How can I measure the time between each two successive increase edges, using digital input?

Hello

I have tried two measure the time in seconds between each two successive rising edges on a digital input.

So far I managed to detect the rising edge, increment a counter at each rising edge and take the time during which the increase is edge

all I need now is subtract edge currently rising from the previous era of edge rising to calculate (T), which can be 1/frequency and display in real time for the user.

but I do not know how to do this

Can someone help me please!

Woah!

Sorry Apok, but your code becomes much too complicated and salty. I don't think that all records to offset or Boolean conversion/operators are necessary at all.

If you want to measure the time between two keys so it's another (much less complicated) way. It simply records the time when press button in a registry change, then compares the two.

  • How can I measure the Max delay

    Hi guys,.

I'm trying to add the module to the pulse to my VI. To do this, I guess I need to measure delay Max.

In my class VI, I have some instruments of the current driver, LED, spectrometer, camera and temperature controller. In addition, current is the variable I can change all the time during the execution of the VI.

I was wondering how can I measure the delay between the one and the other, and when I change the value of the current, how long will take to capture the right data

I knew that the number of cycles to measure VI all the time but how can I do for several parts

    Thank you

Time required for the execution of some code can be done using 'Tick counts' now if you do not want it for full code but you want for specific elements of the code, then you must use the same function (i.e. "Tick count" separately for each section of the code.

  • Measure the time between the ridges of the periodic input signal

We have built a circuit which is supposed to mimic an Exercycle.  We have an IR switch and a spinning wheel, the rccb meets a comparator circuit and the output of the element of comparison, we have running in LabView.  We successfully were able to measure the number of rotations of the wheel and the total distance travelled by the wheel, but are struggling to measure speed.  We cannot find a way to measure the time between picks in real time, which we could then divide the wheel circumference and calculate the speed in real time.  The VI I posted has a square wave simulated rather than the signal we receive on our circuit.  Thanks in advance for the help.

    Jon and David

I think you're overloading the things trying to get the time between two pulses.  Instead, you can use the VI Express your measures and select frequency for her custom. Then, you can multiply the circumference of the wheel of the frequency to get the speed.

    I hope this helps.

I foolishly used my camcorder to the outside and the clips are too bright.  How can I change the contrast on each of them in Movie Maker?

Use the effects... Decrease brightness / contrast down.

Here are the steps to change all the clips on the timeline in a batch.

Drag all the clips on the timeline... switch to... See the table of Storyboard.

Reach... Edition / select all, or select an element and type... CTRL + A...

Make a right click the effect you want to add and choose... Add to storyboard table.

You can add up to 6 cases of an effect, but you need to left click
a clip and "select all"... or type... Time of .ach Ctrl + A...

It may take a little practice to master this, but it's easy once you see
    what he can do.

How can I measure the output of a sensor pwm ultrasound using the module or 9403

    Khalil,

When you say 'measure' the PWM signal, exactly what to tell you?

You're looking to measure the frequency or cycle of the signal function? You count the edges of the PWM output increase? Looking to control the waveform?

With reconfigurable FPGA hardware, it is up to the user to define the function of the physical i/o on the FPGA chip. By connecting the signals as Adam suggests your digital pulse will be brought to the cRIO. In your FPGA program, you define the function. You can set a base counter or transfer digital data from single point to welcome you cRIO for floating-point more complex treatment. Example FPGA programs are located in the http://www.ni.com/IPnet.

Hope this helps, please post any additional questions.

How can I set the time axis on my waveform table to show run time that is to say whenever I start the program I should have 0 as the starting point. I've been messing around with the without success. I'm under Labview 2012.

Its pretty normal for a beginner to take the time to write code. Right-click the map of waveform > Create > property node > historical data, you will get a property node, keep this at the beginning of the code and create a constant. You can also go to the VI properties and > run and select "clear indicators when it is called.

I recommend you to go through the basic materials of LabVIEW which will give you an understanding on the basics of bases/components of LabVIEW.

How can I display the time of the data stored in a file using labview?

    Hi Matt,

I think that we will need a little more information as to how you capture the data, what data you capture, etc.

If you capture a waveform, is to extract the time data waveform which includes the t0 and dt values, so you can understand the time stamp of a specific data point as in the image below.

Here is the method for Windows 7. If you are using Vista, there may be a slight difference, but basic procedures should be similar...

Start > Control Panel > region and language > Format > more settings > time tab >

under time format, set hh: mm hh: mm

    H = 24 hours

    h = 12 hours

    Click OK when finished.

"Adobe" is the name of the company that provides a great many different applications.

Adobe Reader is free and allows you to view pdf files.

Adobe Acrobat is expensive and allows you to create, edit and view pdf files.

Assuming that you are referring to the reader, uninstall all the versions of it using the control panel > add or remove programs.  Then either

    1. go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO and download the current version (remember to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.

    or

    2. go to http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/ and download Foxit Reader, a small pdf reader and many more.

Then, install the reader that you have downloaded.
