  • How migrations (El Capitan) not come to the photo library?

    Hello

I want to use the Migration Wizard to move my user account for my MacMini BUT put the photo library on a separate hard disk from the system drive.

My MacMini has two internal drives, the library is huge.

The MacBook (early 2008 - running Snow Leopard) old a MacMini (late 2009 - El Capitan cool running).

How migrations (El Capitan) not come to the photo library? It seems to only be set for the entire account.

If I do this, put the library on a separate disk. How to use Time Machine to back up the library?

The separate HARD disk transfer photo library, and then delete the disk that you are migrating.

Time Machine backup disks all connected, unless you put them in the list of exclusions.

  • How well El Capitan will run on an old 15 "model of MacBook Pro"Late 2008"

One of my Macs is an old 15 "model of MacBook Pro"late 2008 ". I know that it supports El Capitan, but what I wonder is really run him El Capitan? What interests me is the user experience of real life?

My MacBook Pro is currently under Snow leopard 10.6.8 and it has 8 GB of RAM installed.

I thought maybe I could take an approach gently gently and install El Capitan on a different hard disk, or maybe partition the internal hard drive and install it on one of the partitions? Any thoughts on this approach?

My internal hard drive is a model 1 TB of Seagate hybrid.

    Thank you!

With 8 GB of ram, it will work fine. Install on an external drive or an internal partition is a wise option that you can get rid of it if it does not meet expectations. Be aware that some of your applications can work more like exceeding 10.6.8 Rosetta support has been dropped.

WHU not you install El Capitan on a current your SSHD partition or separate HARD disk and experience it yourself.  Much, much better than the experience of others.

  • How to make El Capitan to recognize my Canon printer I've done what I think is everything: one clean install of El Capitan (another problem); Reinstall the software from the CD; Anon same impression reset. No luck at all.

How do El Capitan to recognize my Canon printer? I did what I think, that's all I can: clean install of El Capitan (another problem); Reinstall the software of Canon from the CD; same impression reset - my printer shows not yet up! I tried LAN and USB.  No luck at all. The printer does not yet appear upward on the tree of USB in the reporting system.

    What printer model Canon...?

This looks more like a bad USB cable or bad printer.

  • 10.11.5 update problem

    Ok. I'm puzzled.

Last week, I used the App Store to update my El Capitan OS X to the 10.11.5 update. Since my Mac Mini will not stop or restart on its own. I have to use the Terminal to Shut Down command. In Safe Mode I can get it to Shut Down normally in the menu dropdown.

I read online to suspended the process, not to let the OS Shut Down, but couldn't find what might cause the system to shut down properly.

Immediately after applying the update, I checked the battery on my Logitech Cordless TrackMan using Logitech Control Center Control Panel in the system preferences panel. After having closed the Panel of system preferences I noticed he had TWO cases of the Logitech Control Center control panel running in the display of State Office (hold down the command Tab). Not good. I've updated the Logitech Control Center Control Panel to the latest version (3.9.3), but he did nothing to help this problem.

I ran disk utility, first aid, several times on the hard drive and it still reports A all, OK.

I've read how, in El Capitan, Apple took the service repair permissions in disk utility then I ran check/repair the permissions of the Terminal. Still no solution.

    Someone help? Thank you.

Download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.

  • How can I reinstall El Capitan?

I'm really impressed by Sierra to date.  He made my Mac just as slow as a 2000 pre.  I want to reinstall El Capitan.  How can I do this? I have an iMac 21 inch end 2013 model.  Memory is 8 GB 1600 mHz.

You will need to wipe your hard drive and can then restore your backup that you made before the upgrade. You use recovery to wipe and restore.

The only way I've found is to get it on Apple's developer site, but I'm not a developer.  Apple how to flip the switch to the Mac App Store so that it shows up on top of my list?

  • How can I download pages for el capitan? Only the version of the sierra is available on app store.

    Hello

I already bought Apple Pages and Numbers for use on an iMac running El Capitan. Now I upgraded my macbook pro to El Capitan and want to update these programs, but on the App Store, I am only offered a newer version, which requires the Sierra. How can I get the version I need? Thank you, Robert

Have you tried clicking on the icon in the Mac App Store to see what is happening? In the past, the Mac App Store will say that version will not run on your operating system & offer to download the latest compatible version. I don't think this has changed, but I don't have a Mac in El Capitan to try.
