• How low can I put my memory limit?

  I read a little on the definition of reserve and limit the values of memory and CPU for virtual machines and I understand what they're doing. I'm not really sure, that's what say the numbers in the last three columns of my picture attached vmperf1.jpg or vmperf2.jpg. Unless I don't really know what I'm talking about you, "Guest Mem %" seems to indicate that the virtual machine uses this percentage of memory, it was allocated by ESX. If this is the case, and the virtual machine is not a widely used or very busy machine, could I theoretically put my memory quite low limit to find some resources? Help me understand these numbers. If you have any links so that I can RTFM, that would be great.

  Here is a link to the guide to management of resources of 3.5.  It will be useful.  I'll make sure to take a look at the memory usage of server over time (week/month) before you set your limits too low as server memory consumption can vary considerably depending on the load.

  What we are talking about here? LAN or internet.
  You have four servers, or you can access four servers?
  If you have access to four servers in how far they are from you and you have
  a good modem, and your internet connection meet the criteria I mentioned in the previous post?

  Using vmware converter, you can make V2V. But it's lenthy process.

  Using the command mode, it is very easy to downgrade Hardware version 7 to 4.

  -> poweroff vm

  -> Make sure vm dosen't have snapshot

  -> to connect to the console PuTTY esx

  Edit the vm's vmx

  folder/vmfs/volume/datastore/vm VI / vm.vmx

  data store-> where is the vm

  vmfolder-> vm (as win2k3) file

  Edit instead of

  "virual hw.version = 7.

  TO

  "virual hw.version = 4.

  and

  scsi0.virtualdev = "lsisas01068".

  TO

  scsi0.virtualdev = "free".

  Save it.

  Then edit file hard hardware version using

  VI/vmfs/volume/datastore/vmfolder/vm.vmdk

  Edit

  DDB.virtualh HW version = "7".

  TO

  DDB.virtualh HW version = "4".

  save it and turn on your virtual machine

• How to optimize the WRT 400n for Internet TV

  I've been using a WRT 400n for awhile with 2 pc... a tower near him and a computer laptop about 50 ft, in another room. As much, I would say I am only using the 2.4 GHz to channel 11 band.

  We have just added a Sony Bravia HD TV and a Sony Blu - ray player VD (which is really, as far as I can see, a cool internet access device which can read the DVD). Favorite use is to watch TV shows and movies from Amazon. Problem is, the streaming is very uneven and sometimes what Amazon calls 'connection speed' (which I think is really the network bandwidth) gets so low that the buffering will fail and lose us everything we see.

  So, my question is, how to optimize?

  1. Can I configure the WRT 400n somehow so that the TV / DVD device combination uses 5.0 GHz and this could help. If this is the best option, where can I find detailed advice?
  2. Y at - it than available th firmware update might help?
  3. Could I consider an access point or a Repeater?
  4. Should I go for a router upgraded?
  5. Displacement of the top would REALLY help? I am very reluctant to do this - it is a major concern, but if it's the only option...

  As you can tell, I am naïve in these things and would really appreciate wise counsel!

  1. the recommendation mentions of connection speeds, for example 10 Mbps. This has nothing to with the frequency band use for a Wi - Fi connection.

  2. the specifications for the BDP-S780 says: ' Wi - Fi built in: 802.11 b/g/n. It does not support the band 5 GHz. 5 GHz band is not an option.

• Low volume compared to my original Video Clip

  I just got my new 8 GB Clip more this week after using my original 2 GB Clip for 2 years and love it. Unfortunately, I noticed that the volume of the Clip Plus is a little lower than my video. I have done all the stuff with the control panel and the region (tried in North America and rest of the world, put the volume on 'High' setting) but is still not as strong as my old Clip. And forget the 'Normal' setting, it's just laughable how low that is. But if anyone has noticed this difference in volume between the old Clip and the Clip Plus? Is there a way to make it as strong as the old Clip most Clip? Thank you.

  IIRC the volume reduction was changed in an update firmware for the Clip V1. If I play my V1 Clip with firmware.18 50% in volume, it is about equal to my V1 Clip with firmware.35 to 75% of the volume. The volume of 100% full power even sounds good. I think that the scale has been changed for lower volume at least for sensitive IEMs who played too strong with smaller settings. I also believe that the balance of volume Clip + is equal or very close to the version of the software to scale in the Clip V1 and V2.

  I want to add an audio PCIe interface to my SFF 760. Pc specifications list the PCIe location as "low profile", but I don't know how low profile means here. How can I determine if the card I want will be good or not for this low profile PCIe slot please?

  Never mind. I've found a workaround. There is a usb-powered interface that will allow me to be driven from the 760's monitor, no lack of usb ports on the 760.

• UAD 2 plugins allows me to bounce back, despite the low use of DSP

  I would go back on the issue of the UAD-2 do not allows to bounce, with error message "UAD plugin has been disabled. DSP passed overhead. "But my DPS said only 46% or even less. I've got two UAD 2. It seems to be random to do this, sessions which, apparently, are meaningless, but the main thing is I'm really sick of dealing with this problem.   I don't really know.  I can't imagine that's the case, but 1-2 second buffer size seems completely there.  A few things to try solve the problems:

  1. sign problem and record under a new session.  We will use this to test

  2 remove each plugin UAD, save, then restart hearing and open the session.  Do you still have the defects on the crossfades?

  3. If so, remove any other plugin and repeat.  Still problems?

  4 otherwise, how low you can reduce latency/buffer size, before you get glitches in playback?

  I believe that you have sent in the past, but if you can send a new session SESX file that shows these problems, we can put it in the debug on our side and see if there are any clear bottlenecks.  However, I know at least the UAD-2 personally someone who doesn't have these issues at all, at least with newer versions.  You can send the session file to [email protected]
