How is my radeon 8870 m uses system ram memory or it's own memory?

Hello

Recently, I bought a Dell inspiron laptop 37371. After many pilots of adjustment disorder for the radeon 8870 m a graphics card on windows 7, I decided to install windows 8.1 to solve the problem. I have instaled drivers and it seemed that everything worked fine (I downloaded the free version of FurMark and msi kombustor and checked in Afterburner). However, I installed TechPowerUp GPU - Z and it tells me that my memory size is 0 and type GDDR5 memory. How can I see my graphic card uses memory wich? Thanks in advance.

It has 2G of its own RAM, but keep in mind the AMD GPU is not a true discreet GPU - he works in tandem with the Intel GPU on the CPU, it has no memory of his own - which uses system memory.

It is also true that Vista/7/8 fine RAM video system by design.

  • Your system RAM is low Message

Can someone help me. How can I find what is using my RAM so that it is low (because it does not). I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium o/s, 32-bit version. I have 2 GB of RAM and the computer had no mods. 250 GB HD

I just made a recovery in the factory, for this reason (and other reasons), which are all cleared and the computer is better than it was. But still the message on the Low RAM

The only program that I have reinstalled is norton security. That is the program that gives me the message. When I run the Diagnostics option. But the report does not say what is using the RAM, only he is low? I thought that goes back to the factory would clearly this, because they come not new with low RAM?

The diagnosis of Norton above were made with the computer started upward, but don't use it. I had opened only norton to run the check to see if it has been fixed by recovery.

Thank you for your time and any assistance that you can provide.

    Hi Erico,

I appreciate really all the info you provided, and I will use it to check and adjust if necessary.

I think that some articles, I have not explained clear enough? Sorry if this is the case.

Being a novice, I have to be sure of what I understand before making any changes.

1 / is the MSG original post (subject of RAM memory) No Windows, his diagnosis of Norton tool that comes with the security program. It was there before I made the recovery and always gave the same MSG after recovery. It was one of the reasons to make a recovery, to get the RAM to factory that is. not low. I could never understand why norton said he was weak, even after a recovery? Thought norton would come back with the report saying that RAM was good after the restart (not the case?). I was wondering if anyone could shed some light for example. Maybe norton is not exact, trust your windows you just say.

2 / the recovery Image was a thought later, thinking I can't made a recovery in the factory, because I didn't drive till much later after the use of the computer. I thought that maybe I actually recorded a picture with my consumption of the drive? I also did not know when the image for recovery, was recorded in the partition on drive D (the drive used for recovery). If this was recorded at the same time as my drive the meaning also with my consumption?

Or if in fact the recovery image was already on the D drive in its original form, regardless of what I do or have done.

    What is the pagefile?

Once again very grateful for your time. I learn from your efforts and using the information that you provide.

    A big thank you

  • Use of the memory of DB TimesTen

    Hello

Can someone help me understand how a TT DB (Data Store) uses the RAM/HDD (Exalytics).

    Consider the following scenario:

I have a PERM data store tt_demo: 100 GB and Temp: 50 GB.
Say that I loaded a few tables in the data store and used 50 GB of PERM (determined from dssize).
    Now,.

    1. is the size determined by dssize will be equal to the size of the file checkpoint on the HDD of the same database?
That is to say, is the file size of each checkpoint at this time will also be 50 GB?

Personally, what I observed there is a huge difference. Why is it so?

    2. is the store of data using 50 GB of RAM right now or it will lock together 100 GB.
Even with Temp space, the data store will use RAM as much as the current temp space is used? or will she be booking together 50 GB of RAM for Temp space as well?

Personally what I observed, is that the memFree in proc/meminfo attribute even if the data store is loaded or unloaded from the RAM. So, what is the use of the unloading of a data store?

I hope that this is clear in what I am trying to understand here.
Please help me understand this concept.

    Thank you

Checkpoint files are rare. This is why the size reported by p. ex. "method" are not really the size occupied on the disk. The 'size' as reported by 'method' is the highest reflection "address block" which was used. Who will be affected by many different factors. But none of this really matters. A checkpoint file will never be greater than PermSize + ~ 64 MB and it is essential that (both) the file can grow to this size. So just plan for space = 2 * PermSize + ~ 128 MB for checkpoint files. You can use the DSN Preallocate = 1 attribute before you initially create the database and this will cause files from control point to write to their full size initially (i.e. "pre-allocate us" all necessary space) instead of cultivating their size over time. Note that this will make the data base initial creation very slow if the PermSize is large...

  • How to use system recovery after OS change to the g4 pavilion 1305 to the

    Hello

    My name is SUNIL GUPTA

I have laptop model g4 1305-UA Pavilion, preinstalled OS Win7 Home Basic 64 Bit.

I was changed for Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with clean install.

And now I want to reinstall Windows 7 64 Basic Home Edition.

Am that I reinstall with my recovery disks or not?

and if so please tell me...

    Hello

You can use the following method to create your own family Windows 7 Edition installation disk basic 64-bit.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC. However, it not there no download directly available for Windows 7 Home Basic Edition, so you'll need to download another version (one will do, but the link below is for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - the source is Digital River).

    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

For the key on your label of COA to work, you must now use the method described in the following link to convert this ISO to an all-version Installer.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/85813-Windows-7-universal-installation-disc-create.html

Once that is done, use an application like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You could possibly need for your laptop can be found, additional drivers and software here.

Built-in memory is allocated by the system.  As more video memory is required, is allocated.  There is no way that you can change.
