How do I copy files from DVD to hard drive, unzip them, and rip/burn it to a CD?

I am very new to PC and I'm not smart PC.

Like many, I would like to know,

Whether and how.

I can

(1) download Magnatune compressed files on 750meg, a DVD to a HP PC with 35 gigabytes of disk space?

(2) how can I dé-compresser the files. If Windows XP software in the background to ask me to do,

or if I get Winzip or something like that?

(3) how can I get the file uncompressed in Windows Media player, so that I can

(4) put in a list of Burn/Rip, then

(5) Finally, to burn a CD on a blank CD in my CD slot?

My PC will play DVD and CD burning and never gave me any problems within 3 weeks I got it.

(I got it against a charitable organization, and they didn't know much more than I do about this problem).

Thanks and apologies of

ormandygjt

Hello

What is the Magnatune file extension?

If it is a .zip file, then check out the article below to unpack.

  • I want to copy files from one external hard drive to another and can not?

    Hello

I try to copy the photo files and video from one hard disk to another.

The donor 2 TB drive is formatted NTFS and the receiver is 1 TB OSX extended.

There are about 72 000 photos and 475 GB in size. The 56 video about 226 GB files copied with some lacks but then make drag and drop made the other files of 5 or 6.

I tried to drag and drop, but some files have been copied not. After a lot of research through what was had been transferred I found about 5,000 had not copied I then did drag and drop with each of the 20 files or if some copied OK.

The troublesome files kept suggesting that a file "already exists" and stops the process when I clicked ok.

I want to delete the NTFS drive and reformat for OS X extended and then replace them on the 2 TB drive.

What I am doing wrong? Need me a software to copy?

Select the drive in the disk, then Edit/restore utility and select your 2 TB drive in restoration since. This will probably reformat the external hard drive, erase all data.

  • How can I copy music from an external hard drive in a folder of music on my Mac

I used to have a Zune and all my music (about 5000 songs) was on my pc.  I copied all this music on a responsible and external hard drive to my iTunes library on my Mac, but I can't play unless I connect the external hard drive for Mac.  Whenever I try, I get the! and a message that the file is not found.

Is it possible to download the songs from the external hard drive in a folder on my Mac so iTunes will be able to locate them?

With the drive connected, open iTunes. Click the file menu and organize the library.

  • How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive?

How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive without losing the connection to the files audio orig.?

    Thank you for your time,

Since no one answered my call, I sat and researched and studied WaveBurner behavior and I can myself answer my question and solve. Since there were a lot of people asking similar questions on WaveBurner files I will post what I learned.

Whenever you drop your audio files in the list window to make your WaveBurner CD copy not copy your audio files, but relies on the original audio file, where they are located. So whenever you move the files orig. and you open WaveBurner, it can't find those and displays an error window to suggest it will search for the missing file or if you know where he is now lets you find manually. WaveBurner usually place the .wb3 project file that contains everything including your home folder.

For this reason, I reserve now an audio file WaveBurner also folder in my home folder. In order to save themselves from WaveBurner cannot find the audio file, all audio files that I do, I put in my folder of audio files WaveBurner first, then copy them in WaveBurner from there.

When I need to use a bigger hard drive I copy .wb3-WaveBurner projects based, but also my

Sound folder WaveBurner for the home folder on the new hard drive.

WaveBurner is now all audio files without problem.

I hope that this will be a unique problem to someone else. Happy WaveBurning.

    W.W.

    Hello ShamedMonkey,

Thank you for your message.  The problem you are having is because of differences in formatting between PC and Mac.  You can, however, transfer your files between the two.  I will set out what must be done under and limitations of each.
First, you will need to format the drive on your PC.  When you format the PC, you can format it in FAT32 or NTFS.
(You mentioned that you do not see the drive in the computer) To format drive:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'Computer' > select 'manage '.
    Click on "disk management".
In the right pane, you should see your drive > you can then do a right click and 'format '.
    FAT32:
This format will allow you to easily transfer files between the two.  This format becomes problematic when you transfer files more than 4 G.  There is a limit of 4 GB in FAT32, etc. of many movies are bigger than that and cannot be transferred using this format.
    NTFS
This format has no size limitation, however, in its normal state it will be 'Read only' on Mac.  If you will not be able to transfer all the data itself.  While doing some research on the web, it seems that you can use a program called MacFuse on your Mac to change to NTFS files.  I have not confirmed this, but you can give it a try.  If this program works as planned, it would be the way to go.
Please let us know if it did or did not solve your problem.
    See you soon
