  I plugged an external hard drive to my new computer Windows 8 and playing an audio file, which opens the MUSIC app.  But now I want to disconnect the external computer hard drive, so I STOPPED the music (there is no STOP) and got down to 'probably delete the material and the media '.  Well, it won't let me not disconnect the external hard drive because it says that the device is in use.  There is no 'X' in the upper corner of the application to close them or end them or whatever it is and the ESC key does not work either.

  So, HOW can I close an app?  Especially one that is accessing an external HD media because there is no way to disconnect the HD safely while the application is still running.

  You just need to manually end the firefox process.

  1. open windows- (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) Task Manager

  Looks like the system size slider is set to another than Normal.

  Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences and less accessibility > display define the size of the cursor normal and see if that solves the problem.

  "Documents and Settings" is not a real file location, it is a junction point which has been built into Windows 7, so that old programs would be able to find.  He re - runs the program to the actual location of these files on Windows 7.  You can't do anything to it because it does not exist, except as a pointer.

  • You can display the classic menu temporarily bar by pressing Alt or F10 to access the file menu
  • There is also an icon of 'power' at the bottom of the graphic application menu (the one which is displayed by the button "3-bar" menu) If you prefer
  • If you closed a window and you want to re - open, go to the history menu and see a list of recently closed windows (by default, up to 3 windows closed are stored and can be re-opened - not applicable to windows private)
