  I tried to find a way to pause audio into a slide when the user does NOT click on the click box.

  I put a text caption, an audio file (1) and click box that has an audio (2). The user must choose a suitable location on the slide, if they err, a legend, failure, which includes an audio object (2) is displayed. The problem occurs when the user wants to answer the question before the end of the audio (1). If they get the right answer that's fine, but if the answer is incorrect, the two audio files overlap.   Oh believe me, it would drive me crazy too.

  It's probably a long shot, because as far as I know, the taskbar should not use the shortcut icon to the start menu to choose which shows... but we will try.  Just kill this reader shortcut in the start menu and make your own (just open Adobe C:\Program 9.0\Reader and do a right click AcroRd32.exe choose "send to: desktop (create shortcut)" and then falling in your Start menu.)  Try it pin to the taskbar too and then open a PDF file maybe.
  I think I know the registry keys control this icon, but I really hesitate to recommend snooping around in it.

  2. stop "Skitch" to launch at startup.

  Preferences system/users & groups - unlock the lock (if necessary), go to the login items, select one and press the sign less down. Repeat if necessary.

  Check the preferences of Skitch to see if there is an option so that it does not start on reboot.
