How reocver Bitlocker encrypted Partition

I typed by mistake in the Command Diskpart and I lost all my partitions. I think I lost the MBR table / parition. Now the drive is indicated not allocated. I tried to rebuild the partition table, all NTFS partitions are detected, but Bitlocker encrypted Partition is always shown not allocated. Can someone help me please? How to rebuild the partition table which will rebuild my Bitlocker encrypted Partition? I have a password key and the recovery of the partition encrypted by Bitlocker.
I'm not a not format the drive I deleted only the partition table and MBR.
Your help and suggestions are appreciated.

  • How can I restore my computer encrypted bitlocker to an external hard drive for bitlocker encrypted after main disk failure?

I backup that my bitlocker encrypted computer running vista ultimate on an attached USB harddrive external also encrypted by bitlocker.  I have the password both on a USB stick and written down.

You can restore to normal full image (well close to normal) just using the USB Flash drive and a hard disk formatted, white (with a system partition at least as large as the partition which it replaced)- and, of course, the backup drive.  I see no reason why a bitlocker recovery will be different - after all, it's just not added encryption process (although the exact procedure may vary because you may need to supply a password to authenticate the restore function and decrypt the files as they are restored - that's why it doesn't happen on the CD).  Of course, this means that you must have done a full image backup using bitlocker (not a full backup or a file backup).

    Good luck and I hope this helps. Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

  • How to restore vista OPS hard drive external bitlocker encrypted after main disk failure

I am running Vista Ultimate and my main hard drive is encrypted by Bitlocker.  I use the backup utility in Vista for backup of that my drive hard main set on a USB attached hard drive which is also encrypted by Bitlocker.  In a case of failure of the primary hard drive and installing a new hard drive, how can I restore my main hard drive (the new drive) to the USB attached bitlocker encrypted external hard? My vista ultimate OPS has been upgraded to the origin of vista home premium and so I did not have the ultimate Setup DVD disk.  I have the disk of vista Home premium.

Create a recovery disk that the restoration of the backup complete on this topic option (including family Vista drive premium will be not because this option is only available on the Enterprise and Ultimate versions)-should not do anything on bitlocker on it (which will take care of itself during the restore process unless you configure to use a flash drive for protection - then the flash player is also required {but) not a recovery disk different}).  You can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (including backup complete PC Restore).  Be sure to get the drive to boot correctly - there are several ways to make records and this requires a way for it to work (but those that are included in the manual or on the website).

For more information, here's a great article on bitlocker with Vista.   It does not exactly cover your question, but it is very instructive in the process and the technology (and might help you if you are facing a problem on the road) and its good information to have if you use bitlocker (which can be difficult and can cause problems of recovery if you do not just because of the extra complication of encryption (backup and restore). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.06.bitlocker.aspx.

  • How to remove encryption BitLocker on Windows 7

I have one of my drives with BitLocker encrypted in my Windows 7 (32-bit) system. Now, I'm unable to remove this encryption. How can I remove this completely drive encryption? I mean, I don't want any more of any BitLocker protection on this drive. Formatting is not an option. Waiting for an answer.

    Hello

When you turn off BitLocker, you can either disable BitLocker temporarily or to decrypt the volume. Disable BitLocker allows TPM and other minor changes module changes the system. Decrypt the volume means that the volume will be entirely decrypted, and that all the keys are ignored. You must decrypt a computer before the operating system upgrade. Once a volume is decrypted, you must generate new keys through the encryption process again once, if you want to enable BitLocker.

    Before you start

    ·         You must be logged on as administrator.

    ·         The volume must be encrypted.

To turn off BitLocker Drive encryption

    (a) click Start, click Control Panel, click Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.

    (b) from the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption goes off, and click turn off BitLocker Drive Encryption.

    (c) what level of decryption do you want the dialog box, click disable BitLocker Drive Encryption or decrypt the volume as required.

    (d) by performing this procedure, you have disabled BitLocker or decrypted the operating system volume.

If you want just a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

  • BitLocker encrypted backups

My apologies if this double job with other positions. I don't think I've seen the answer in the messages, I searched, but with my knowledge of Bitlocker, I might have seen the answer but not understood.

I want to keep a backup online disk image. I have a HP Elitebook active Bitlocker with a TPM.

What I read, Bitlocker uses strong encryption and the only dangers are social engineering or (in some cases) a black hat having physical possession of the laptop. For this reason, I would rather store the version of the backup rather than trusting the security of the online site or the backup program.

I can do it and, if so, how can I go about it?

