  So I have a big problem. I need to add a printer to my laptop to print important documents, but I can't connect to it without my administrator password. My father is the administrator of my computer and reset his password twice now to remember one, but forgetting the current. We tried everything we could for the passwords, but it did not work. I made a password reset disk, and when I've blocked my standard account and went to the login screen and follow the steps in the password reset Wizard, I came across an error message when I tried to reset the password. The message was this: an error occurred while the wizard was attempting to set the password for this user account. It's a problem I've experienced actually, but that's not important right now. I used to have BitLocker on my USB (password reset disk), but I went through a lot to remove it because I thought it was BitLocker causing the error message to display. However, I removed BitLocker, and I still get the same error message. How can I reset my password without completely restoring Windows 7 because I have on my browser bookmarks that are mandatory for me and there's like a mile away, so I'll never have time to go to each link and save the URL. My father suggest saving all my documents on an external hard drive, then Windows 7 reset, but then all my bookmarks and downloads disappear with it. I'm also not allowed to install some things that I want to use my standard account, but I'm not allowed to do so without the administrator password. I need to reset my password or at least become an administrator myself my own standard account, because I was put in place with this for almost a year now, and I'm tired. I searched online for password crackers that are not very reliable, but also require an administrator password to install! I tried the CMD tactic, but you must run as an administrator to reset the password, right? But how can I do if I don't know the administrator password? I would appreciate it if you could tell me just why I get an error message when I try to reset my password. I thank very you much for your time.

  Here you go:

  1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
  2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
  3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
  4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
  5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
  6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
  7. Configure Windows to a point before you changed the password.
  8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  All you have to do is to go into System Preferences > Parental controls and click on the padlock in the lower left and admin user and password and then click on the device in the lower left corner and disable Parental control for the selected user

  You need the password to another one administrator-level account, or to the real real 'administrator' account?

  If you use an administrator level account, you can enable the built-in true ' administrator' account, connect on it (she has no default password because it is disabled by default) and reset the password of another account from there.

  To do this:

  1. Press + X to display the context menu, and then click computer management.
  2. On the left, click local users and groups, and then select the users folder.
     On the right, you will see the account named Administrator.  There must be an arrow down to this topic icon, indicating that the account is disabled.
  3. Double-click the administrator account, and then uncheck the "account is disabled".  Click OK to save your changes.
  4. Close the computer and connection to the administrator account.
  5. Back to the same page of user management.  Right-click on the account with the unknown password and choose set password to set a new.
  6. Open log on to the administrator account and your regular account.
  7. Go back once more on behalf of users and disable the administrator account.  You want to book it only in an emergency - if something had to get changed or broken in the administrator account, you have a downturn in the future to use.

  Please note that I tried the 'normal' procedure or standard used to reset my BIOS password and I noticed in many other positions, this computer (laptop G62) maintains its BIOS data even after removing the battery from the room.  I also tried to short-circuit drivers who appear to be linked to the battery to remove all ability and that did not help either output.
  
  If someone has successfully cleared the password for this computer model or an employee of HP with knowledge or the wisdom of how to do it, please let me know.  My computer is beyond his support a year date and therefore a tax will be assessed should I call Tech Support and therefore would be too grateful for any help.

  If you do not want to do a complete makeover so you really need to enjoy various safety nets that are built into Windows 7. They are here:
  • Restart the computer with your Windows CD to repair, then use system restore to set Windows in a week or two.
  • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (a spare admin account is like a key to the House of emergency. Everybody has one.).
  • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
  • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
  • Use the password indicator (works only if you set it upward, and if this is common).
  • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
