How can I get a repair estimate?

Hey guys,.

I have a T430s that has the connector where the adapter is broken and I would like to know how much will Lenovo charge me to fix it.

The laptop is no longer under warranty and I already opened a service ticket, but nobody has an answer that Lenovo.

Thank you.

How do you open the ticket?

If you haven't already done so, I would call the direct Serviceand chat with them: look at 1-800-426-7378 for costing you.

Moreover, given that the laptop is not under warranty and if you or a colleague/friend/family member is comfortable working inside your laptop, grab a copy of your Hardware Maintenance Manual: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?DocID=UM014461 and take a look at the manual pages: 91-92. The good news is that the input jack is not soldered to the system board.

Looking at the FRU BOM: http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/T430s_FRU_BOM.pdf part is FRU P/N 04W3997.

Research on the site of service parts for that FRU P/N: http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/americas/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/default/PromotionDisplay?promoName=pa... shows it as 'available' with a price of $34 + S/H.

I hope this helps.

Edit to add: peak representing swept Google images...
