  Wow - thank you, my mp3 player thanks and my children thank you!  The convenience store did not help - he told me that my library has been altered... as I didn't know that already!  But the manual method operated very well... but if someone else is reading this for help, I don't have to start my computer in safe mode because one of the files (which was large enough that it WAS probably the file that I needed deleted) was in use with the network share and I had no idea how close anyone who opened.  But in safe mode worked very well.

  For this model of laptop, it is quite complicated because the STRANGE is from both sides.   The problem is that when you use Auto detect mode the computer chooses what USB mode to connect to the computer. So, if your using WMP it uses MTP mode, but if your use drag and drop will use MSC mode, and when you connect to your computer you can see what has been added in the mode that you are connected to.   Hi and thanks... Videos out of my camera I'm just drag and drop to the desktop.  They are avi - cam is a Canon about a year.  Others are .mov of 3D software I use - Cinema 4 d. I save animation software in the appropriate folder.   Youtube videos are made with YOutube Video Downloader and files are for most .flv but others come too.

  All of these files open when doubleclicked and the name of the file is very large print at the bottom of the screen may be 4 seconds then fades.  I've not edited somehow - they are the first "raw" video camera or animation software.

  It is not consistent, but especially it happens only on one machine - Win 7 Pro with all the updates.
