How do I know what programs and services should automatically go to start

Original title: System configuration

How can I find out what programs and services should automatically run at startup please help im running almost everything

Hello

You can use these to control which startup programs. Many others who settle start-up are not
really need to be there. As Acrobat Reader (Adobe), Agent of WinAmp and many others who
load chunks of themselves to start more quickly (not a problem on the machines of today ' hui) and to make sure that they
can control the files they support (to be sure that you continue to use only). Those who are not common
examples and not meant as a slam on fine programs.

  • How can you know what drivers and programs are essential and those that can be deleted without harming my computer?

    Original title: completely clueless

I'm totally clueless when it comes to computers, but I try very hard to learn. I am using the help section a LOT, but I can't seem to find an answer to the only thing that makes me crazy. How can you know what drivers and programs are essential and those that can be deleted without harming my computer? I have a very basic net accountant I learn on before I screw up a portable more expensive and I do a cleaning on my C and D drives to improve performance because it runs so slow but it tells me I have the drivers who slow down Windows. I would greatky appreciate any assistance from someone who has the patience of a saint and is willing to take the time to explain it to me, in terms laymans. Thanks in advance

Drivers: you should know what you bought (in your machine) and what * you * want out of it.  If you want stability and things work properly - let alone the drivers.  If you want more performance check (and other games) in the drivers of motherboard chipset and video network from the manufacturers Web site... For more stability stick with the OEM website (HP, Dell, Lenovo - the assembler of the whole machine) and slightly more performance/push the limits (even if they want to work too - so still some stability) - access to websites of its components manufacturer.

With regard to the programs: you can decide what you use and do not use.  If you are not sure, look it up (Google) or ask.

I know that you can remove some programs, but how do I know what ones I can remove without affecting my computer?

We cannot comment on what programs you need to remove. In addition, some programs running in the background and removing will raise questions.

However, you can uninstall programs that have been installed by you. You can go to start-> programs and features-> press enter type. Search for programs that have been installed by you, select them and click on uninstall, individually.
Once uninstalled, you can install another drive as the installation location.
But, before you uninstall, go on-> do work right click on the C partition :\-> click Properties. In the Properties dialog box, click Disk Cleanup. In the Disk Cleanup dialog box, click clean up system files. And then click Ok. This will clean the junk files.

Download and run Ccleaner to clean up the temporary and other files. Caveat to uncheck the toolbar installation if you do not want.

  • How do I know what programs run in background

    HelloW

I want to know if there is a way by which we can know what the programs running in the background that use the network

    Help, please

There are specialized tools that can help you, it depends on what you want or need to do.

But freebies in Windows 7 are "msconfig" and "task manager".

in "search programs and files" type "msconfig" (without quotes) press key.

In the system configuration window that opens, look in the tab. This will give a list of a few programs that will be launched at startup.

In addition, in msconfig, click the tab and click on "resource monitor" then . In the resource monitor, click the tab to give an idea of what programs are using your network interface.

Right-click your taskbar, and then click "start Task Manager". Look in and , to get an idea of what is running. By default your user process list, then click "Show processes from all users" in the process to see extra tab.

    More information - msconfig - http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html

    -Task Manager - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Task_Manager

NOTE: But you don't only things "willy nilly", you need to understand what service/process done what before you start or stop anything.

    What info do you need?

  • How will I know what program/Application is associated with a given file extension?

General question: How can I determine what Application is using a certain file extension? Some are well known, such as .doc for MS Word, MS Excel .xls, PDF for Adobe Acrobat. But is there a master list somewhere which is viewable by the general public?
This question came from what I was gettnig low disk space on my hard drive and do some research, and found a group of 5 files with extension. ECW, for a total of almost 50 MB. After trying for a few hours to find on the Web, what type of program may have created these files, I let fall, back up the files on a CD and has deleted and restarted. So far, no bad consequences, but still a little scary.
I think that all software manufacturers should have to register their extensions with MicroSoft, correct? To repeat: is there a list published, or how to find this information in the future?

    Alphabetical list of filehttp://filext.com/alphalist.php?extstart=%5ED extensions

Scroll to the end, click on the alphabet to find the extension and program to open with.

  • I need to create a space on my hard drive, how do I know what program files / other files etc. to safely remove. See you soon

The original message has been c drive was very low disk space. I have run Chkdsk - apparently very well. I now want to run Defragmenter but she needs more dick than is available space in order to operate. I need to dick free space - what I need to know is how to free up space safely.

    Frannie

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter

  • Re: Programs and services that will be installed

I installed Windows 7 Home 32 on a Toshiba Satellite A210 (no upgrade - new facility) and I then installed all Toshiba drivers from their site. I want to know what programs and services are installed from the three programs:

    -Hardware configuration
    -Utilities
    -Value Added Package

I have installed all three programs, but I can only find this program:

    -TOSHIBA Flash Cards
    -Diagnostic PC TOSHIBA

In the settings of "Flash Cards", I can only disable the hotkey function that is not disabled.

But the F1 to F12 keys still don't work and I can't find Toshiba hardware settings in the control panel.

So I want to check all the programs and services of the three programs on the laptop.

    John

    It's a little complicated.

I guess you remember how it works on Vista and I hope you remember that on your desktop it had placed the shortcut for Toshiba Assist. When you open Toshiba Assist you find the hardware and other utilities and tools from Toshiba.

So you can install help designed for your model of laptop and Vista. I installed it too.

Value added Package contains several tools and utilities:
    -Toshiba components pilot common
    -Toshiba Utilities
    -Toshiba PC Diagnostic tool
    -Toshiba Power Saver
    -Toshiba Button support
    -Toshiba zooming utility
    -Toshiba Flash cards

Installation assistance and you will have access to all important and utility tools.

  • I don't have the money to buy more ram, how to remove programs to get more memory and how do I know which programs remove

I need of more memory, I can't afford to buy it, how to remove stuff to create more memory and how do I know what programs are ok to remove

I think you're confusing terms and certainly confuse us.

RAM/memory (they are identical) is the memory on the computer that is used by programs running as a temporary store for data.  How to reduce the amount of memory used is to close unnecessary programs or does not work as much.  for example close the browser and your e-mail so that the execution of Word program.  You do not need to uninstall programs, run just not, to save memory.

IF you talk about not having enough disk space to store your programs and data, then the way to increase the free space on the disc IS to uninstall unnecessary programs - only you can decide what programs you don't need.  One way to increase disk space is to make sure you have emptied your Recycle Bin to delete the old data files, you don't want to, and uninstall programs.

You need to tell us exactly what error messages you get so that we can determine what your problem is.
