  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

  You can not simply exchange one processor to another. It must be put in correspondence with the motherboard.

  You are referring to a Vista Home Basic Office. Home Basic is usually installed on low-specification PCs which are not powerful enough to run all of Vista's features.

  If you want to run something like Adobe CS5, you would be probably better off buying a new computer Windows 7 to try to upgrade your existing computer.

  I suggest you go to IE 7 instead of IE 8.  Many sites are not compatible with IE 8. I have clients complain about problems after upgrade to IE 8, their problems have been solved by uninstall it and go back to IE7
