  Photoshop requires at least version 8.4 of camera raw to be able to directly open these Nikon NEF D4S files which is available in Photoshop CS6 and above versions (not in CS5)

  You can upgrade to a higher version of Photoshop or download Adobe DNG converter to convert raw files to DNG and access these DNG files in Photoshop CS5.

  I use 3.6 because I like how it spans my toolbars instead of just me giving bookmarks in the corner and firefox solitaire in the opposite corner.   You're right, MS Win 8 update Advisor said that I had to have this update to install W8.

  However, secure boot will not work without it. So, since you say that HP does not BIOS update more than a year, it means that this PC does not have a secure boot. Built in obsolescence.  I hope just as malware ladies keep looking for rootkit stuff and do not rely on MS to keep safe.
