How can I stop firefox to load a third-party file at startup to redirect?
A member of my family recently install some freeware on my computer and now I have a question where it is basically hijacked my browser. For the most part, I have fixed all the problems except one: when ever my browser starts, it attempts to load an external file, which I've deleted for obvious reasons (in fact the whole directory there in), that redirect to a search engine, it is no longer occurs because the file has been deleted. I don't have any success for any part of the path to the file in the subject: config so I guess that it is clean. I copied a profile from a computer completely different to ensure it is not garbage in there. Finally, I already ran an anti-virus scan and two cleaning of Adware programs. Regardless of the boot settings, I always start up a "cannot open file:///C:/ProgramData/Bamcofs/snp.sc"which overall does not seem to be a problem, but it is rather annoying.
PS I rather not have to reinstall unless it is absolutely necessary.
You can check the target line in the shortcut to the Firefox desktop (right click: properties) to make sure that nothing is added after the path to the Firefox program.

How can I stop Firefox from loading a page of Options?
Starting in the past 2-3 days, whenever I start up Firefox as my default browser, with Google as my default search engine, I did for as long as I can remember, a second page load. It's called 'Options', and this is the URL:
Subject: preferences #general
It may be useful, but I don't want to see it every time I start Firefox.
I tried the solution suggested by other users within the ' topic: config "but that has not worked. Thanks for your help. It's not life-changing, but it's boring.

Firefox continues to try to update each time I open the browser, and it then puts a message saying update failed. It does this on both of my computers. We already have the latest version, the other does not. How can I stop Firefox to do this?

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

How can I stop Firefox opening old windows/tabs after a crash?
every time it crashes and I try to re-open the program, it opens all my old tabs and windows. often, these are the videos which all begin to play both. or worse still, it opens the page that did crash in the first place and crashes again.
How can I stop this annoying feature?
If there is no way to stop it, can you recommend a simple browser that don't try to think for you?
The value of the integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the subject: config page in order to get the about: sessionrestore page immediately with the first start after a collision has occurred or the Task Manager was used for the closing of Firefox.
This way, you see if the previous session is not close properly or it crashed and deselects the tabs that you do not want to reopen, but will reopen the other tabs.
