How can I make firefox start per session open previous tabs by default?

Basically I want Frefox to start with the same tabs and places of the URL they were when I closed Firefox before.

Click on the menu button in Firefox or to change it in the classic menu, then select Preferences, select the general tab and under Startup Select ' show my windows and tabs from last time '.

  • How can I make Firefox the default browser in a non-administrative account in Windows XP, where clicking to do has no effect?

I have two accounts for myself on my PC under Windows XP. In the administrative account, Firefox is already the default browser that appears when I double-click an HTML file, etc. Firefox knows that it is the default browser.

In my other account, whenever I start Firefox, it tells me that this isn't the default browser. By clicking here to make the value by default, or in the options, does nothing.

When I go to Set Program Access and defaults in the administrative account, 'use my current browser' is selected. Mozilla Firefox is not listed as an option. In my nonadministrator account, the Control Panel Add / Remove programs can be used. He says I don't have permission.

To check in the other account, you would have to temporarily give him administrator permissions.

  • How can you make Firefox the default browser when the normal route does not work?

Im trying entirely chrome once a friend showed how my firefox got his act together. However I can't for the life of me set it as default browser. I tried the 'make firefox the default browser' button in firefox, making that opens the windows default programs Panel. Whenever I try to use the Panel she simply sets the Protocol http for every night, which is not yet installed! ( http://puu.sh/2vJHM ) I think that a possible solution would be to change the registry manually, but I don't know where to start.

Thank you for your help, but I managed to fix it by myself. The registry key for the associations of html and URLs of firefox have been corrupted so I scoured their in regedit (at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL) and them deleted entirely, then redid them by clicking on the make default firefox button in the options.

  • How can I make Firefox stop nagging to upgrade me to 36?

If I wanted to downgrade to Firefox 36, I would have done the first time, they asked. In fact, I made do the first time, they have asked and discovered that 36 is so loaded down with no installable bloatware and other shit useless that no one asked to make it work as an overweight, elderly, stoned, quadruple turtle amputated with heat stroke, coma, immersed in molasses and blocking damn near constantly and offers absolutely no identifiable improvement , that's why the upgrade to 35.0.1. I don't want to keep hitting "Remind Me later" for the rest of eternity because I don't want to call back me later, or at least, not until they got rid of the bloatware and replaced 36 with something that actually works. How can I disable these nagging popup dialogs?

Hi, go to Options (gear) - in the 3 menu bar unless you moved, > Advanced tab, then the tab updated and you can set your preferences there.

However, I must stress that in the interests of safety you really have to use the latest version.

    Hope that helps.

  • How can I make Firefox use another version of the installed Java runtime?

For purposes of development, I have several versions of the Java runtime on my 64 bit Windows 7 computer. I try to keep the number of JDK and JRE installation to a minimum and I want Firefox to use JRE 1.7.0_21 (32 bit) because this happened with a version of JDK, I am forced to use another application.

Firefox however use JRE 1.6.0_31 and is correctly reported as non-secure. It offers me the upgrade option, but I don't want to download and install a different JRE since I already said 1.7.0_21 installed JRE. I would prefer very just to be able to point Firefox so that JRE. I don't see an option to select a different JRE installed however.

I tried to manually edit the file pluginreg.dat (I know, it says do not edit...) by changing the entries of JRE 1.6 and 1.7 of the JRE, but on reboot, my changes have been overwritten and was back at the old JRE. So I can't view some web sites (also company/internal) without having to change to any browsers.

Please let me know how I can make Firefox use the already installed JRE 1.7.

Firefox scans the registry to find the location of the plugins.
If Firefox detects a plugin and not the other, then that means that the other Java plugin is not having a corresponding registry key.

  • How can I make Firefox the aspect that he used?

I just bought a new computer laptop with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and installed Firefox 21. Everything has been compressed to a small part of my screen and change the font size has not helped, nor have layout.css.devPixelsPerPx evolution. I tried updating to Firefox 22 and now, the toolbars are extremely fuzzy, not to mention that everything is always compressed. How can I get this Firefox looks like the way it's supposed to; Crisp, clear and use of my screen?

Wow, everyone is complaining that their display is huge in Firefox 22.

Your PPP of Windows setting is set to '100% size text' or 96 DPI? You can check the setting using the control panel display.

When optimize you for Firefox, does not fully optimize? Apparently there were changes in Firefox 22 associated with window resizing (mentioned in another thread), but I'm not sure what it was.

Moreover, for your screenshot, maybe you can fill half of the screen with Firefox and the half of the screen with IE, both on the same page for comparison.

In case you mean that your windows everything changes to more than one low resolution screen stretched when you launch Firefox, on the compatibility of the shortcut tab program and make sure that none of the check boxes is selected it.

  • How can I make Firefox the browser but not to make the default browser?

I want to use Firefox as a browser on some sites, but not all. I don't want to make Firefox or Internet Explorer as default browser but use each on sites such as Google or MSN certaion web.

For your choice of default browser, consider that you want to manage links in other programs, such as word processors, Adobe Reader, or an external e-mail program. Windows will use your default browser to open links.

Then, when you visit a site in a favorite browser, open the browser and use bookmarks or Favorites to get there.
