How can I get malware, Rootkit.MBRWhistler.B (Boot_image) removed from the computer?

Every time you start computer, F-Secure antivirus protection (provided by the Charter cable) informs that a virus was found and removed. History of virus removal indicates the malware is, Rootkit.MBRWhistlerB (Boot_image).  Even if the opinion indcates HIV virus has been removed, the notice of virus removal is upward during each boot.

F-Secure "Help" provide no assistance in order to remove this malware; the State that their commercial association with the cable of the Charter does not help these problems.

Condition instructions Charter cable to clean malware, but noted that if what they have advised did not work, contact Microsoft for a solution.

This specific malware investigations indicates that it provides a 'bridge' for other malware to enter my computer.

Is this a virus? Does anyone have an idea how to remove it? It seems insensitive to the normal virus removal software.
