How can I retrieve my calendar entries?

Yesterday, I finally upgraded from Cougar to El Capitan.  All goes well and more easily than expected.  This morning, when I opened my diary, there is no entries!  How can I retrieve my calendar entries?  I have two backups on external hard drives.

Calendar stores its information in the /Users/ {your short user name} / library/calendars. I'm sure it was in the same place in Snow Leopard. You can use Go-> Go to folder... to get this hidden folder. Each account of the calendar will be in a folder of its own name with a long string of characters .caldav or .calendar. An option I would say is, after being sure that calendar is leaving, just outright copy back on this issue of calendars of one of your backups overwhelming that currently exists and then reopen the calendar and see if everything looks and acts as expected. If so, great. If not, then my suggestion would be, assuming you're calendars are synchronized to iCloud, Google, or elsewhere, to simply go to the preferences of calendars, in the tab accounts, set up your accounts again and let the event synchronization to your Mac.
