How can I determine if my system runs Win XP Pro 64-bit?

I use Win XP Pro and works very well. I was wondering if I could run on my Pentium 4 3.04 Ghz, Northwood Hyperthreaded 64 bit version?

I tried the command systeminfo and it opens a window, reads my system and immediately closes before I can read the results. There is another parameter of the command line that would keep the window open?

Which is why upgrading to 64 - bit, I run a few games that would take advantage of my 4 gigs of RAM if I had the upgraded operating system, also think to come to upgrade my computer soon and wanted first to get the new OS first and get it to run, if possible. If I buy it and can not test to make sure I have a viable Microsoft OS and functional, I'll be stuck with it and no available return. It's probably a few months before I finished it to get parts for my new computer. I want XP Pro because I'm used to and because it has less bloating than the newer OS.

Thanks for your help!

Click on the link below and download SIW. Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the file to open the application. Once open scroll to the bottom of the list in the left pane and click on the symbol next to the material. The content will grow under hardware. Click info CPU. Information about your processor will be expanded in the right pane. There you will see the number of bits for your processor.

In general, with Windows XP, if you have to ask what architecture you are running: you are running Windows XP 32-bit.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions

    1. Click Start.
    2. Do right click my computer and then click Properties.
If you don't see "x 64 Edition" in the list, then you are running 32-bit Windows XP.
If "x 64 Edition" is listed under system, you are running the 64 bit version of Windows XP.

Another surefire Tip: If your system is fully patched and you have SP3 - you run 32-bit.  64-bit has only until a SP2.

  • Install an SSD in an Inspiron 3650 I7 6700 16 GB Ram 2 TB hard drive Amd R9 380 graphic and running Win 7 Pro 64-bit

    Hello:

I have the above referenced PC and want to add an SSD (boot with OS drive).  I would like to make this my c: drive ssd.  I want to keep the Windows 7 operating system.  I made the disarmament recovery disks I opened the PC.  I don't want to win 10.

Could someone with their infinite knowledge teach me throughout the procedure with pictures if possible?  What parts do need me if any?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

I thought I was doing a 512 GB SSD.  The system came with Win 10 Pro 64 bit installation floppies, but I'm used to and prefer to use Win 7.  The idea of cloning seems interesting.  In fact, it looks to the ticket.  What cloning software is recommended.  The priority of the boot in the BIOS change after cloning?  I am concerned with what type of SSD should I purchase (interface, transfer rate, etc.), what cables, if any, and which adapters will be necessary?

At work, I have all my computers run with SSD (OS/startup) and they run like rockets.  This new computer runs great, but with a SSD for the start, program files, "scratch disks", I'll be in the drive hyper.  I'd be in Mary for a bargain price.

Yet once again, thank you very much for you answer quickly.  I have several Dell optiplex computers in office and did not have a problem.

Thank you once again to Osprey

  • How can I set an automatic sleep period Win 7 Pro

How can I set the duration of sleep to a Win 7 Pro PC, for example go to sleep automatically an hour given while wake up automatically at a specific time?

This PC is basically unattended but files hosts used by the other computers on a peer-to-peer network.

Run this batch file to put the machine to sleep:

    ================================

    Powercfg/h off
    Rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState

    ================================

The Powercfg /h off command requires that the scheduled task will run with the highest privileges.

If you want to stop the computer rather than put it to sleep, use the command shutdown instead of the command of powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState rundll32.exe.

To start the computer it just create a simple task and go to the properties of the task a 'Conditions' tab, select the option to enable the computer to run the task.

Note that the condition of 'Wake computer' relies on the BIOS clock to wake the computer, the computer must support this (do most desktop computers), and the option must be enabled in BIOS power options.  When you enable the option in the BIOS do not allow the timer to all zeros, enter a manual setting any or although the BIOS is unable to activate the feature, Windows will overwrite the timer with the correct date & time when you started the scheduled task.

Note that a computer into hibernation do not wake to run a scheduled task.

Can I install Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 on a laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit OS?

    Thank you.

    Monir

Maybe you can too.  Do you receive an error message when you try?  You can also try to download and install Lightroom 2.7 http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Windows.  You can then enter your serial number once Lightroom 2.7 installed.

Once the command continues to go from LabVIEW.

I would like to be able to tell if the Windows Shell is running, so I can therefore wait until she finishes.

Is there a way to do this?

    I've identified a work around:

I changed my batch file to simply write in a text file results, as well as to write when the process is complete.

It's far from ideal, but it works for what I need it to do.

  • The HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 does support e-print? I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Can you please tell me: the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 does support e-print?  I can't find or generate or figure out how to create an e-mail address for this printer.  Thank you.

    Hello BoPeepLamb,

8600 printer OfficeJet does support ePrint. You can access the e-mail address of printers by allowing Web Services to the main display on the printer. The icon is located on the top left corner of the screen and looks like the sheet of paper with circles behind it. Before you can enable Web Services, you must ensure that you have a valid internet connection first.

Once you have enabled Web Services, you should have a print sheet mobile printing with a printer code and the link to http://www.eprintcenter.com where you can create an account and customize your e-mail address printers.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to reply to this message and I'll try to find an answer for you.

  • How can I move all win xp pro 64-bit programs old internal hard drive to hard drive internal nine win 7 pro 64 bit

I want to install a new internal hard drive of my computer, my old internal drive is running Win XP Pro 64 bit OS, the new drive will be Win 7 Pro.

Is there a method much less time to transfer programs from the old drive to the new?

I have both drives in the same machine to do the transfer. If you have a set of instructions please post them to send me the instructions.

    Thanks in advance

Sorry, but you can't do that.  When you move from one computer to another, you must reinstall all the programs.  This is because the parts of the program go to different places, and there are updates the registry involved as well.  There are also some activation to worry.  The last time, you can copy programs from one computer to another in the BACK long days long ago.

    Good luck.

  • Can I install Win 7 Home 64 bit on Win 7 Pro 32 bit

Current running Win 7 Pro 32 bit, need to upgrade to 64 - bit and can not really afford to pay the Tagus almost $300 price for Win 7 Pro 64.  What I peux/how to install Win 7 Home 64 bit on my machine?  Do not really need the Win 7 pro feature.

You must perform a 'custom' / pure install the 64-bit version because there is no "Upgrade" path

This means that you must back up all your important data (Documents, music, photos, video, Etc.) to external media. In addition, you will have to reinstall your applications once installed the 64 bit version of Windows, so round up all the media application you and product keys before you start.

Also create an image backup of your version of 32-bit as a fallback option just in case there are questions.

Then, download the device drivers 64-bit on the web support site you PC from the manufacturer and burn them on a CD.

Now you are ready to start the 64-bit installation.

No need to buy the home Premuim

If you have a business retail or OEM of Windows 7 Pro version, you can download the. Download Windows 7 proper. ISO file (must match for your product key version)

How to make a 'Keyless Install"of Windows:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc, you create and launch the installation.
