How can I disable or make invisible conent sponsored?

I understand the sponsored content and tiles - I want to see only the tiles I want to see. Does * not * include sponsored content.
I'd rather pay for Firefox only to have ads in my office: it's my favorite to use and develop on browser.
How can I disable the tiles sponsored, apart from the implementation of a block of real in GreaseMonkey or similar URL?

If you want to remove the sponsored links directory on the subject: newtab page and then use the following steps:

Set the browser.newtabpage.directory.source pref an empty string on the topic: config page.

  • Browser.newtabpage.Directory.source = < empty >

Delete the directoryLinks.json file in the location of the parent of the cache on disk to delete the links directory currently stored.

  • delete directoryLinks.json

View topic: caching the page for the location of the cache disk and up one level upward.

The folder "AppData" in Windows Vista and later versions of window 7 + and the folder "Application Data" in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.

Sounds like malware. You can check your history on which you downloaded Thunderbird to? It is possible that it was a non-official package where Thunderbird was delivered with unwanted options.

For Firefox on Mac, I suggest starting with your add-ons page. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. All extensions are optional; none come with Firefox.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Hello, firefox 22 is now about the density of pixels you have upgraded to system in Control Panel > appearance > display. more information about this is available at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

If you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox is different that your system settings as it has been addressed in previous versions, enter about: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. Double-click it and change its value to 1.0 (or any zoom factor that suits your needs; -1.0 is the default and will respect the parameters of the system).

  • How can I disable 5 GHz on 2nd GEN Airport Express?

    I read the previous explanations:

1 / system preferences > airport > click Wireless on the left, click Advanced, search the list for the 2.4 GHz network and make sure that it is at the top. But I can't find such a list.

2 / airport utility > modify > click on the wireless tab. What wireless tab? Not easy for me at the airport 6.3.1.

There must be a way, but I'm just not see it. I'm told my wi - fi enabled printer is more likely to work if she is not confused by the existence of a 5 GHz channel.

    Help much appreciated.

How can I disable 5 GHz on 2nd GEN AirPort Express?

You can not.  The 2nd Gen AirPort Express is a double router broadband simultaneously ... so the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are always on... or... the two are always turned off if you turn off the wireless.

What you can do, is have a different name for the 5 GHz network, so the 2.4 GHz network has a name and the 5 GHz network will have a different name.  The two networks will continue to use the same wireless network password.

Not sure if that would help your real question... what it could be.  More details would be useful.

  • How can I disable standby/hibernation / startup emits a beep and the sounds?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad x 200 running vista Ultimate edition. 7454 - cto of type

How can I disable those annoying beeps that sound whenever my computer goes in and out of standby and Hibernate.

I tried to transform the model of 'No sound' sounds, but the tone still sounds when the computer enters and wakes from sleep and hibernation.

If I turn on "mute" is put into standby or Hibernate mode, the beep does not sound (which is what I want). Unfortunately, its impossible to come back on MUTE when im trying to put the computer away from the sleep or Hibernate (which makes it very distracting to turn on the computer during the class).

    Solution:

Enter the BIOS by pressing F1 during startup

    > Config

    > Beep and alarm

Tone control power set to [Disabled]

Your solution is correct, but I think it's also accessible under ThinkPad Power Manager software. Go to the "Global settings" tab and choose "beep when the power state changes.»

  • How can I disable the mouse pad when you use a mouse plug-and-play?

How can I disable the mouse pad when you use a mouse plug-and-play? I tried to disable the driver, and nothing works.

    Hello

Check with support of the manufacturer system, documentation online or forums that there is probably
Shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad entered)
and some come with a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

    ==========================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
    on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad from working.

The similar procedure on XP, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I disable the auto restart (following updates) for Windows 7 Home Premium (without messing around w / the register)?

Hello.  About all of the weeks I have my upload computer files from one day to the next.  It's a 17-hour process, and I don't want the computer off or restarted during this process.  Murphy's law usually results in an update windows & restart related happening whenever I put my computer to download said.  First of all, it is deeply annoying that windows would reboot my computer without asking me (Yes, I realize he asks you, and if you are away for an extended period, he just goes ahead and does it... but really, what the $#! % is the point of asking you if she goes ahead and that anyway when you get him just enough early?)  Wow!  Incredibly retarted the Windows for this.)  But anyway, how can I disable this for Win7 Home Premium?  (As if in the first place is not quite annoying, making it virtually impossible to figure out how to turn it off is like adding insult to injury).  Please NOTE, I've seen some other forum post responses on this site that is: (1) link to an information page on the group policies for system administrators, but nowhere does really explain where and how to access these policies and change them!  (2) has a process that begins with 'gpedit.msc' running, but when I started > box to search for this file, there is no result.  (3) the hacking the registry (seriously?  Please, don't.)  SO, please tell me how to disable the auto restart, step by step, without messing with the registry, for WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to potentially re - activate cela in the future and/or switches back as my usage dictates.  And for the record, it's nut that's not a simple option toggle any, as when my computer or monitor sleeps...  Thank you!!

Thank you.  I'll do it and change my Windows Update settings.  BUT, FYI, in an act even more incredible, the same night I posted my question here, my computer was said upload, and I was still in place at 03:00 (when Windows is set to d/l and install updates).  I went to the kitchen for a bit and returned to my computer to find a countdown - he downloaded updates and "will re-start in 7 minutes" or so and counting down... I said "AH HA!"  I caught you! "I clicked the button of REPORTER and went to bed smiling that I myself had saved wasting many hours of work.  But when I woke up the next morning... HE HAD DONE IT AGAIN!  This means that it is: (1) downloaded another "critic" (cough) update later in the evening, which seems likely because it took to do this at 03:00 and had already done so... or (2) the REPORTER button defers only during a certain period of time (maybe an hour, or even less, by the look of it) and then do it again anyway.

This is ridiculous.  As it is not ridiculous to called 9 10 patches 'critical', so critical that an urgent restarting your computer is necessary EVEN IF HE is BUSY WORKING, the substitution of the computer user asks to postpone and reboot anyway is absolutely unacceptable.  How the manufacturers of Windows might think this makes sense, let alone was a good idea?  Reporter should make the computer restarts DO NOT until * I * say he is allowed to do.

In this case, finish the work of 17 hours, that the computer was in the Middle has been MUCH more critical that whatever is downloaded updated.  NO doubt about it.  I know.  Apparently, my operating system is not smart enough to know.  So to take it upon himself to replace my reporter application is crazy.  And in addition, the operating system MUST be smart enough to understand this - it's really not that difficult - if the computer is a lot of work, something intense, a download that is not finished, a sort of bar of ANY progress on ANY application which is not 100% yet, etc., it should be smart enough to WAIT to reboot anyway.

Thanks again once, change Windows Update settings so it will download updates but let me choose to install them, since this operating system is so poorly thought.

  • Soundcards Narrator: How can I disable my Narrator?

How can I disable my Narrator?

If already provided standard procedure does not (and should be), try the following.  Before you start, create a System Restore Point and backup the registry just to be on the safe side.

Go to start / search and type in regedit.exe and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.

    Go to: HKCU NT\CurrentVersion\Accessibility

Clear the value of Configuration and quit the Registry Editor (but make a note of this in case you want to restore or whatever it turns off).

Narraror should now be disabled (and perhaps a few other accessibility features - but this problem will be solved).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck.
