folder properties dialog box, the folder icon and other other customizations may be lost when you remove the read-only attribute.

If a program cannot save files to a folder with read-only, such as My Documents, change the read-only to the system attribute by using the Attrib command at a command prompt.

To remove the read-only attribute and to set the system attribute, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s drive:------------.

For example, to remove the read-only attribute and set the attribute to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command: attrib - r + s c:\test

Be aware that some programs may not work correctly with folders for which the read-only attribute and the system attribute are granted. You can use the following command to remove these attributes:

    attrib - r-s c:\test

  • How can I change the domain to a server of comment?

    Acrobat 9 on Windows 7

In addition to editing the registry, how can I change the URL of a comment server which I use for exams?

Earlier, I initiated a shared review but used only the host name of the server, not the fully qualified name (FQN) which includes the full domain name. Now, when I reuse this server for other comments that I initiate, I'm stuck with the unqualified name. People outside of my subnet cannot post comments on the server because the simple host name is not known on their subnet.

How can I change the properties of this server so clients use the FQN?

    Jerry

Yes, you can change the server name in the registry. After change, all the comments that you initiate with this profile will point to the new server location.
