How can I increase my recovery drive (d). It is fixed to 15 GB and I have tons of free space and want to bring to about 40-50 GB

After only 1 or 2 backups, it overflows. I want to open more space and I see a few large files, but I don't want to delete them without knowing what they are.

NT ATLEE/SYSTEM IS one of them to 12.5 GB. It doesn't seem likely that it would be to delete. I have no junk left to remover or.

I recently got burping on IE. I recorded everything and can reinstall the whole system, drivers, updates, etc.

Before that, I would like to know how to enlarge my recovery in order to have several bakups to restore later if necessary, without having to go through everything.

Sometimes I save a backup elsewhere for easier restoration also.

Using Win 7, IE 7 again, on a not to mention dell POS.

Really, I hesitate to use the most recent EI, until the BS is that they are ALWAYS overcome. Maybe it's time to IE8? Laughing out loud

In any case, all I really want is to expand my recovery disk. Tons of free space on hard drive. 844 franco departure 916 GB.

I seem to be close, but can't get on top. I have taught myself since military-electronic learning computers and

1 semester electronic engineering in College 20 years ago. Just bought 1, turned on and started fishing around end 90. All I really need to understand is interface software and programming stuff.

This seems to be a basic enough scheduling feature to be able to do it myself.

Thanks in advance, Greg

If you are sure that you have the means to re - install Windows, and you did the Dell recovery discs at some point in time, you can extend the old recovery partition using a 3rd partition manager left...

    I have windows 7 ultimate and I read someone's question on the increase in the recovery of the system and I was wondering how to find it on my laptop and desktop? Because if I can and have better if restore points I ever need to go back which would help in the right now with my laptop, that my restore points back only 7 days. Which is weird, this laptop has been used longer than 7 days and I for 2 days.

    And it is the same for windows 7 Home premium? So I could show my father and my brother as well :)
    Thanks Cortana :)

    System Restore saves as many restore points as he shared.  When the allocated space fills, more older restore points are deleted to make room for the new.

    Although SR in Windows 7 is much better than XP, I would always go back much more than a week.  Windows 7 warn you: on the first screen of the system restore, you will notice a link that says "search for affected programs.  Click here to get an idea of what problems might arise if you go ahead with the restoration.

    Also, the list of restore points that shows initially cannot be completed.  Check the box "Show more restore points" to see the rest of them.

    Here's how to adjust the space allocated to the restoration of the system (all Win 7 versions): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/how-much-disk-space-does-system-restore-require

    Here are answers to some common questions about the system restore.

    Remember, the system restore saves its restore points on the same drive that is "protection". If this disc fails, both your system AND your backup disappeared.  Best practice would be to save the backups on an external support.

    How can I get a twain driver for CS5 for Windows 7?

    Since you have photoshop cs5 in the x 86 program files, then you have the 32 and 64 bit versions of photoshop cs5 installed.

    the 64-bit version of photoshop cs5 is in

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit)

    and the 32-bit version is in

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5

    If you have not changed anything in the menu programs, while two versions of photoshop cs5 should be included under Start > all programs

    Photoshop CS5 is the 32-bit version

    Photoshop CS5 (64 bit) is the 64-bit version

    You put the Twain plugin in Win32 folder from the link listed in the #1 message in the Photoshop CS5 32 bit Plug-Ins > import file

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Import-Export

    TWAIN plug-ins | Photoshop CS4, CS5, CS6

    VueScan that mentions Ronald Keller is also a good option if you do not want to be restricted to the use of the 32-bit version of photoshop cs5 to scan in photoshop.

    Scanner VueScan for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux software

    Photoshop cs5 should also be able to use WIA support for your scanner.

    It would be under the file > importantmenu t in photoshop cs5 after you have your scanner is connected and turned on

    How can I increase the size of the D: drive?

    Your D drive is the configuration of your Partition recovery by the manufacturer of your computer.
    It is used to restore your system in case it crashes.
    It is not to be touched, adds anything in or remove anything from him.
    The recovery Partition is usually around 10 GB. That's all he needs to store the files for recovery.
    I strong suggest that you don't mess with it.

  • My hard drive has failed. I have Microsoft XP media center edition 2005. How can I get a recovery disk?

    I had a hard disk crash.  I don't care about data loss, but I bought a new hard drive and you want to install Windows XP media center edition 2005.  I have a sticker on the side of my pc with the product code.  How can I get a recovery disk?  Download the program from another PC?

    As your original failed hard drive, you would of course not be able to access any partition contained on this hard drive recovery.  Therefore, your best option is to contact the manufacturer of the computer and see if you can get the installation of their own media.

    Buy a drive flash memory or if you need a storage more consider purchasing a USB hard drive. If you need a low-profile option, you can use an SD card but transfer speeds will be slower. You could get the updated DSS to level, but this will be done by a trained professional and would be quite expensive.                   -zerotwo77

    Unable to start Vista, cannot restore the drive.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/contacthp?LC=en&DLC=en&cc=au

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
