How in a dv7 - 4153cl?

I want to remove the drive of my dv7 - 4153cl. It seems easy. Unscrew the five screws holding the big sign T-shape at the rear and lift the Panel. Loosen the screws, but the group refuses to budge. I found the service manual c02642701.pdf, and he confirmed what seemed obvious.  The T-shaped Panel is called the hard drive cover. The five screws are secure, which means that they are not supposed to fall when they are loose. Lift the base of the T first.  I can get the tip of a screwdriver under the Panel, but the Committee moves not except at the base of the T. I feel that the other three screws are loose. It feels like there is a hidden somewhere clip. Suggestions for access are welcome.  Thank you.

The expert agreed there are hidden tabs. Here's what I found while learning to get into my computer. Details may change as the production cycle continues. I guess HP is finding the right balance between klutzy users keeping on and leaving a quickly trained technician. Place the top of the system down with the hinges is facing you. Then the coverage problem resembles the letter T, with the stem facing you. BR to ensure that all the screws are loose, but don't forget that they still held and do not fall. At the very center of the lower part of the stem, gently lift. Slide something under the cover to maintain the tension and to avoid losing the little prograss so far. Then work on the right side of the stem of the T.  To halfway to the top of the rod there is a small tab and a corresponding cavity in the body.  Do not hunt for them yet. A little more towards the top of the stem is a place to raise gently, about 4 or 5 slots in the top of the vent in the stem. When the right side of the stem is free, insert something to keep him free. Then push the rod to the right to release the much larger Switchblade on the left. Insert more things so that your progress is not broken. There are two small tabs on the bottom of the right side of the cross piece of the T. Certain combinations of techniques shoud work. Push the lower part of the stem to the right.  Carefully lift the points of access along the right edge of the top piece. One is to halfway between the screws and the top edge up to now.  The other is the same distance from the screw toward you. Insert more filling. Then push the T away from you to release the larger tabs on the left. Finally, pull the cover to release the three large tabs along the top of the T.

If you are prompted for a driver to support the hard drive during the installation of Windows? It's because the Manager of storage on this laptop isn't RAID, AHCI and Windows 7 isn't this RAID driver available on the installation disc. But fear not only intel makes the driver available here:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/24779/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

You need the F6 driver for 32 or 64 bit one correct installation that you do.  If 64-bit, you must f6flpy-x 64.zip. These are compressed files (.zip). Download the .zip to a different computer and extract the .zip to a USB key and when you reach him point the Windows installation when it is asked for a driver, navigate to the location where the files were extracted from the thumb drive. This should allow you to proceed with the Windows installation.

  • RAM up grade hp pavilion dv7

    I have a HP pavilion dv7 - 4153CL

It has 4 gig of ram and can go up to 8 GB. What I've read, it's a few times you can get 16 gig if your Bios is up to date. Is this true and if so how I updated the Bios so I can run more ram?

    Hello

Pass in review Page 3 in your product manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02642701.pdf

Your laptop supports only up to 8GB.

There is nothing that can be done in the BIOS of your laptop to increase size.

If you plan on overclocking in the BIOS - to increase the speed of the RAM, which can also be done in this laptop,

Most of the laptops available for daily use is not configured for this.

    Hello

I think that HP RC1762307/01 is an IR transmitter. You need an IR receiver on you laprop. To find a receiver to match with the HP RC1762307/01 IR could be a challenge, because the receiver must know what are the commands from the transmitter.

  • How can I activate my HP TrueVision webcam (HP Envy dv7;) Windows 8)

Really, I'm losing my patience here. My laptop is brand new. I remember the first time I started it, I clicked on CyberLink YouCam and the machine worked. I even took a picture with her.

Since then, I try to activate the webcam and it doesn't work. I wanted to video chat on Skype but the webcam was not enabled, there is no choice of webcam.

I've read that if you go on Facebook and click 'Change your profile picture' and then 'take a picture' it activates the webcam, but not in my case.

When I run CyberLink YouCam, it says that he has not found webcam and if I activate it if I a.

So here's my question: how to turn on the webcam? Please, give me the instructions on how it works. What I have to press the key combination or whatever.

I'm the HP dv7-7202eg with Windows 8. Bought and used in Austria, if that information makes a difference :-)

If the webcam was working before, it may be "stuck".  If this is the case, then a reset can throw everything is free and you'll be "back in business" in a few minutes.  If the reset does not fix it, there are a few more options.  Stop when it works.

Downstairs is a Help Guide that goes over the tests and the options you have available on the software to help you solve the problem.

This is a whole new system. If all else fails, please do call HP and ask for help!  Just because the webcam worked before doesn't mean it works now.  These webcams little are fragile and they can break - the wires are tiny and they can be crushed, twisted or broken at any time.  If the tenacious webcam does not work, call HP and ask for help.  Something may have been missed or nit can be broken!

  • Pavilion DV7: How to make windows 10 talk to external monitor?

    I changed my Pavilion DV7 (product # ww185av) from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Since then, the laptop appears on my external monitor (HP x 2511).

    The screen remains black.

Laptop computer connection and monitor worked very well just before the switch.

If I P-window and choose "duplicate", the laptop tells me that I don't have the optimal resolution and it changes the screen resolution of mobile, but the external monitor stays black.  Somehow, I found once a "detection" option to get another monitor, but windows cannot find a second monitor. I tried to re-allocation of places the connection htmi several times.

I suspect the video driver, because my laptop wonder is no longer on whether I want to change GPU when I plug/unplug power supply.  I suspect that it is running low power GPU, and he never liked talking to the screen when executing that GPU.  But I have not found a panel that allows me to spend.   My video drivers are updated according to windows and hp advisor software.  Some HP site says that HP does not support windows on machines more than 10 2 years, one of which is mine.

Any thoughts on how to get the laptop to talk to the screen?  Should I just go back to Windows 7?

The expert event is over, no one offers a 'plan B', and my Windows 10 grace period is exhausted.

I came back to Windows 7 and my monitor works fine again.

    Hello!

    I got help.

How can I enable AHCI in dv7 6199us? And install windows on a SSD?

Intel based computers, like yours, are usually set to "RAID", which is a superset of "AHCI". Basically, if the BIOS won't let you choose between "IDE mode", "AHCI" and "RAID", leaving in the RAID led to you everything done "AHCI". In this case there is no need to activate the AHCI, as RAID will support an SSD anyway.
