The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

  • Microsoft programs that run in the background on my computer

Microsoft are programs running in the background on my computer and it makes my computer slow opening and navigation in the programs. I went into msconfig and in respect of the services, I check the box "hide microsoft programs" then apply. My computer operated by more quickly and efficiently. Howerer, a few hours later the "hide" checkbox unchecks and my computer starts to be slow and do the same thing all over again. How to hide permanently microsoft programs so that this computer slow is not the case?          I already have the diagnosis of 'memory', and the memory of the computer is fine.

Hello Ballvk, click hide all Microsoft Services is not neutralize them and they still work at startup. What you need to do is to disable services that are not of use to you.

Click Start and type services.msc in the search box to open the Services associated with your computer. See what services to run and that you do not. To see a list of default services visit http://www.speedyvista.com/services.php.
Check also for other programs to start in The Configuration utility (msconfig) system.
  • I'd like to find which program is running in the background on my computer.

I use windows 7 premium 64 bit on my desktop, a program starts and runs for about 4 minutes spasmodically in the background. When this happens, it slows down and sometimes even freezes the window running. How can I find out what program is running so that I can uninstall if necessary? I'm just an average guy not too tech savvy and I'm just hoping this is an easy fix without taking it to an expert. Any help would be appreciated to this annoying problem.

    Thanks Lesh1

    Hello lesh1,

IType.exe and ipoint.exe respectively are the drivers for Microsoft Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse. They are designed especially for those who have Microsoft Devices. These drivers are usually sent through Windows Update. So, if you don't have a Microsoft Keyboard or a mouse, you can safely uninstall them. In revenge, leaving these drivers as are, would mean without damaging your system.

Note: These drivers are likely registered as keyboard and Microsoft mouse in your control panel. You can remove the Wizard "uninstall a program".

    Hope this helps,

  • program that runs in the background freezes mouse

There is a program in the background, and I can't do anything because it freezes my mouse all the time.  When I go to the control panel and attempt to "stop a program from running at startup", a window appears telling me to turn on Windows Defender. This stupid popup won't let me stop programs from running at startup.  Someone knows how to fix this?  Thank you!

    Hello

Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

Note: identify the program that is causing the problem by doing as from the above proposed link.

    Hope this information helps.

    Hello

I suggest that you use the resource monitor to monitor the use of the CPU, disk, network, and memory in real time.

See use of CPU utilization and other performance information

  • How can I find and close a program using mirror drivers? My Aero effects do not work because of this

Aero troubleshooting said to me that ' a running program using a mirror (a type of display driver) driver is not compatible with the Aero visual experience. • Unknown to the programs that run in the background, slowing down the computer

System resources are always be taxed.  How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot?  How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list?  Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

    Hello DcR3, levels,

How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot? How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list? Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

I would say do not delete program files if you are unsure what it is.  You can do a search online of a file if you don't know exactly what it is.

    To view startup programs:

Right-click on the icon in the start menu. Select "Explorer" from the menu that appears
Find the 'Programs' folder in the pane on the left side of the dialog window. Click the plus sign "+" to expand the tree of folders
Click the "Startup" folder to view the programs that start up when your computer is turned on

Go to the start menu. In the menu list, click on 'run '.

Type "msconfig" without the quotes in the text bar. Click on 'OK '.

Click on the "Startup" tab in the dialog window of the System Configuration that is displayed.

Scroll down to see all of the programs and program files that start up when your computer is turned on.

  • How can I find and read emails that Thunderbird has downloaded on my computer?

I read that Thunderbird puts copies of emails in the folder profiles. To find the folder, I see what looks like the names of folders, I did in Thunderbird and don't see yet any individual emails. When I try to open Thunderbird wants to make an attachment in an outgoing e-mail message. Also, now Thunderbird doesn't want to connect to the ISP and open the mails it.

Wow. All files in the local folders / Archives returned. It is very good, thanks.

I should try that for other folders not in the / Archive. Most top of the tree?

How can I find out what programs are essential in the implementation, we can stop?

    Windows Home vista 32 premium

    Hey Stella-50,

How slow is slow? For example, my machine (e-machine E4264 2.2 ghz with 2 GB RAM) boots in 95 seconds. For me, I call it, in the average. I am currently in the process of looking for a new machine because it is already 3 years old, so maybe that OEN will be slightly faster to start.

What you can 'turn off' will depend on which in fact initially launches upward and, unfortunately, you have not told us that at this moment. Is that you should not disable your anti software anti-virus (updater). nothing to do with your mouse and your keyboard etc.

Perhaps, if you made a list of what application are actually being run at startup (via the msconfig Startup tab) can someone take a look at them and see if, or what can be disabled.

Otherwise, you might take a glance at Startup Delayer http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelay to see if you can delay the time different applications load to allow windows to start up more quickly. I haven't used so I can't say how good/bad it is.  It's a freeware.

  • How can I find and apply a new CSS rule

I want to edit a css rule that currently leads the majority of my pages. The current rule is called ".twoColFixLTHdr #mainContent. The property I want to change to the new pages is the left margin of 250 pixels. I want to copy all the properties of the old rule and the new left margin change and apply this new rule CSS for only new pages.
I was able to reproduce the old CSS rule and apply the change to the margin and rename the rule «.twoColFixLTHdr #mainContentArt» How can I find and apply this new rule to the new page?
    Thank you
    Lou

First of all, it is always better to provide a link to your page, so people can see your code and CSS. Screenshots are rarely useful.

If you double-click on the name of the file in the window Style CSS (you provided a jpg of it), it will bring up the interface and you can make changes to them here. If you click once, then right-click and select go to the Code, it will open the file in DW.

I want to emphasize that these are "classes", and to apply you must identify them as such, for example

So if you want, you can add the new class and apply it to the pages you wanted.

I very strongly suggest you play with the code view, it will put things in a new light that makes life easeir.
