How can I reformat my drive hard when I'm away from my windows vista disk?

System backup and restore do not work. My windows update does not work.

I have spyware and viruses that mess my computer. I have to reformat my hard drive and I can't find my windows freakin vista disk.

So how do reformat you without disk of window vista, I need detailed instructions on how to do this.

Without an OS disk, Vista or otherwise reformat will not improve your
situation. You have options that...

a. you can use the integrated recovery of your PC system (if it has one). Often
It's accessible by repeatedly pressing F12 during restart (you may machine)
be different). Do not forget to copy on critical files before you implement a
recovery, or one of the following options...
b. you can contact your PC manufacturer and ask a set of Vista restore disks to
as your system to its original state. There may be charges for
This service.
c. you can buy a new set of installation of Windows 7.

  • How can I erase the drive hard when I can't read the screen of the monitor?

I need to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows xp but I can not "cmd" promp because I can't read the monitor

What do you mean that you can not read the monitor? Is the black screen or it seems weird when you start the operating system? And why do you need command prompt to reinstall an operating system?

You need not be inside an operating system to reinstall.

    1. Insert the installation disc and turn on your computer
2 watch it down or up for orders of F access the BIOS (usually F2) or the Startup Manager (usually F12)
3 power on the system again, then press the button once Startup Manager as a couple at the time wherever you turn on the computer.
    4. Select the CD/DVD drive as the boot device
    5. a screen will come in saying to press a key to boot from CD (so press a key) and the installation will begin.

If you don't have a Boot Manager, then you must start in the BIOS or Setup and move the CD/DVD drive up to make the first boot device.

  • How can I use my drive hard thunderbolt from 8 TB to backup all my wireless devices?

How can I configure my drive hard thunderbolt from 8 TB to back up all my devices using a Wi - Fi connection?

What you might hope better would be to use a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter to connect to the router, but even if it works, it would be like a fire (Thunderbolt) connection to a water hose (Ethernet) is launching... and expect to get more water on the hose... more, the best that can be done without wire will be about half the speed of the Ethernet network.

Sorry, this is no sense... a Thunderbolt drive is designed to connect directly to a Thunderbolt port on a computer, or in a Garland with other devices Thunderbolt.

In other words, as soon as you break the chain of connection Thunderbolt, the speed drops to Ethernet or even low speed wireless.

    A little off topic...

I strongly suggest that you buy an external hard drive and do you backup files on it.
With an external hard drive, you can set up a schedule of backup files. All you need to do is turn on the computer > plug the drive Ext. hard and let the computer do the backup when the calendar.
You can leave the computer unattended and want you want to do.

Nowadays, an external hard drive of 1 TB of capacity can be had for less than $100, and I quote in Canadian dollars. And I use one.

Imagine that you have to go through the computer for HOURS, feeding the machine with DVD whenever he asks.
I remember he had time, I could not complete backup of files because the computer kept asking for disk #3 while I was on the disk #5 etc.

Personally, using DVD for backup of files, it of a waste of your time, childcare of the computer and the loss of your money to buy the DVD.

    The library is a container.
Move the Documents folder on the F drive (right click on Documents, properties-map) and the library /should/ re - point himself at this place.

  • How can I reformat the drive of the Satellite Pro A100?

I have a Satellite Pro A 100, that my son has used for more than a year in College!
There is so much junk on I think that a reformat would be the easiest option for erase everything.

However, I can't find any way to do it. I tried the usual methods. Start, Control Panel, Admin etc, but the format option is always deleted.
I even tried to run, using 'format C:', but was informed that the reader was already in use and could not be formatted.

    Suggestions, please.

AND, I need a CD from Toshiba to replace all the files of Toshiba, or they are in another partition on the HARD drive?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

You need a CD of the OS or the Toshiba Recovery CD to format the HARD drive and reinstall the operating system.

The Toshiba Recovery CD contains the image of Toshiba. It s a package which contains the OS, driver Toshiba, tools and additional software.

I would recommend using the Toshiba restore for formatting and reinstallation CD.

And the best is that you would not need to install the drivers because the Toshiba Recovery CD to install everything in one step!

Can someone give me a step by step to my entire system backup - programs and files on an external hard drive.

  • How can I mount a drive hard macbook on an imac?

    Hello

I have a start 2011 15 "macbook pro that upward and died suddenly last night. Some preliminary research suggests that it is probably the logic board. I expect to be able to get the files on the hard drive (it's already been replaced once!) on my iMac. Both were under OS 10.8.4. The hard drive I use in the laptop is a 500 GB Seagate portable thin SSHD. I took out the hard drive and used a SATA Adapter USB to connect it to the iMac but I get the following error: "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer."

Is it possible to recover these files or am I stuck with a giant, useless paper weight? No, I had not run a return upward in some time. No, unfortunately I don't have the money to get fixed logic board, if that is indeed the problem.

    Thank you in advance!

Why not buy an external enclosure for this drive? Check if OWC (macsales.com) maybe you adapt to your player.

  • How can I know which drive hard connection will fit in my XPS 400?

Hello. I'm looking for more space and more speed from 400 XPS under Vista 32 bit.   Because I have a Pentium D 2800 core duo and 4 GB of ram, it seems to me that the last reasonable upgrade is a bigger drive.

It currently has a WD 160 GB with 8 MB buffer.  My wife says that it's slow.

In addition, the ones I see on Tiger direct shows SATA 300. Is it the same as normal Sata?    All are sata drives compatible with the specification xps 400?

    Option A): Western Digital Caviar SE16 640 GB hard drive - 7200 RPM, 16 MB, SATA-300, OE. $80.

    Option B):Hitachi sister 7 K 1000 1000 GB hard drive - 7200 RPM, 32 MB, Serial ATA-300, OEM.  $110 after rebate.

1 TB disks seem to offer with 32 MB.  The 640 GB has only a case of 16 MB.   Assuming 640 GB is enough space, is it better to get the 16 MB buffer or is it useful to switch to a memory size 32 MB buffer? I get a pop in performance?

    Thank you!!

  • How can I change the drive letter of the cd/DVD/BD in windows 8

The only thing that appears under device management is hard drives.  Optical drives do not arise as they did under XP or 7.

In Windows 8, the optical drives are listed in the Device Manager under CD/DVD-ROM drives.

In windows 8, the drive letter assignments are made in the disk management snap-in in.

    Access

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative tools

    Computer management

    Disk management

Highlight the device in the list, click the icon to the left of the list on the right left

In the context menu, select change drive letter and path.

    Follow the on-screen prompts.

If the devices are not listed, shut down the computer to the power off. Wait a minute. Restart and check again.
