HOW can I GET MY HP 1010 LASERJET PRINTER to WORK ON MY NEW HP PAVILION LAPTOP g7?

MY NEW LAPTOP IS A PAVILION g7 - 1151SA AND the WINDOWS 7 OPERATING SYSTEM.  PRINER IS A HP LASERJET 1010, MODEL NUMBER IS 460 Q2.  I USED THE INSTALLATION DISK ORIGINAL THAT CAME WITH THE PRINTER, BUT YOU GET THE ERROR MESSAGE SAYING THAT "THE GENERIC IEEEE 1284.4 IS OBSOLETE.  WHEN I HE REQUEST TO UPDATE, HE'S BASICALLY SAYING "THE DRIVER IS UP-TO-DATE.  BUT IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.

The PRINTER has BEEN PREVIOUSLYCONNECTED at A PAVILION dv7 RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA.

PETA,

This is a user to user forum, so please keep in mind that I watched this for you.

There is no kind of say that way. The HP1010 won't be supported under WIN7: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c02535920
