How can I move a database between copies of Lookout?

I have Lookout deployed in several places as a data recorder for networks PLC. Sometimes it would be nice to copy the database and bring back to my development machine, so I can't spend all day on site looking for events. • IX4 - 300 d / General SIN: How can I move large files between different folders?

    Hi @all.

    My new IX4 - 300 d arrived yesterday

After doing his RAID-things all night, now I want to move my files from my old NAS to this one.

    I do this using Copy-supported by the ix4 - 300 d, which work fine.

A big problem for me: I want to reorganize some large files / directories (> 200 GB), so I have to cut and paste the files from one folder to another (all on the ix4 - 300 d, but with different user groups).

When I move files between subfolders in a folder of the sin, it works fast enough - I think here that the transfer will be treated directly by the nas server.

When I do the same thing between subfolders in different folders (which appear as various network drives in windows Explorer), it seems that the transfer is managed by my pc or laptop - and it is very slow...

I tried to move the files on my network environment (all folders are subfolders of a server: ix4 - 300 d) because I thought the problem was in my network mapping, but it does not work faster.

How will I know my ix4 - 300 d to move the files directly (without the "help" from my pc)?

Another idea for me was to do it via ftp, but my ix4 - 300 d only refused my connection (have to try a little more)

    Please help me

I "solved" the problem by creating a copy of the temporary employment with the manual removal of duplicates once the task is completed. The copy job run all night.

For future problems, I must think of an another "file management".

    Thanks for your response!

  • How can I move workspaces customized between computers of mac OSX.8?

It is no longer a 'user-> library' - its former location in 10.7.

Yes, it's still there, but Apple has decided to hide from you.

A quick way to access is in the Finder: hold the Option key while opening the 'Go' menu, and it will show the entrance to the library.

There are also instructions on the web for how to make the folder visible library all the time (which, frankly, he should be - you have to remove or change many preferences too often).

  • How can I move a subfolder in the Windows 7 'tree '?

    Hello:

I am trying to move a folder between two folders in the libraries 'tree '.

This time when Win 7 open office, an icon of libraries is in the task bar which is very convenient because I spend a lot of my time using these folders in the library.  They are archives, workshop Bible, Documents, music, photos and videos.  (As experienced users can see I've added an extra folder to the range.)

By clicking on the icon of libraries, a window opens with all 'tree' on the left side of the window.

On the right side are only icons that have to do with libraries folder.
In 'the tree' on the left side of the window are two folders listed that I'm interested in changing.
They are workshop Bible and Documents are located one above the other.
For now, the record of the workshop of the Bible is MT
The Documents folder contains about 20 or so files and folders, the number I need to change.
How can I move one of the files in the Documents in the folder of the workshop just Bible above?
By clicking on the folder of the workshop of the Bible with my mouse pointer I get the following messages:

Workshop of the Bible is MT
No records have been included in this library.
    Include a folder

By clicking "Include a folder", Win 7 comes with a selection of folder that does not include the folder and files interested in moving from the workshop of the Bible.

Not knowing how the Win 7 database is setup, I have to ask questions in forums like this one in my attempt to change Win 7 in a way that seems more logical to me and would be easier to use.
Any help in how I could achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thomas

One thing to know when arranging with them, is that libraries and folders are very different from each other, even if they look like.

Libraries are really best described as search results.  In fact prior to Windows 7, Windows Vista has called these "the search folders.  What they are is basically a way to combine files from multiple locations in a single view combined the results of research.  For example, my 'Vidéo' library contains several files:

    • My own video file on my PC
    • Folder of my movies on my external USB hard drive
    • Record videos of my roommate (via network)
    • Video folder on my other computer (via network)

By having all these "included in" my video library, I see all of the movies available for me combined in a single view (a view of the library).  Files remain stored in their original location, the just library research in these places and shows me the results.

The reason why you would have different types of libraries is to customize their appearance at a time.  For example your movies can show large thumbnails icons, ordered by year of release.  Your document library you can use small icons with details such as the name of the author, in alphabetical order.

So given all this, it would make sense that you can simply use a document library, and simply put the specialized types of documents like the Bible workshop in folders inside, rather than as a completely separate library.  But it is really totally to you.

I am often confused about the difference between an event and a time.  Please forgive me if I'm using these terms incorrectly.

I, (pictures) selected, top left, it says, 'Moments' in the header at the top of the page.

I have 4 images in a row under "April 17, 2016" immediately below these 4 images, I have 1 image also under "April 17, 2016".»   With the good old iPhoto, I could simply drag the single image below, on the date above (with 4 images in a row), and that would give me 5 consecutive images.  Then, now empty it event / time would disappear.

Just trying to consolidate my images in a logical way for me.

    Thank you.

    You can not.

The library 'Photos' and 'Pictures' albums are automatically organized function import or taken the place and date.

In the Photos, the equivalents of iPhoto events albums. This is where you can organize your images as you wish.

