Probably no way you can get a Windows XP disk not paying... much less by not paying.

Find a friend, family member, knowledge, grumpy man who might have a copy of Windonws XP not only the same edition (probably Home Edition), but type (probably OEM), then your friend can use probably stuck product key somewhere on the machine in question to install from the CD borrowed or copied.

  • Help! Can I re - install Windows XP after a virus / Malware crash?

Basically, my laptop picked up what appears to be a boat load of virus / malware of some link and has started flashing upward with safety messages, then adobe flash crashed... then the entire closed system.

Now, when I turn on all I get is a black screen says:

    "Missing or damaged file:

    \System32.HAL.D11.

Please re - install a copy of the above file. »

But as the laptop computer does not respond, I don't know what to do... is it completely kaput, or is it possible to save her?

    Thank you!

You can consider starting another thread/topic just for your problem if things don't mix with Tarkin75 (Tarkin75 has a different problem).

If your system starts without complaining and you are just having trouble getting on the Internet, here are some things to check after relieving your system of malware:

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your disabled Internet access.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to launch the Internet Properties Control Panel, choose connections, LAN settings.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

(If you make settings, write them down so you can undo changes if you must)

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

If it still does not work, check your settings are still in place after a restart and then release and renewal IP of your network device configuration settings.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window, and then type the following commands:

    ipconfig/release
    ipconfig / renew
    output

Restart your computer and test your connection.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • How can I re - install Windows on my DM1Z?

    Hello

I recently bought a DM1Z with AMD E350. I like the laptop, but it came pre-loaded with a ton of software that I do not use and, frankly, don't like.

Microsoft Office 2010 starter, Norton and about a dozen HP tools.

I long for the day when the PC manufacturer will be available PCs totally clean, or with a simple installation of Windows, if they really and THEN give users a list of tools that can be installed.

Anyway, how can I reinstall the OS, so that I can skip all (or almost) the extras?

Apart from the fact that the DM1Z doesn't have a CD/DVD player, I didn't have any software in the box.

Here I have a collection folder in the D: drive, but I can't access the contents via windows Explorer.

    Thank you

It is possible that your system HP Recovery Manager has the possibility of the recovery of the reduced image. Reduced image recovery installs the operating system and required HP software but does not install any software trial version.

Which can be verified in turn the computer laptop and typing on the F11 key to call the HP Recovery Manager.

Read this web document on options for HP Recovery manager. for more information on the minimum image recovery.

  • How can I re - install Windows XP on my daughters PC where the product key is missing half on the sticker?

    Hello
I have the original from my window xp I want to put it on my lap top girls but the number of product is half missing, is in the same House since when I recorded my own can I put it on more tham 1 pc in the same household?  If so, how can I get the number, when I ring to activate, it is for me as a no, I may have a pirate copy, but it's mine
    Thanks in advance
    original title: activating xp

If your copy of Windows is preinstalled on a computer, it's an OEM copy - and the license CANNOT be transferred to another computer.

Nobody don't keep records of this license has been actviated by which - above all, Microsoft. Data for registration and Activation are stored on separate servers and correlate precisely for this reason.

Each license of the retail XP DO can be installed that on one machine at a time - the OEM licenses are not transferable between machines.

  • How can I re install windows 7 Home premium

I downloaded widows 8 two weeks ago and, even if I like it, I found that it is not compatible with my Sony VAIO 3 year one-piece desktop computer because it windows * does not download some drivers like the built-in webcam and microphone.

I need to re install Windows 7 Home Premium for which I bought through for download on the Microsoft Store in the United Kingdom. I have a product key and the purchase of reception ect. How I can do what I've searched and searched and cannot find any where on the internet that shows me how to do this. I would appreciate your advice and help, and more important again some instructions.

When double boot with older versions of Windows, you must install the older version of Windows first (in this case Windows 7) on the boot drive. Create a partition, and then install Windows 8.

Another thing, you would need a full version of Windows 8, Windows Pro 8 is an upgrade and you used to update the license of Windows 7 Home Premium eligible you want because you would be in non-compliance.

Buy a full version of Windows 8

If you want to build your own PC and install Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro or an additional operating system running in a virtual machine or a separate partition (including a Mac), you can buy Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro System Builder (OEM versions). If available in your country or region, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro System Builder products can be purchased at participating stores, you will need to ask a the sales representative for more information. This version does not support the customer.

  • How can I clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using a upgrade disc?

    Originally, I had a Windows Vista 64 - bit o/s office.

I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit o/s

The first time I ran this 'upgrade', I made the mistake of selecting the option UPGRADE instead of using the CUSTOM option.

For some time since I've done the 'upgrade' I got BSOD problems including caused by video and WebCam drivers.

This is why last week, I took the plunge and decided to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using my UPGRADE disc (the disc is not FULL version)

    I selected CUSTOM

I saw, I had two partitions:

    Disk 0 Partition 1: Win_RE

    Disk 0 Partition 2: CDrive (c :))

I couldn't find an option to delete my partitions and perform a new installation.

I ran this and finished installing fine but did not format my drive and it change named my windows to windows.old. Things seem to be ok on my PC, now that I've done this, and I don't take BSoD right now.

However, I was told that I should be able to achieve a COMPLETE clean install delete partitions to force the OS to reformat and recreate the C: partition.

    The menu:

    Discount

Load the driver (I have no idea what is this option)

To make changes to partitions, restart Windows from the installation disc

I could not click on an option to delete/reformat my partitions and thus abandoned the process.

I then let the disc (forgive my ignorance) and restarted the PC. I dropped in the BIOS and set to boot from the DVD drive.

This did not do anything to bring up the WINDOWS SETUP option. It would simply start Windows after that, I suspect, he couldn't find the exe file to start.

Thus, while everything seems to work fine, I'm frustrated that I can't run a clean full install like what I'm doing doesn't work.

If someone is able to give me advice on how I can get the installation routine to show this option which would be more useful.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