Can I load a standalone program to backup and restore on CD and save volumes encrypted on an external drive? (In other words, is the drive encrypted in a format readable by a backup program?) Can I restore the backup encrypted on the original disc and use it as I did before, or do I have to use the Bitlocker recovery key at some point? Does make a difference if I restore a new physical drive rather than one that is currently on the computer?

Is there another method that can be better/more/easier but still accomplish the purpose of storing a Bitlocker encrypted backup?

Or is it a bad idea from the start?

    Thank you.

You might be able to do, but obviously you cannot be run simultaneously on the same system that you are backing up.  You need to boot from a USB key-CD/DVD and run a backup program.  As you said, since the entire disc is encrypted, it will not do any recognizable file for a backup program system deal with.

If I read the website, the freeware "Clonezilla" might be able to do what you want.  Because the file system is not recognized, this force the program to create a backup of your drive and your backup will be roughly the same size as your hard drive (whatever it is encrypted does not compress).  So if you have the value of a 300 GB of cloud storage (or whatever is the size of your hard drive is), it might work for you.  In addition, you may need another drive of the same size or larger than your current drive to contain the backup file until you can start on a normal file system and transfer it to the cloud.

    Clonezilla: <> http://clonezilla.org >

Of course a method much less wieldy would be to create a .zip file of only the files you need to archive and then encrypt this file .zip with GnuPG

GPG (also commercial PGP) existed for a lot longer than BitLocker (at least 20 years), was not known to be compromised and is open-source with many peers (Microsoft cannot claim that).  It uses the same algorithms as the BitLocker encryption.  I personally trust GPG me BitLocker.

    Hi guys,.
    I * Toshiba Satellite M200 laptop *.
When I formatted my hard drive and try to re - install Windows vista by using the recovery disk.
I don't get how to do the partition on it.
If I followed the process right in front there is a single drive (C:\) I found at the end of the whole process.
I tried several times but could not get the solution for it.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

You can create partitions with Windows Vista Disk Manager.
It s not able to partition with the recovery disk, but you can do it with the Vista tool easy enough.

Make a right click on my computer => manage-online Storage-online disk management
Then, you can create partitions how do you.

  • How do I encrypt a data file so that only I can retrieve the Info?

How do I encrypt a data file so that it cannot be read without permission?

I have a request where the client shouldn't have access to the data that I need to save for troubleshooting purposes.  (there are trade secrets, I want to protect)  My plan is to save a datalog (currently I produce a Spreadsheet tabs-delimited format) whenever the device is running and hide the files where they will not likely be found.  But some sort of encryption or everything at least password protection would be better.

I never tried to do this before, but thought it would be pretty easy.  Maybe I'm looking all just not in the right places.

    Thank you

Well, you could look in something like DES, Triple, ESA, etc.  It has libries lying since these writings in LabVIEW.  I'm not sure about the cost.

If you want a very simple way to protect your data, just reverse all or part of the bits in each byte of the file.  It's super simple and turns a nice ASCII text file noise when read from a text file.

I accidentally delete without backup partition table information and would like to know how to put the partition table, I can access the tools of partition table, but do not know how to define.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

The SSD could be seen in the disk management window, and you could name and set up as another hard drive internal. To create a partition or volume on a hard disk, you must be logged in as an administrator, and there must be unallocated disk space or free space in an extended hard disk partition. To repartition your hard drive, please consult the following link and check if it helps.

  • BitLocker - encrypt - decrypt cycle after the replacement of the motherboard?

After replacing the motherboard of your laptop with BitLocker encryption, the system requires a recovery key. Once inside, connect us to the system as long as decrypt it administrator local to turn off BitLocker and, once finished, activate BitLocker.

This whole process of disabling and enabling BitLocker may take up to an hour to complete, during which the laptop can not be used by the user.

Is it there anyway that we can re - initialize BitLocker, after a motherboard replacement, without all the decrypt / encrypt process?
While the time that the system cannot be used is reduced to just a few minutes?

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I am afraid that you cannot re - initialize the BitLocker after the replacement of the motherboard as the TPM secure is removed or changed. A TPM Module (TPM) is a chip that is integrated into a computer. It is used to store cryptographic information, such as encryption keys. Information stored on the TPM chip may be more secure from external software attacks and physical theft. BitLocker uses the TPM module to help protect the Windows operating system and user data and to ensure that a computer is not tampered with, even if it is left unattended, lost or stolen.

If your new motherboard does not have the required by the BitLocker TPM, you can refer to the section can I use BitLocker on an operating system without a TPM Reader? in the following article and follow the steps.
