How save/backup bookmarks in firefox 5.01?

Dear support,

Please show me how save/backup bookmarks in Firefox 5.01?
(1) on the file menu, there is only the option "Import", but no "Export" option for me to export or save my favorites.
(2) on the Favorites menu, there is no tab 'Manage a bookmark' as online help available.
Thank you.

If you press Ctrl-Shift-B to open the Bookmarks Manager, there is a tab import and backup has a backup and Export HTML option

Even on Windows 64-bit, Firefox is a 32-bit application, then your data will be used. It is easier if the version is the same on both (for example, Firefox 3.6 to 3.6, Firefox 5 to 5).

  • How to import bookmarks to Firefox Firefox OSX Win7?

How to import bookmarks from Win7 to my firefox OSX?

Firefox supports two different Exchange formats:

    • 'Backup' - fuller (like canned food tags) - JSON format once restored, replaces all existing bookmarks in the browser
    • 'Export' - compatible with other browsers - HTML format when they are imported, is added to any existing bookmarks in the browser

Check out these articles and see if you can get the bookmarks when you need:

To physically move the bookmarks file, you can use:

    • removable media such as a USB Flash drive
    • storage cloud, for example, Dropbox, or an attachment to an email to yourself

Finally, you could consider implementation service of Firefox sync if you want to keep the two Firefoxes synchronized. It is not necessary for a one-time transfer.

  • How save you bookmarks in a folder with the keyboard?

Since getting used to better organize my favorites, I have folders of bookmarks that are up to three levels deep.

How do I save a bookmark to a specific folder without having to use the mouse or click "choose...". » ?

It would be nice if there was a way to type just, with suggestions of future record.
That is, I would be able to hit Ctrl + D, type the name, press tab and type Classes\303\HW to have bookmark to this folder. Right now I can only favorite for files recently used with the keyboard.

I know that this can be done with the mouse, but I'm looking for a way fast with the keyboard, possible with a plugin of some sort.

The closest I can you would:

    Ctrl+d, Tab, Tab, spacebar

At this point you can use wildcards to accelerate up to specific files, arrow on the right to open, etc. Maybe:

    cl, right, 30, right, h

At this time, with the correct destination folder selected, you need twice Tab or SHIFT + Tab twice before Enter will present the dialog box. Not pretty.

Maybe there's an add-on which makes the process easy. Over the years, there are many related extensions, but I have not tried (or heard of) those that seem relevant to your request. I think it is worth looking at the site of modules in the Favorites category.

    Hi bibiche,.

Try hitting ctrl + b to bring up the bookmarks bar. Pressing Alt to display the older items in menu bar temporarily. You also learned to Firefox > Options > Menu bar to give Firefox a more familiar feel. Then you can access the sidebar in the bookmarks menu.

  • How can I copy bookmarks in Firefox for MAC to my Firefox in a Windows laptop?

Laptop runs Windows 7. I looked at the file in Firefox on my MAC, but was unable to find anything remotely close. The MAC and the laptop are on a wireless network. Is it possible to synchronize bookmarks over there, or what I need to find the file on the MAC, copy it to a USB key and networking the laptop disks?

    Hi Gary,

Will you continue to use computers or are you get rid of one of them? If you want to get rid of one, you should take a look at backup and restore Firefox profiles information. It will show you how to backup everything in Firefox then you can restore on your new computer.

If you have decided to keep both computers and their use, I'd take a glance at Firefox Sync. It allows you to share your data safely on your computers and keeps them synchronized.

  • How to import bookmarks from the laptop to the desktop using Firefox 38.0 on both devices?

I am currently using Firefox on my desktop or portable 38.0 and need to import my favorites of the laptop on my desk which also has Firefox 38.0. Please provide details on how to perform this procedure.

    Thank you

Pretty simple and easy, not only are there alternative methods, as is often the case in computing, but different methods produce different results.
Aid articles have more complete explanations with step by step instructions and screenshots.

You have the choice of four methods depending on what you're trying to reach. Ask you what set of bookmarks is the largest and most complex?

Import and export of the a.)
This adds bookmarks. It spikes on the existing ones. (For example, if the laptop: unsorted, folder of bookmarks and bookmarks are now additional folders in the existing desktop bookmarks menu.)
Useful to simply do what you asked: export the Favorites of the laptop and import those on the desktop.
However, if the office is new and has only a few bookmarks on it, but the laptop has the major then consider

    1. Export of the desktop as a HTML file.
    2. Backup of the laptop to create a .json file
    3. Restore the .json laptop on the desktop file.
    4. Follow-up to import HTML file
    • Office has now all the bookmarks of the laptop, as well as his own originals

    See

    (B) backup and restore
This procedure by report written all existing bookmarks. He retained the structure of folders and bookmark labels. Ideal if bookmarks of laptop are the only ones that you care. Or combine the two methods, as suggested above.

(C.) manually replace the bookmarks and the historical database.
Not what you asked but that also gets the history information.
This is useful if you often rely on the addessbar acting as the awesomebar

    (D.) sync
An alternative is to use Firefox Sync. Who should ensure that the laptop and the Office have the same bookmarks.
However if you do this save your bookmarks manually before the first sync bookmarks. I highly recommend that if synchronize you bookmarks you make regular manual backups too, because Sync itself can sometimes corrupt and duplicates of bookmarks. (If you do not notice this corruption quickly you can't have automated bookmarks that are free of corruption.)
