How can I determine what version of Firefox that I and where do I go to for updates.

Yahoo 'suggests' switch to Firefox 8. How do I know what version I have currently (there not 'Internet Options' under Tools) and where I go to find the updates down according to Yahoo?

Help > about Firefox = the version number is there.

In addition, you can type Subject: support in the Bat location and press ENTER, to get more information about your installation of Firefox.

  • How can I install two versions of firefox that run independently of each other?

I want to use an installation of firefox as a normal browser who remembers all the tabs I opened and a facility other than for viewing html files. I would like this second installation do not open all tabs from my previous session, do not load all plugins and the history of my main installation of firefox, but as the html file I want to open.

    Thank you

File associations are subject to operation of Windows and its "limits.

IMO, you need to have the profile that you want associated with the default profile HTML files. I'd do it by editing the profiles.ini file to change the default profile that is labeled as default = 1, , but someone else might have a method 'smooth'.
But then all you want to open in the default browser opens in Firefox with this 'profile HTML '. When you use Firefox as default browser in Windows, it will only use the profile marked in the profiles.ini file by default when the default browser is called to open.
If it seems absurd, don't blame me - I beat my head against the wall for nearly 10 years on this default browser / 'thing' default profile, every time I screw up a profile when the default browser opens the wrong profile, after, I was ' dicking with "several profiles. Of course, I brought that on myself by having too many versions of Firefox are installed and having too many profiles.

If it were me, I would use the 2nd, lightened profile and get used to using file > open file... and drilling through the file system of the Explorer to find the file I want to open and open the open a file dialog box.

Have you actually installed an antivirus application?

Look at the system of Notification area (next to the time display).  Place the cursor of the mouse on each of the icons (make sure to click the chevron pointing to the left if it is present to display all icons).  Each icon should have a pop up balloon, explaining that it is.

If one of the icons associated with your antivirus application, right-click and you should get a menu that includes an option to turn it off temporarily.  If a right click does not work, [to the left] double click it.

If none of the icons seem to be an antivirus application, follow these steps:

    1. open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    2. type the following lines in the black command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

    Tasklist/SVC > '% userprofile%\Desktop\MyTasks.txt '.
    output

    3. go to your desktop, then double-click on the MyTasks.txt file
4 copy the contents of the MyTasks.txt and paste into your answer here

You can remove MyTasks.txt after you copy and paste its content in your response.

  • How can I determine if I have firefox 64?

How can I determine if I have firefox 64-bit?

    Hello

I had a look on the details of the user agent for your version of Firefox, and it indicates that you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, but Firefox makes use of a subsystem called WoW64, which allows him to run a 32-bit version of the software as Firefox.

There are currently no 64 bit version of Firefox, but there is a version that is in beta version (you can download it here) and the developer edition of Firefox (which you can download here). Please note that these are not fully completed versions of Firefox you may encounter a couple of issues that would be otherwise corrected before the code skips to the release.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.

I'm only guessing, but I think that it includes the administrator password, or possibly a password for the computer itself.

I'm a bit lost here. Transmit everything you think.

I tried changing the settings on THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT.  I tried several times but without success. I can't even to appear administrator account.

    Jeff

Oh, a separation of thought here.  I hope you better treat that you have treated others.  I don't appreciate someone implying that I am "breaking into any computer.  Microsoft makes it easy for me..., you just made me angry.

First of all, please cite what anyone in my message that was humiliating or derogatory.  I'll gladly apologize for it.  I am sure that you will find nothing, however.

By reflect, if you use a method to access a PC that bypasses the password, you're violating in this computer, if it's yours.  It is a fact, but it is not an insult.  Not where I "talked down" for you.

I also noticed that despite your not like my answer, you nevertheless marked as the answer, it is in this context.

    Hi eaumng,

Launch windows media player, right-click on an empty space in the lower right of the media player, hover over or select help and 'media player' and that should bring up a page on the drive media of which version you are running. If you OS is xp sp3, you probably #11 is installed, and it is the most updated for XP version.
