How can I click on a link to open a new tab without switching to the new tab automatically?
I use my search engine Ixquick. When the result of the research is in place, whenever I click on a link, Firefox creates a new tab and change the focus of the page of search results on the page for the link that I clicked.
I want to have a new tab created, but I want to stay on the search results page to be able to continue by clicking on the other tabs of interest.
I'm new on Foxfire and this feature is very useful for me when I used Internet Explorer.
Any help will be appreciated.
Hi Kathy
You can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Hello
This is not possible out of the box, but you should look at some of the incredible Add-ons available for Firefox. I prefer one called new tab King, but there are a lot of great options.
For more information, just look at the article in the Knowledge Base to find and install add-ons to add functionality to Firefox .

Once it is open, it works fine. I can move the document or page without any problems, it's just the opening. This does not happen when it opens a new tab. Only, when it opens a new popup page. Same thing with Firefox from opening in the morning. I did the same process in IE and has not had the same problem.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

Also, make sure that your security software is blocking windows (pop-up).

This window looks weird: there are 2 blue bars (the blue top bar - normally, there are 1, with the name of the current page and - Mozilla Firefox written in white within the bar) as well as in the 2nd bar there is an orange firefox, on the left side button.
I already asked this question and advised to start in safe mode - that did not help either.
Please help me quickliy, it's really annoying.
Thank you

This happens usually a search engine (google) but sometimes go into a web page. Generally pages trying to sell something. It's very boring and tedious. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled.
Google has advertising locations in his research on the web, maybe you are clicking an ad?
Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.
More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .

It started recently and all the other suggestions do not work. So I will try to get a solution more up-to-date for this problem please help.
This affects all sites? If it affects only certain sites, could you give some examples?
Note: for Google, you can disable this on and off in the search parameters. Click on the "gear" (Options) icon, then the search parameters, and then uncheck the box for "open each result selected in a new browser window."

JavaScript windows do not appear after you click a link that opens a new window
When I try to click on a link that opens a new window (like to put an image in a Tumblr post or use an article on Neopets (don't judge me)), it will not. In the lower left corner of the page, it says "javascript:; ' or ' JavaScript: void ' or something like that.
In this regard (I think), Firefox only opens a new window, even if I press ctrl + N or manually, click on 'New window' in the menu.
Safe mode disables Extensions and themes (appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) installed > Add ons. Hardware acceleration is also disabled (the manual setting is in tools > Options > Advanced > general > use hardware acceleration where possible). You can try to isolate the cause of deactivation/activation of suspicious modules or try in groups.
