How to get a new product key to activate sp1

I downloaded the sp1 update and after installation, I discovered that I needed a new kay product for activation. HOW CAN I GET THE KEY PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE?

Your installation reports that it is authentic - but you have a cached validation failed.

Try a manual validation to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate

If she passes (and should be) you will be offered IE9 and MSE - you don't have to take them!

    [edit]

I have just re-ckecked the key - and it's for an ASUS computer.

You must purchase a legal Win Ultimate, or go back to the original OS that came with the computer using the manufacturer's recovery disks.

  • is there a product key for windows 8 when I buy the box?

I plan to purchase Windows 8 in the box, but I want to create an ISO image of Windows 7 complete edition in case I don't like Windows 8. When I read some of what Microsoft says about this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only, I looked down where it says make a backup of everything what you keep, which included creating a iso backup of your operating system. In conclusion, I want to create a backup of WIndows 7 first of all as an ISO, then install WIndows 8 with the product key without needing a disk.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7, you'll need create the system image, no not one. ISO:

    NKALE,

It is OEM, sale retail or Volume Licensing? If it is OEM, the tile should be on your CPU. If it's retail, should be on the back of the box. If it's VL, then you should see in https://eopen.microsoft.com.

Note: This site works often hurts when you enter a product key, bad language is one of the questions. You can also receive a notice to connect with the manufacturing of PC if you have a key OEM supplied with your computer, but it can't hurt to try.

Please read the following information below are a possible solution "If you re - install on the laptop to Windows 7, you mentioned."

    More information and alternative resources:

If you have a friend with a version of "Retail" (Full or upgrade media, only in the media that you don't need their key) of the installation DVD (should be the same as your key was for: Home Premium, professional or Ultimate) it will work with your "Retail" or "OEM" product key, if you need to reinstall or repair Windows.

How to recovery code product key

(Required for installation) Windows 25-character product key isn't on the installation CD in any way, shape, or form.  If it is a retail license, the product key is stored on the CD packaging on a bright orange sticker that says: "Don't lose this number."  If it's an OEM license (factory installed), it is stored on a label that the PC manufacturer affixed outside your box, or on the bottom of your laptop.

To restore a lost product key:

If your system is still running, you should be able to use Belarc Advisor from http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html to find the product key.  (If you have an OEM factory-installed license and have not reinstalled from the OS, the product key revealed is probably the disk image used at the factory and not your specific product key, therefore it probably impossible - and certainly should not be - used for re-installation.)

If it is a retail license, and you have proof of purchase:

If it's an OEM license, you must contact the manufacturer of the computer; Although very few of manufacturers/suppliers record product keys, they sold, it's worth a try before having to buy a new license.
