  • How can I stop my favourites imported appear separately in virtue "of Internet Explorer?

    Hi all

I am running Win 7 SP1 and using IE 11 and 26 Firefox. I imported my favorites/bookmarks from IE to Firefox. They have migrated without problem.

However, my Firefox bookmarks are not quite in the same place as my IE Bookmarks imported. My Firefox bookmarks show in the drop down menu as soon as I hit the button "view your bookmarks. But my imported IE Favorites require an extra click. they are listed in an another submenu ("Internet Explorer").

Please can someone tell me how to get all the bookmarks (ex - IE and Firefox) to show when I hit the button "view your bookmarks? It's a small thing, but it is quite annoying that they imported very well, but need two or more clicks to see them. I wish that they all in the same place!

Yes, I'm a tiny bit LCO (it is the disorder obsessive-compulsive, but with the letters in the correct alphabetical order, just as it should...)

    Thanks in advance,

    Ian

You can copy IE Favorites "From the Internet Explorer" folder and paste them into the Favorites folder where you want them to appear.

You can do it in the bookmarks (Library Manager; Bookmarks > show all bookmarks).

I don't know why he started to do today, but whenever I start FireFox version 3.6.17, it loads the page https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
    https://www.Mozilla.com/en-us/pluginCheck/
How can I get to stop doing this?
All my plugins are up to date.

Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

Pref = plugins.update.notifyUser if it shows as true, double-click this pref to toggle it false

If this pref was already set to False, try to disable the QuickTime Plugin, and then restart Firefox, to see if it is the culprit.

  • How can I uninstall DisplayLink so that it asks Me to install

    Hello

When I uninstall DisplayLink and reboot, I can use my Dell S2340T monitor just by connecting via HDMI and USB (to reach) and it works fine. However, a window of DisplayLink ceases to appear asks me to install the drivers from DisplayLink, constantly all the time.

I don't want to use DisplayLink with TI-never more. Although it would be great to just connect with a cable, when these drivers are installed (Lenovo Yoga 13 Windows 8), it causes a significant delay occurs at the launch of Win 8 apps (even if the monitor is not connected) * which disappears when I uninstall graphics of them and also blurred when loading, gradients of desktop background apps and quickly graphic movement. Without the monitor drivers is strong and fast! So not worth the problems causing DisplayLink, and I don't want to be asked each time to install... How can I make the computer forget DisplayLink all together once they are uninstalled?

    Thanks for your help :-)

    See you soon,.
    Scott

    Hi Chris,

The way DisplayLink people have been able to help me solve it, is to turn on the Green Mode, flow this disables their chip. This means that the Ethernet does not work, but that's normal with me as I use a wireless network. So now I'm able to use only the HDMI and the link upstream USB with the monitor. Unfortunately, I now have another problem, but I'll put it in a separate post, as this one is solved. Thank you very much for your help!

    See you soon,.

  • How can I block a site to be seen in Firefox? Internet Explorer allows a list of sites that are blocked for each category of site (Internet, confidence, etc.).

I want to be able to block a site to be seen in Firefox. Internet Explorer allows a list of blocked sites in each of the categories - for example Internet, confidence, etc. It contains a generic function. How can I do this in Firefox?

A more direct way to submit a feature suggestion is:

Help menu > submit your comments

However, in the early days the community add-on provided extensions such as NoScript and AdBlock Plus to build these features and refine their feedback from users. Unless there is a good reason to integrate these features into the core of the product, I don't think it will be a priority for the developers.

  • How can I stop Firefox toolbar pop up when the mouse is above the screen mode full screen (without kiosk mode, please)?

I don't want the toolbar always there (so disable auto hide does not solve the issue). I would prefer a right-click or use a combination of keys to retrieve the toolbar. The toolbar arise at any time that the mouse is near the top of the screen is too distracting. It should be an option, users can enable or disable or card for anything other than the mouse hovering. The only solution I've seen mentioned is to go the full kiosk with something like R-kiosk, but it's really a too extreme solution to a simple problem. Is there a setting already hidden in the topic-config for this problem or is it a feature request? Thank you.

