My Windows Defender turned OFF and I can't turn on.

Is it because I downloaded Windows Security Essentials?

If yes how can I uninstall Windows Defender from my computer because it does not show in the control panel

    Hello

MSE disables by default the Defender

and no you can not uninstall then reinstall the Defender

It is part of the vista operating system

read this information on the Defender:

    ·                         If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default

the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender

and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware

It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do

and if you need to change startup programs read this information on the other methods of doing it without using defender

    using msconfig read this tutorial;

How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista

Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup

    http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

    and also try this program;

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services more

  • How can I uninstall windows 7 and return to windows vista?

    Uninstall windows 7 Home premium

How to uninstall windows 7 Home premium package and re install windows vista Home premium SP1

    Given what you have...

Get/use your Windows Vista Home Premium media (and product key) to start to go and destroy (create new partitions and format) everything that you installed and install again.

Once you have Windows Vista Home Premium installed, get SP1 and SP2 (in order) to get Vista to update Service Pack, then get all the post-SP2 hotfixes/updates to update installed.

You also need to locate, download, and install all the drivers for hardware devices,-either by the manufacturer of the computer as a whole (if it's a Dell, Lenovo, Gateway, HP, etc.) or by each manufacturer of components support pages (Intel, Realtek, various manufacturers of motherboard, AMD/ATI, nVidia, Broadcom, etc..)

You can then install all other applications (office suites, photo-editing suites, video editing suites, Internet plugins, alternative browsers, Internet plugins, etc) and activate the paid applications using the appropriate series/product numbers.

At this point, you can restore all your backups (documents, music, photos, emails, contacts, databases, spreadsheets, presentations, Favorites/internet Favorites, etc.) on the computer.

  • How do we uninstall Windows Defender signatures

    Kaspersky is slow.

I had already uninstalled defender of windows using Add / Remove programs and it does not appear in this list more, but Kaspersky technical support told me that I also had to uninstall windows defender signatures.

How this, or check that they are really already uninstalled?

I don't really see an uninstall issue.

    Bob

    Hello

As I said, you can stop Windows Defender from running as shown above. It is up to
Windows and cannot be uninstalled and there is absolutely no reason to do so since
When it is not loaded at startup it has no influence on the system. Similarly, the definitions
    do not be uninstalled.

If you are having problems, it's Kaspersky bringing as usual. Their support is just
puffing smoke, confusing the issue, rather than admit their questions. BTW Kaspersky
knows this as well because they say something that they know is incorrect, that means
either they don't care or simply refuse to admit the real question.

Bottom line is that if you stop Windows Defender to run or the definitions
    no influence on the system.

Note: even though I am an MVP, I'm not a Microsoft spokesperson nor I tell
I do not have to be the truth. Kaspersky is your problem.

  • Question: How do I uninstall Windows XP Professional in an old laptop and do a fresh install on another computer? __

Background: I have a legitimate copy of Windows XP Professional (license) currently installed on two computers, a desktop computer and a laptop.  I want to uninstall Windows XP from the laptop and use my privilege to a right to install this OS on a second computer.  How do I uninstall and install on a second computer, download the new Microsoft/computer to recognize that I have a copy only installed on 2 machines?

It's interesting. As far as I know, you can only install system builder OEM licenses on a single machine, not two. You must have a volume for more than one license key and I think that minimum volume licenses is 5. But of course the right people to ask are people of Microsoft licenses.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/licensing/ServiceCenter/home.aspx

You should probably check with them to see what license you really. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How can I uninstall windows vista if it is not authentic

How to uninstall windows vista if it is not authentic

    Hello

You do not uninstall as such.

You would normally buy a legitimate operating system disk / license and do a clean install with it, by removing the non-genuine Vista during the installation process.

Or you can download this program (Darik Boot and Nuke) > make a Bootable Disk with him > Boot and wipe the hard drive of everything:

    http://www.DBAN.org/

You can buy a legitimate operating system if you want to continue to use this computer.
