How to access the spell check on email on Windows 8?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Debbie,.

Welcome to the Microsoft forums where you can find answers to your questions related to Windows.

Are you referring to the e-mail application or a different email client?

If you are referring to the Mail application, you should not activate spell separately. It will highlight the incorrect words automatically so that you can check and correct. By default, the Spell check is turned on in Windows 8 mail App. If you want to check or change this setting, you can follow these steps:

(a) press the Windows key + C, click settings

(b) click Change PC settings and select general in the left pane

(c) according to the spelling, you can start or OFF the deafult spell check.

I hope this helps. Please get back to us with more information so that we can help you better.

  • How to prevent the spell checker to automatically change the word I type?

    Hello

    I own a MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

    Processor: Intel Core i5 at 2.8 GHz
    Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    I was struggling with the spelling corrector assuming what I type is wrong and so it changes the word for another while I am always type, the result is that the mess this creates a bad word that will not be corrected because the editor already "fixed" it while "I screwed up".

    The fact is that I'm Brazilian, so my first language is Brazilian Portuguese, which uses a series of special characters such as to, a, a, a, e, e, i, o, o, o and c, Furthermore, we seem to have many more words in our vocabulary and verb time if compared to English. The corrector seems to get confused with that too, and some Word's closer to her I am writing.
    What seems to be the boss, is that in English, the feature is very useful, but when I type special characters, it assumes that this word should not be even with the input source for Brazilian Portuguese, which makes me wonder why I would fix it for my language if I have not noticed any difference at all. He gets it wrong in 90% of the time and a Word by a word it is delay my work and make me hate my computer.

    Please, don't you know any solution for this? Go to system preferences > keyboard > text and UN-checking the "correct spelling automatically" doesn't change anything, even after restarting the computer. It's stressing me out of having to correct this as the corrector mess every 5 minutes!

    Any ideas how to get rid of it?

    Thank you!

    The input source has nothing to do with spell checking and AutoCorrect.  Dictionary used for this defined under Edition > spelling and grammar > show spelling and grammar (or in the system preferences, keyboard, text, spelling).  For best results, use the dictionary for your language and not "automatic".

  • How to disable the spell checking when using facebook

    Hello. I just started using Firefox and am really impressed. I like it.

    I noticed that when you post a message on Facebook, there is a spell checker that runs and highlights words that are misspelled. I don't see this using IE9. Is it possible to disable this "spell check"?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You can enable spell check:

    • Tools > Options (Edit > Preferences in Mac and Linux)
    • On the Advanced Options tab, uncheck "check my spelling as I type".

    Alternatively inside any input text area, you just right-click and select "Check my spelling" - he should stop checking your spelling.

  • How to remove the spell check dialog box in a KeywordFilterField

    I want to create a search screen based on a KeywordFilterField.  I am modeling my solution based on the example of Blackberry KeywordFilterDemo.  In this example, they create a CustomKeywordField to enter the search string.  In my application, I'm typing I get a spellchecker any which is a dropdown menu that that obscures my TextField and I want to disable this, but have failed at this point.  The field that I use for research has the following constructor:

    static class final CustomKeywordField extends BasicEditField {}
    {CustomKeywordField()}
    Super(USE_ALL_WIDTH |) NON_FOCUSABLE | NO_LEARNING | NO_NEWLINE | NON_SPELLCHECKABLE);
    setLabel ("search :");

    I added the NON_SPELLCHECKABLE flag in an attempt to remove from the dialog box that appears.  Does anyone know how to disable this?

  • How to access the old iomega 100 files on Windows 7?

    I guess I need a current and relevant driver to allow my old drive 100 iomega to work when I plug it into my Windows 7 computer. But - Is it true? Are there? Will it work at all? What other issues should I know? I don't remember the OS, I got when I bought the drive unlike the year 1999-2001.

    Site of Iomega said the next thing that is qualified for Windows 7 32 bit: ' Zip® disks: Zip® USB, ATAPI, FireWire or SCSI 100 MB, 250 MB or 750MO drives should work with native drivers in Windows 7. " Software done IomegaWare does NOT with Windows 7, so the IomegaWare functionality will be unavailable. »

    I'm sorry my computer knowledge level is well below those of you on this site (but I am learning! is perhaps not listed here) but I have been unable to find clear assistance on the web... 'native' - so Windows 7 can simply accept the zip drive? This sounds very wrong - also Iomega may simply refer to the course Zip 100, 250, etc..

    I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 (HP Pavilion dv7): what about that qualified for both 32 and 64-bit, it has an entry for "floppy drives" with serial numbers starting with D0, that my "zip" drive does not begin with.

    I want to do this by myself, but with any of your comments, it can be clear, that I need to take the reader to a computer repair store. I hesitate just give it a go with other information for fear that something is very wrong with my computer.

    I appreciate your help on behalf of quite novice. Thank you.

    Can I find a friend with an XP system and attach the drive to him. You may need to install the drivers (which you would get from Iomega site). You can uninstall them later. Reattach the drive, copy your files into the XP box, burn the files to CD/DVD-R. Buy your friend a beer. :-)

    Note: If you get the same problem on XP with all disks, then the drive has probably failed. Then you have to find someone who still has a USB Iomega Zip drive. Some technicians will always have them. I have one on my shelf - have not used in years, but I keep it just in case a customer is your problem.

    A spell checker is not a part of Windows. It is usually part of a
    program such as a word processor, or an e-mail program.

    There are also third-party stand-alone programs that you can download
    and install, but it is difficult to recommend one any of them, unless you
    Tell us where you want to use a spell checker.

  • How can I get the spell checker to work on emails?

    New computer. Using Mozilla Thunderbird for email but the spell checker does not work.

    Do you have a dictionary installed or selected? (See attached image).

    You have activated the spell under Tools | Options of| Composition | The spelling?

    You can also download a dictionary in the settings pane opened by the latter sense, but the link it provides is almost certainly open in Thunderbird. At some point, it of better with the right button and select 'Open in browser' and it will re - open in your default browser. From there, you can download. I would recommend you right click on the proposed link, use "Save as" and download it. You can then drag the file downloaded from the window modules modules of Thunderbird, or use the small button to the left of the search box in the window.

    I was typing merrily along and noticed a typo in the fact that the fault of strike was NOT highlighted in red wavy underlines. Hmmmm, I thought.