I left a lot of emails in my Inbox that must have been moved in specific folders. How can I move them in bulk in their specific folders other than moving each of them individually. I pointed out the messages involved in the search, and then click all. I then click on move to...
Nothing seems to happen... I don't know there is probably a step I'm missing here. What would it be?
A similar problem occurs when I want to do a mass removal of e-mails from a specific sender...

To select a large number of messages:

Select the first message. Hold down the "Shift" key, then select the last message. This "selects" all messages between the first and the last of them.

In case it is not obvious, it is not specific to Thunderbird.

  • How can I move photos & video library?

How can I move a few photos and some video clips from one library to another library?

I created 2 libraries and want to better organize my photos and videos by moving a selection of photos and videos of the first library in my second library.

How can I do this? Please helppppp

Photos has no tool to move photos between libraries.

Do it manually by exporting pictures of the first library with "file > export > export original unmodified" and then import export photos and videos of the other library.  After you have verified that they mattered much, remove them from the original library.

Move photos between libraries is easier with PowerPhotos.  Check it out at PowerPhotos ( software of Fat Cat-PowerPhotos)

There is a problem, however.  You cannot move, it publishes versions between librarues, so that the changes can be reversed.  The transfer will be frozen. You can move only the edited versions or original, or both, but not as a pair of the original and the version.

  • How can I move my library iPhoto for WD My Cloud?

I have a MBP 2011 OSx 10.9.5 running with a 320 GB hard drive which is full (only 4.5 GB of free space remaining).  I'm not being updated lately b/c I don't have disk space to do so.  I have an iPhoto library 164GB I want to spend.  I backed up the iPhoto library on a WD My Passport without any problems.  I have a WD My Cloud 2 TB NAS.  I want to save my iPhoto on the NAS library so that whenever I want to access iPhoto I can't plug my DHM.  Or if I travel and you want to access my photos I don't have to carry the EHD with me.  Essentially, I want to use the NAS to accommodate my iPhoto library for access to daily and then use my passport EHD to perform manual backups on a regular basis, so I have a backup of the SIN.  My question... How can I move my iPhoto library to the NAS and it work to use the SIN as the point of main access for my photos?  Thank you.

Short answer: you don't have. It is not a supported disc format and you risk of major loss.

Long answer: iPhoto must have the library sitting on drive to Mac OS extended (journaled) format. Users with the library sitting on disks formatted also regularly report matters including, but not limited to, import, export, save the changes and photo sharing.

    See this article

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/TS5168

to learn more. Also note the comment:

"In addition, store the iPhoto library on a network rather than locally on your computer can also lead to poor performance or loss of data."

This is doubly true in the case of wireless connections: If you try to change the library (i.e. make albums, move pictures around, keyword, brand books or slide shows etc.) or edit individual photos in it wireless be very cautious. Dropouts are a common reality of wireless network, and does it happen while the app is written to the database, then your library will be damaged. Simply, I wouldn't do this with my libraries.

If disk space is a problem, and it is very definitely for you:

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled)

    1. quit iPhoto

2 copy the iPhoto library to your folder on the external drive.

3 hold down the option (or alt) key when launching iPhoto. In the menu that appears, select "Choose Library" and navigate to the new location. From there it will be the default location of your library.

4 test the library, and when you are sure that all is well, trash on your HD internal for free space.

  • How can I MOVE buttons on taskbar to a new location without having to close all programs and resume in the order I want?

I like to keep the buttons in my taskbar has organized with the browser and messaging on the left, followed by Windows Explorer and other items. If they get out of order or programs are loaded into a different order, how can I MOVE the buttons to a new location without having to close all programs and resume in the order I want? In addition, sometimes, one of program buttons seems in itself to migrate out of place and I need to get back to where it should be: same problem.

    Hi shohareZohre

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers Forums!

The task bar is the horizontal bar at the bottom of your screen time. In contrast to the office, which can get obscured by the windows on top of it, the taskbar are visible nearly all the time. It includes four main sections:

    ·         The Start button, which opens the start menu.

    ·         The Quick Launch bar, which allows you to start programs with a single click.

    ·         The middle section, which shows you what programs and documents you have open and allows you to quickly switch between them.

    ·         The notification area, which includes a clock and icons (small pictures) that communicate the status of certain programs and computer settings.

Add or remove programs on the Quick Launch toolbar

The Quick Launch toolbar is located on the task bar and is a convenient way to open programs. You can add or remove program icons in the Quick Launch toolbar so that you have easy access to the programs that you use frequently.

To add a program icon to the Quick Launch toolbar

Click the icon for the program to add (you can find most icons of programs on the start menu or the desktop) and then drag it to the Quick Launch toolbar.

Note: If you don't see the toolbar tools quick launch, right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, click Toolbars, and then click quick launch.

To remove a program to the Quick Launch toolbar icon

Right-click on the icon of the program and then click Remove.

Notes: ·         Delete an icon from the taskbar does not remove its corresponding computer program.

    ·         If you want to stop showing a toolbar on the taskbar, right-click an empty area of the taskbar, point to toolbars, and then click the item that you want to stop broadcasting.

NOTE: The ability to move the programs in the taskbar is not possible in windows Vista but the same functionality is available in Windows 7. Please see the link below.
