How can I get Firefox to open a new URL when you enter a URL that already has an open tab?

When you enter a URL that you have already opened, Firefox instead of opening a new tab back to this tab where the URL was already open. If you cannot open duplicates.

    You could try to go to Tools > Options > privacy and delete the individual cookie for this site. You can also try going to Tools > Options > Security and verify that the site is not in your list of exceptions.

    I need to store Visio files in VDX format for compatibility of Subversion.
    When I ask Firefox to open a VOD on the network, it shows correctly the file is a Visio file and asks if I want to save it. I select Yes, then the file opens in Visio.
    When I ask Firefox to open vdx at the same location on the network, it treats the file as a text file and open it immediately - no option to open with or save.
    I tried to reset Firefox, but it did not help.
    The application in Settings tab does not show the Visio file types in both cases.
    The underlying Windows 7 file association for vsd and VDX is set on Visio.

    I'm stalking MS Office plug-ins to see if there is no information there.
