How can I uninstall the partial download of Yosemite?

Hello

I've got El Capitan 10.11.4 on a MacBook in mid-2009. But I also have a partial transfer of Yosemite (145KO) for some time I want to uninstall. However, when I try to send to the trash, I get the message that "some elements are in use" - I guess there's an affair with El Capitan. Can anyone tell if I should be OK to go ahead and get rid of Yosemite? I ask because I'm trying to free up space as El Cap has my very slow Mac and it beach balls all the time. I have 4 GB of memory.

Just try to restart your mac and see if you can trash this file after that. There is no "crossover." This partial download file is useless, simply, it was left in an invalid state if necessary as the download failed or was cancelled.
