  As I mentioned earlier in this thread (15,17 and 37 positions), doesn't matter which drive Flash updates for Smart TV, if any, would come from the manufacturer, Adobe and certainly not some random site asking you to fill out a questionnaire before give you a file.  Please contact your support of manufacturer of Smart TVs.

  Please, please, please, do NOT go to some random website that asks you to fill out a questionnaire to get a file.  If you happen to get a file, it will likely contain a virus, malware, etc..  Adobe, or any legitimate manufacture, will display a file on some random site and ask you to complete the questionnaire in order to obtain the file.  It just opens your system to all kinds of bad things.  Please do not.

  That should fix it, you must download the wrong file. I got this error before, by simply changing the flash version number and reexporting solves the problem.   I got my PC for a little over 2 years now and I would like to watch videos and movies on my pc via internet.  When I try to view a video or a movie, a bar appears at the top of the window tells me to download the correct version of adobe flash, but it never works.  I tried to access the adobes site to find an upgrade, but they show no one is yet available for 64-bit Vista.

  My husband bought a new PC last Christmas and has the 64-bit vista, but he can watch videos and movies online.  Did I miss something on Adobes site?

  You're not missing something on the Adobe Web site. Flash is only available in 32-bit version. You can use Internet Explorer 32-bit (in your Programs Menu) or install Firefox . Then, install the 32-bit Flash Player and your husband will be happy. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  I checked IE 8 (Windows XP), I am the administrator and connect only to identity card), is running 32-bit, downloaded & ran the uninstaller Adobe, rebooted, reinstalled from the Adobe site, rebooted and have made this several times without success. Emptying the cache, stopped Norton EAST & Firewall (for installation), Internet options are set on medium, active x, java is active, and here is the screenshot of what is in my C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash (if all goes well it shows here)

  I read the thread on the Flash display in Firefox... so I downloaded Firefox and seen the Tube U tutorials in this browser very well. Does not work in my IE8. (I also went to: IE/tools/manage add-ons (all add-ons), but the shock wave is not listed there) (see hidden files is enabled)

  In Add/Remove Programs: Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin (Version 10.0.45.2) is listed with Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5 (Version 11.5.7.609)

  I wonder if it is in conflict with Adobe Web Premium CS5 trial I downloaded to try Dreamweaver. I see it has Adobe Flash Professional CS5 & several other Flash programs that it contains or is this the same problem that everyone else seems to have?

  You're right: CS5 install Flash Player 10.1 beta.  You can't install an older version of Flash Player completely uninstall the beta version first:

  • Download the uninstall program 10.1 of http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html#uninstallers and save it on the disk;
  • from a command prompt, run the uninstaller downloaded with the -force option.

  I may have made on July 11, 2015, in response to a pop - up in Firefox 39.0.

When I search my Applications folder by using the term "flash," I see an instance of AdobeFlashPlayerInstallManager.app version 18.0.0.209, copyright 2008. It is installed in the Utilities folder. It was created on my Mac on July 11 and amended July 14, which would be consistent with the time period where I now remembers seeing the context menu of browser who said that I was using an outdated copy of Flash.

  Now, I'm trying move the suspect Flash application file to the trash. When I right click and select move to trash, I get a Finder window asking my computer password. Should I do this? If this is not the case, how to remove this suspicious file?

  Please let know us also on all the other steps recommended recovery.

  I learned the lesson is not to update software through pop-up windows in the browser.

  Flash Player creates the AdobeFlashPlayerInstallManager.app in/Applications/Utilities /.  You can check if it is a legitimate "Adobe" file by checking the signature on it.  To do this, follow these steps:

  • Start Terminal.app From/Applications/Utilities
  • At the prompt, type: codesign vdv - Applications/Utilities/Adobe\ Flash\ Flash Install\ by
    • You can type codesign - vdv and then drag the AdobeFlashPlayerInstallManager.app file in the Terminal window
  • The results should have ' authority = Developer ID of Application: Adobe Systems, Inc.

  The reason why you're being invited, by the operating system, for the password is that the directory of the application has elevated permissions and to remove the file from her (or install) requires the admin password to make changes to the protected file system directories.

  Adobe has also released and updated Tuesday, July 14.  If you may have gotten a notification pop up as a result.  However, without a screenshot of the popup notification, I can't verify it was that, or something else.

When I looked through the film library, I opened a couple of movieClips that have text on them and declared that it has attached actionscript which reads in the contents of this file .xml as the text of these clips.

  It seems that the text you are looking for is in the .xml file. If the .xml is also poorly organized in the library for this movie, so it can take a bit of research to find the text you want to change.
