  2. to when was the last time the scanner was working fine?

  3. you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer?

  If you have any other printer\scanner connected to the computer, disconnect them and check if it works.

  I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the scanner to the computer, also make sure that you install the latest drivers for scanner on Canon website.

  Try to connect to your computer as administrator in safe mode. To enter safemode refer: http://www.ehow.com/how_2052288_start-windows-xp-safe-mode.html

  On the home screen, press ALT + CTRL + DELETE (all three keys at the same time), two times, you will get the classic login prompt. Enter the username as admin and leave the password empty (unless you have set a password for the administrator account). On connection, click on Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> users & passwords, locate your login account and reset the password.

  If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel.   I could be wrong, but in my research for this issue, I learned that there is no solution from Adobe to convert an F4V or a FLV. I talked to Adobe support directly and they told me to buy a 3rd party conversion program. I find absolutely stupid that the only way to embed a video in Animate using a FLV or F4V, and there is no codec to convert video in this format.
