How many times am I allowed to legally move my installation of windows?

FIRST EXPLANATION: I have a legal copy of windows, I bought in 2009 and have owned since.  I've never paid this copy, sold or otherwise, let it leave my possession.  I've never used this copy on several systems at once.  I re-enabled it on various material different versions that I've changed parts and systems, but in these cases, the older generation has been formatted out of existence.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Hey everyone - I ran into a strange situation and I can't seem to get fixed within Microsoft.

I have a legal copy of Windows 7 Ultimate that I've owned for 7 years.  I took it from a conference of developers some time ago.  It ' an edition of signature Steve Balmer, is not that it means a lot.

Anyway, I was happily using the OS on my system and construction tests.  As part of my job/hobby, I build and test different hardware configurations.  As you know when you change parts usually the CPU and HARD drive, but sometimes more than that, you'll have to reactivate.  I've been reactive over the years without problem, until this weekend.

Chips out of my system and I have rebuild as a new image with my usual license.  But don't tell me the license key is blocked and cannot be unblocked... making it basically useless.  I called and they said to call sales.  I called sales and they said to call support.  I spend hours on the phone with at least 10 reps of MS, and no one could help you.

The only suggestion I got was to buy another license, which seems ridiculous.  I own a legal copy and MS does not let me use it.

What are my options here?

Is there a limit to the number of times where Microsoft will allow you to activate Windows on the same computer with the same configuration?

    Thank you

    Hi Victor,

    The answer to your question would be both 'yes' and 'no '.

    IIRC, there is a limit on the number of times your license can be activated via the Internet.

    However, after the limit is reached, you can still call them for telephone activation.

    I have a MacBook Air (early 2014), with a processor i5 and 4 GB of RAM. It will be 2 years from November 2016. Summer's going hard for me for a while now and works very well without any problems. I use applications like Final Cut, Motion 5 and Xcode and I am satisfied with the performance of such a light machine.

    Apart from the information on my Mac, I have a question about proper use to optimize the performance and life of it. How many times have I stopped him? I use my Mac a day should I allow to sleep when I do not use as it has little effect on the battery and allows me to pick up where I left off. Should I only stopped when loading or is it okay to sleep by loading too? Should I stopped him every month or so or just during the software updates as I prefer to leave is majority of sleep of the time it won't have a long amount of time without me using it.

    How many times can I transfer my license from one computer to another?

    If it is a retail license, you can transfer as many times as you want as long as it is removed from the previous computer, on which it was installed.

    If it is preinstalled on your computer, it is related to the first computer on which it is installed.

    The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

    -OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

    -OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

    -OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

    -OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • If I buy Windows 7 OS, how many times am I going to be able to reload my complete OS in case that I have to due to virus attacks?

    I understand that my XP Pro. Operating system will not be supported after 2014. I'm considering buying Windows 7 OS for my computer Netronics. The complete set of OS software seems to be, plus about $ 400. My computer is old, 2 HD CPU Speed with 750 MB of ram. I hope that I can move the ram to 1 GB or more.

    The full retail license allows you to reinstall and reactivate as many times as you like on the same computer.

    Windows can be activated at any number of times, but your re-activation experience will vary depending on how you acquired Windows.

    • If you acquired Windows through buying the retail (product in box), you can activate via Internet the first five times. Activations are allowed but must be supplemented by telephone.

    • If you buy Windows preinstalled on a computer, reinstalling require no additional activation measures unless significant material changes have been made.

    To activate Windows on this computer, follow these steps:

    Open Activation of Windows by clicking on the Start button > click computer > click Properties > click on "click here to activate Windows now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    If you need to reload Windows 7 often, I suggest you invest in an external hard drive, when you first install and activate Windows 7, you must create a system image.

    When you need to reinstall Windows 7 in the future, simply restore the image of the system, it will exempt the need to reactivate Windows 7.

    Make a significant change, however, if reactivation by phone:

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    I don't think that there is a limit to how many times you can update your app, Apple should allow each update as long as it is an improvement as new features or bug fixes etc.

  • How to check, how many times the modulo % again.

