    This proves what I said before, on 0 and several commas commas.

    If we add these 3 rows to the sample data you posted:

    insert into names (fullname) values ("tou").

    then the query I posted earlier produced these results:

    I don't know if my sample data are too basic to be able to generate that info?

    You can do this (and many other conversions from string to a number) with analysis of the chain. %x indicates LabView input data are hexagonal. There are also a lot of string functions to a number (for example ' in hexadecimal string to the number") which could be faster if you do this 100 000 times in loop, but analysis chain will solve 99% of your problems.

    I start with the second question:

    bytes_read = ReadLine (file_handle, line_buffer, maximum_bytes);

    the second argument is the buffer to store the characters read, so it's an array of characters; It must be large enough to hold maximum_bytes the value NULL, if char [maximum_butes + 1]

    So, obviously the number of lines in your text tiles can be determined in a loop:

    Transfers on the network are not deterministic.  You ask how to use the data in a deterministic way, once it arrives on the RT system.  Usually, you would create a separate loop, not critics of time to deal with network communications.  The data arrives it is copied in real-time-safe structures such as RT-FIFO to put at the disposal of the evanescent loop.

    I can't give you specific advice on network variables and network flows; Finally, I did this kind of transfer over TCP, until these other options were available.
