repeated failers and message does not disappear. auomatic I tried to fix it for me too. problem is not resolved. Thank you
Remove your MS Powerpoint Viewer 2003 and install a more recent version of the Powerpoint Viewer. The update is most likely a failure because it cannot find the original installation files...

Update of security for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 (KB2464594)
Tried earlier updates for 5 times, but all failed. Anyone aware of the problem of the object? Much obliged for your help
If you did an upgrade to Office 2007 to 2010 then you are stuck with a left-over from the 2007 version which is called "Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies"
You can uninstall it using this command:
MsiExec.exe /X {50120000-1105-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
After that - another "search for updates" and see if it is gone...

I try to install the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB972581), but if failed and I get the error code Code 57A
I have install the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2I bet that if you check the size of the file that has been downloaded it will be probably very small, indicating that it was not downloaded correctly.
I don't think you have another computer at hand, or a friend with a USB key which may be able to download and copy it for you? Maybe burn it to a CD or something.
I could download it and save it to my desktop so I am confident that it is not a problem with the link itself or the file is available for download with success.
I know this isn't a very good suggestion, but the only other option would be to challenge support and see if a technician can take control of your machine and see if they can solve the problem of internet explore.

Why the update of security for Microsoft Office XP (KB2289162) still don't?
I use Windows XP SP3 and have my update starts automatically. Every day I got a message that the updates are available. One of these updates is KB2289162. However the update always fails. How can I install this update?
Hi MaryPastore,
· You have Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 installed on the computer?
· You get an error message or error code when the software update installation fails?
You are able to install some other updates without any problems?
I you suggest to temporarily disable the software running on the computer and then try to download and install the stand-alone package of the KB2289162 update and check if that helps.
Update of security for Microsoft Office XP (KB2289162)
Caution:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.I hope this helps.