    Hello

    Suppose you have an enterFrame which increases a value:

    In this case, speed is increased by 4 every time.

    my_value 4

    my_value 8

    my_value 12

    my_value 16

    my_value 20

    my_value 24

    my_value 28

    my_value 32

    my_value 36

    my_value 40

    my_value 44

    my_value 48

    my_value 52

    This value is stored in a variable called my_value;

    If you want to have a maximum and the result values back to 0, you can use the % modulo
    In my example, the maximum is 50. So I draw (50% my_value) and see what it again and does not
    more than 50. But how can I count how many times it reached its maximum?

    [as]

    code:

    var my_value = 0;

    var my_speed = 4;

    var countloops = 0;

    this.onEnterFrame = function() {}

    my_value += my_speed;

    doSomething (my_value);

    }

    function doSomething (myvalue) {}

    var maxValue = myvalue 50%;

    if (maxValue > = 50) {}

    trace ("loop");

    countloops ++;

    }

    trace ("maxValue:" + maxValue);

    }

    [/ ACE]

    Is anyone have a good idea to count the loops?

    Thank you!

    Kind regards
    Chris.

    What you'll want to do, is have a currentValue, that allow you to compare against the checkValue.  The currentValue starts at zero and only changes when the checkValue is not equal.  If they are equal then you don't call updateLoop function... If they are not equal, that means the checkValue comes to change again if you want to then call the updateLoop function and adjust the currentValue to match once more the checkValue.

  • I used 'Customize Firefox' to change toolbars show, and now the Firefox Customize, tab keeps appearing no matter how many times I close.

    The window customize Firefox and tab guard popping open at seemingly random times. This continues to be no matter how many times I close.

    One possible reason is that if it was added as a second 'Home tab' in which case it will be displayed in each new window (Ctrl + n) and every time that you click the Home button.

    To verify that you can use the page Options, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

    Look for a vertical bar character at the heart of the area that separates the two addresses. A simple example with short URLS:

    https://www.mozilla.org/|about:customizing

    The bar certainly can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar, then the bar itself (I suggest to remove the last bar so things don't accidentally get it together).

    I would like to know who among these numbers have occurred and how many times. For example (just to have as an example): number 10 repetitions 5 times, number 13 repeated 3 times, 24 repetitions 9 times.

    Repeats = duplicates.

    I want to know all the repetitive number and how many times they repeat.

    Is there some kind of formula I can use to get there. It would be good to have the sorted result. For example:

    32 repeats 10 times

    24 repeat 9 times

    6 reps 8 times

    5 repeat 7 times

    22. repeat 6 times

    10 repeats 5 times and so on.

    Hello

    Problem of three steps:

    1. Determine the distinct values
    2. Count the number of times each appears in the table
    3. Sort by value or frequency (or both).

    The first step is easily handled by copy separate Automator Service, a Service of Automator, written by SGIII. A link to the file in post June 21 of the SG in this thread: Re: Analyzing column (maybe not the correct wording)

    After downloading and installing the service, select the cells containing the numbers, call the service, and then select the first regular (ie. non-header) cell to a new table and the dough.

    (The following assumes the new table has a header row, no column header, and you have selected - click - cell A2 before pasting.)

    You will get a list of distinct numbers in a single column (A2 - A34, of your sample and support of note).

    To count the numbers:

    In this example, the existing table is named 'Table 1'

    Enter the following formula in B2 the new table, and then fill up to the last line of the column B:

    = COUNTIF (Table 1::B:G, A)

    Results should be as shown:

    Sort the results on column (value) or B (frequency)

    Two types (A, then B) will be put in order of frequency, with values appear the same number of times sorted by value within this group.

    Kind regards

    Barry

    You could try your history unless you delete history after each session.

    Command + Y should open Safari history or in the Safari menu bar, click on: history > view history

    Otherwise, find how many times you have visited a site specific Web is impossible.

  • How many times firefox automatically save the Favorites of the user?

    In the example given in the tutorial of Firefox, it would seem that Firefox performs an automatic backup of the Favorites of the user in a random manner, that is, sometimes daily and sometimes several days (weeks) pass without backup automatically bookmarks in Firefox. No one knows how many times we rely on Firefox by performing an automatic backup of bookmarks? I'm new to Firefox and want to know if I need to perform manual backups regular bookmarks for more safety in case of crash. Thank you!

    Firefox will create JSON backup each day you launch Firefox. If you keep your computer and do not close Firefox then it may not be a JSON backup created.

    If you close Firefox and no backup is created on the next start, then you can have an extension interference or other problems with your software folder or cleaning of profile (e.g. CCleaner) which removes backups.
