How do the Bios. Satellite 300CDT

I got an old Satellite S300CDT.
It has Windows 98 Second edition and it works fine.
I have no CD of any medium without that utilities installed Toshiba how to the configuration of the bios?.
You can get to the configuration of the Bios on a laptop?
I'm used to the main line of the PC and all you do is press DELETE when it starts, but that does'nt works on this laptop.

Hi Mervyn,

The usual access to the BIOS is to press ESC followed by F1, although some models require just to press F2 to access the CONFIGURATION of the BIOS menu.

Kind regards

  • Satellite M30: How disable the BIOS boot password?

    Hello

Before my vacation, I activated the startup password in the Bios. Now I want to turn this off, but it does not work. In the Bios, I can go to the Security tab, but I can't change the settings with the F5/F6 key or space. A beep is all I get. Entering on this point, I wonder to set a new password.

Anyone know how to disable the password for a Satellite M30? Please note that I have not forgotten my password, I can always start the machine.

    THX,

    Werner.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.
    Good bye

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Satellite l675d-s7052

Toshiba service station a few days ago was told to upgrade the BIOS to 1.70 (I had 1.50). After this update my adapter WIFI doesn't work yet. Sometimes he has work 5 minutes after starting the laptop, sometimes more time.
Anyone has any ideas how to install a previous version of BIOS?

    Hello

Your laptop belongs to the Toshiba U.S. series and all BIOS versions can be downloaded here:

    [Driver satellite L675D-S7052 page | http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2760012]

But I think you need to update the WLan driver and need to disable the option WLan Card to avoid unexpected problems of WLan to save energy

  • Failure of the BIOS - Satellite Pro P200 - 16 c

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Satellite Pro P200 today. I then tried flashing the BIOS through windows with program Flash BIOS on Toshiba driver download page. I used the program flash for Vista because none is available for Windows 7. The program started and took a backup of my old version of BIOS and then Flash the BIOS. Then after a while an error occurred saying that this operating system was not supported.

Alright. I restarted the computer and he was going to access the BIOS to see if the new version was done to install or not. But I can't access the BIOS now since the TI of suddenly password protected. I tried Google known standard Phoenix BIOS passwords, but they do not work. Now I've mistyped the password if often the computer won't let me even start without entering a correct password.

How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?

    Help, please...

    Hello

You used not compatible BIOS and it seems that module ROM BIOS was not flashed properly.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but to contact the ASP of Toshiba in your country,
Guys could remove the password and can reflash the BIOS using a traditional disk BIOS version and the crisis.

    > How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?
No, remove the CMOS battery would not help because as far as I know that the CMOS battery is not removable on laptops just ASP can clear the BIOS password.

You can also start the recovery procedure using key C. place the recovery CD in the DVD device, press the power button / stop and hold C button. • How downgrade the BIOS on Tecra S11 - boring CPU

I have a BIOS that is "solve" the problem of high pitched noise high on the i5 CPU.
But I have the latest version of the BIOS and since then I can not downgrade to the older BIOS which allows to "solve" the problem.

    * My question is how do I get the BIOS? *
Because I send my Toshiba to RMA more because they will not fix it!

My Tecra S11 went to RMA 2 × and 2 different authorized Toshiba service approximately 1 month partner. None of them repaired my laptop! More annoying is that the Hungarian services are absolute useless! I have a 2 year problem, with the high pitched noise high CPU.

They have not replaced the defective processor, they replaced the motherboard! for no reason. OMG!
Be very careful when you buy PC Toshiba laptop in Hungary and is not due to lack of the Toshiba but authorized service partners!

    Please, Toshiba do something!

    Hello

Why do you think that CPU must be replaced?
I guess that the technicians ran some diagnostic tests which can detect defective parts, I guess the CPU was not affected, but the real question was the motherboard (because it was replaced).

However, what s your problem exactly?
Why you want to downgrade the BIOS?

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Portege Z30 - B?

    Hi all

I updated the BIOS on my laptop Z30-B-119, and it is much worse than the original BIOS, so I want to downgrade it.
There is no way to save the original BIOS during the update and the previous BIOS is not available on the site.

Someone has the original BIOS and knows how to extract?

Maybe someone knows how to contact Toshiba technical team directly? (Don't see what they have implemented in new BIOS, I have no hope they read on this forum or user opinions).

If you're wondering why I want to downgrade and what's wrong with him, see below for an explanation.

I was convinced that the new BIOS might resolve the problem with the fan, which works well too early, but it turned out they made much worse! The fan will now light at 42 °. Seized 50 °, which was already a Toshiba engineers stupid choice, provided that the side of the CPU temperature is 105 °, so that they could keep the laptop quiet at least until 60 °, especially as many people's complaint of the fan in this model. Instead, Toshiba has done the opposite and lowered the temperature even more.

How foolish choice their engineers do, I will never buy another Toshiba and will not recommend anyone buy their products. But since I have already made the mistake one bought a Toshiba laptop, I hope that I will be able to downgrade the BIOS or contact them to request an update.

Let me know if you know how to do it.

Unfortunately I can't find out how to clear the CMOS, but you can request a certified partner to remove the BIOS password. But I don't know if they will be fresh for the deletion, the greater part of the ASP´s that so get ready this basic need to pay something for it.

  • How Flash the BIOS if you cannot start Windows

    Hello

I have a BIOS virus which prevents ANY version of any operating system Windows to boot at all.

(Linux will start and run fine)

So, to solve this problem, I need re-flashing the BIOS.

Problem is... HP offers only the BIOS as an executable Windows utility.

Can someone help me figure out a way to Flash the BIOS WITHOUT Windows?

    THX

Now, in response to this topic, I discovered a solution...

    HPBIOSFILE.exe - writeromfile /-writehexfile /-writehdrfile

I hope this helps some of you.

    To use this...

    (1) download the executable file (.exe) for BIOS update for your motherboard

    (2) a copy of the program flashing of Award Bios BACK (Google it, easy to find)

    (3) obtain a downloadable copy of the BACK 6.22 (of Microsoft) and create files to start this one.  (possibly another computer to do this).

    (4) start your computer affected in BACK 6.22

    (a) copy the files in a directory

"(b) using the bold line above... type the name of your BIOS instead of the HPBIOSFILE.exe file ' and run the command.

You will find yourself with a ROM file, a BIN file and a header file.

You can now re-Flash your BIOS on your HP computer outside of a Windows environment.

    ENJOY!
