How can I restore my nvidia graphics card settings?

HP G6000 laptop / Windows Vista 32 bit

Hello.

I think I did a stupid thing and set my chart on two monitors in Control Panel. Now when I log on the screen on my laptop turns off just after looking up (sometimes the office shows just just before deletion) so I can't change this back. I am able to run the laptop using graphics native but want to re view - put the nvidia card. I think I'd be able to see the desktop etc, if I had a second monitor but I have no one that has the right cable. Is there an easy way around that without using a second monitor?

Solved this problem by a stroke of luck.

I have reactivated the nvidia graphics (actually a restoration of hardware drivers Recovery Manager) and when re-load windows I got the usual black screen. However I noticed the key F4 was a symbol of the screen and when it has been activated (fn + f4 key) the display is back - I was then able to enter the Panel Nvidia and re - configure monitors for laptop only.

It's "RTFM" - the HP user guides call the f4 shortcut key "switch screen".

Quite obvious! The solution was there all the time, just waiting to be read!

Now all I have to do is try to get the sound working... but that's another topic of discussion, I think.

    I recently went through the nightmare of trying to install a Gigabyte GTX 650 in my PC. After a few days of struggle and scouring the internet for answers, I discovered that it is not compatible with the BIOS on my motherboard, and HP does not update the BIOS. I returned the card and is now seeking a new, but I'm not sure what card works now, since my computer meet the requirements of system for the graphics card and it stil ldid does not work. Because the GPU manufacturers do not list the specifications of the BIOS under system requirements, how can I know if a graphics card will work with my system?

    My computer is a p7-1240 with a 520W PSU upgrade and approximeately 11 "of space to install the card.

    Thexn, welcome to the forum.

    The problem is a lot of video cards latest require the computer to have a complete UEFI BIOS.  HP began using one in mid-October 2012.  Before that date, the BIOS is the legacy.  This is why the video card does not work with your computer.

    I don't know what you would spend on a card, but MSI is a GTX 750ti which is a VBIOS hybrid.  It has a switch to change to inheritance or UEFI.  Is there a video link directly below the image of a card.  Paul of Newegg gives a complete description of the map.

    I like the best EVGA cards.  Their Support gave me a lot of information on their cards.  However, you will need to return to a GT 640 map to find one of their cards that does not require the UEFI BIOS.  They have a few updates for their BIOS' are which solves the problem, but we must call them for accurate maps.

    Hello

    a restore point lets you not reinstall vista

    a restore point puts the computer settings to an earlier point in time

    That's all

    If you have problems with the recovery discs that you did or the process of recovery in general you will need to contact the manufacturer of the computer

    It's their recovery process not microsofts

    and you don't have to boot from the recovery disk and follow the prompts

    to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

    It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

    Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

    and here is the General information on the different ways to reinstall vista

    Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

    they do it for a nominal cost of $

    also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

    you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

    Ask them of the exact key sequence

    or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

    Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

    they contain all versions of vista

    This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • How can I restore Firefox really pre-addon settings?

    I installed the add-on "Image-Show-Hide." I quickly decided that it was useless and removed. However, even after relaunch Firefox, my automatic configuration settings did not return to normal. Then I tried "Restore Defaults" through the Customize Firefox. No change. So I used the option "Refresh Firefox", as suggested in an article for help. Result, I always get the incomplete picture display - more, "registered" on my desktop Firefox profile does not seem to be accessible.

    From what I can tell, a Windows system restore would not return the automatic configuration of my browser settings. I'd appreciate any help on how I can get my Firefox old back, short of completely uninstall and then reinstall the browser.

    I want to know how I can restore my computer settings to factory with using the original disk of computers or to create a recovery disk

    Here you are options to reinstall Vista:

    Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • How can I restore my computer to factory settings?

    Original title: looking for professional help, big questions.

    Hello, I have a Dell Latitude d630 laptop, and it has some major problems, I can not understand.

    I am running windows xp service pack 2

    for one my mouse keeps moving left and right all by its self, not even try to figure this again

    I have a hidden player called drive X, it is also the boot drive, the only way I can access this hard drive is by selecting the

    also repair option when installing my software, this disk is write protected. Don't know, I installed a new hard drive and drive X

    rest, I installed new memory chips and still have the X drive, I don't know where else to look, where this information

    can be stored.

    I try Dariks boot and nuke, kill the drive, tried to format it, tried to remove all across BACK, once I turn the system

    stop and restart, all the information is back.

    also the files and folders have a tendacy auto recover, when deleting files and folders through BACK I get access denied much, have

    tried using Calc to support, but it don't work, suggestions for anyone who would be appreciated, I'm at the point where I am

    ready to pull my hair.

  • How can I restore my computer to factory settings so that I can give it with peace of mind about my personal information?

    I would only delete personal files.

    Hello

    Remove only the personal folders is not the way to do

    Everyone can recover with the software of data recovery and your user account name, parameters, etc rest...

    And if everyone would recommend "Dban"; who will even remove any recovery partition (which if necessary for purposes of relocation), because it deletes (as its default action) information on any hard disk that it finds in your computer and you need to reinstall the operating system.

    The way to do what you want to do is to reinstall the operating system that your header request initially (but remember the only way to know that your data is never recoverable is to physically destroy the hard drive!).

    Here are the various ways to reinstall the operating system:

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of recovery disks to reinstall from.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer (this is why I did not recommend the use of Dban).

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup.

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

  • update errors, nvidia graphics card.

    Hello, I have a problem that I can not update my nvidia graphics card, I saw a post here and tried to re install but it says "graphics card cannot find compatible graphics hardware" and if I try to open the nvidia Control Panel it says "a NVIDIA graphics card has not detected in your system". In Device Manager it shows GT 630 M and 650 M, tried to download two nvidia drivers, but still get this error message.

    PS my cell phone is samsung NP550P5C-A02UK and I tried to download the drivers from the Samsung support for my laptop Web site still nothing.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    After looking at the error code, we can get to two conclusions:

    • Graphics card problem.
    • The problem with the graphics drivers.

    I suggest to uninstall the current drivers from Device Manager first, learn more about how to remove devices from Device Manager please visit the link below:

    Once the device is uninstalled, restart the computer.

    Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.