There is no built-in way to disable this feature to display the toolbars when you move the mouse to the top.

Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #fullscr-toggler { display:none!important; }

The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a userChrome.css (new) file in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userChrome.css.
Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userChrome.css.txt file
  • I unchecked "Check spelling as you type", but Firefox always stresses words cut-and-paste the text in some web applications. How can I stop doing that?

I use an online web mapping application that has an entry of descriptive text boxes and stuff like that. Sometimes I copy blocks of text from a word-processing application in these input boxes because I can format the text in the wp. When I paste text blocks, Firefox don't the red wavy underline on the words he doesn't know. I already disabled "check spelling as you type" but it does make a difference. I don't want no Firefox to check the spelling on these blocks of text that I copy and paste. Sometimes I need to capture images of these blocks of text display in the mapping application and I want that they own. Thank you.

Hi, cor - el, this isn't have a tick in the context menu. but I think I was just stupid on the problem because I restarted my browser and now the underline is not past. Thanks for the reply.

  • Select all the points when feather fill/close a path of the tool. How can I STOP doing this?

Is it possible to change this behvior?

    Hi Schriftenhaus,

In CS6, the path is deselected, but still actively targeted. Vector was significantly redesigned after that, and it seems that the default is now to leave entirely selected. I personally prefer, but I understand wanting to option. I don't know any preference to change the behavior, though. Press A (for the selection/direct selection tool) immediately after the drawing by clicking away from it désélectionnera it.

The link below is to the feedback of an Adobe forum. You might put a request for more options tools, explaining how have completely selected path after you have closed the way disrupts your workflow.

  • How can I stop Firefox opening iTunes or ask me which application I want to use for the links from the itms/itmss?

When I opened iTunes App Store link, Firefox wants to automatically open iTunes. In Options > Applications, I found the itms and itmss content types, which causes this behavior. I can change "always ask them", but when I do, I get a automatic every time I open the link asking me to choose between "iTunes" or "Choosing an Application." To avoid future pop ups, I check "Remember my choice for itmss links" but only after selecting iTunes or another application. There should be a third option there for 'doing nothing '. Is it possible to tell Firefox to ignore completely the content of the itms/itmss?

Is there some prefs the protocol handler if you are looking for the topic: config page?

    • Network.protocol - handler.

You just solved my problem - there is no Network.protocol - handler.external. itms or itmss prefs, so I added the Boolean values:

    Network.protocol - handler.external.itms
    Network.protocol - handler.external.itmss

Set to false and voila! No iTunes, don't ask me what program to use.

Whenever I open a web site, the window comes down asking if I want Firefox to remember the password for this site. I have to click to make it disappear. I just want that he stay away. How do I do that?

  • How can I get the same results from Google Images like in internet Explorer

If I search Google Images in IE8, I get a list of result pages with a fixed number of items per page. These thumbnail images download quickly, and under each image there is useful information about the content of the image and its source. Images on the next page doesn't download not unless if I select the next page in the list, so that the modem activity stops quickly.

When I use the same URL - www.google.com - in Firefox and go to Images, I get pages with an indefinitely large number of images of result. All images are stuck next to each other, and there is no other useful information from the text shown at all. If I try to scroll to the bottom of the screen, images more keep downloading. There seems to be no Google settings available in this view to limit the number of images per page.

Only problems with this is that I am currently limited to 56 KB connection. Images from this point of view download so slowly that they simply never complete in a reasonable time.

However, apart from the speed of connection, there is the question of the useful information from the missing text.

I can search for photos on startpage.com and get something like the old format of Google, but I can't receive the best list of results that I expect from Google. StartPage uses Google for their research on the web regularly, according to a note on the web search display. But if I go to Images, this note disappears.

I call it the traditional Google Images Search in Firefox?

Problem solved by saving a bookmark to Google and then to add by changing the & sout = 1 keyword in the URL.

When Google is accessible with this keyword, it will ship between web and image searches.

This example gets always the classic view of Google images.
