Now, I noticed (a week later) is not longer to come, but goes straight to the log in page. More research says that this feature is available only in windows 8 Professional. I don't have the professional version then how this lock screen changed.   I looked at the specs from your laptop to a lot of Web sites. Yours is not a portable touchscreen.  In a notebook of the touch screen the screen has two main parts. Upgrade of the screen, so it works will be quite expensive.

  The internet said that I should check the box with use your finger as an input device option. But as you can see from the screenshot I included, there is no option for me to do. What can you propose to solve this problem, the touch screen no matter where just gives no response or comments, it does not work.

  Last night I did the reset complete back to factory settings... erase all files and reinstall Windows 8.1.  It took several hours.  It did not touch screen feature.  I also tried pressing F2 at startup and running the diagnostics on all of the touch screen.  He failed and gave me an error code.  As the computer is still under warranty (I don't have possession for another week yet), I talked to HP technical support on live chat and gave him the error code.  He said he must be sent to HP for service.  Since I live on a military base that, he told me that I must call their number of military sales to the United States.  When I called them, they were closed.  I won't and I'll try to return it to the base exchange where I bought it.  Thanks for trying to help me solve this problem.  I guess that's just DOA.

  I also saw that this laptop has preinstalled software touch screen. Play a little with it and in the worst cases try to reinstall. You can find version 2.01.0020 page of Australian download for your laptop model.

  I looked through various positions through the forums, but have not found how to activate the wide screen on a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 resolutions.
  The 2 following wires offer partial answers:

  The solution in the 2nd post won't work because the A10 has an Intel graphics card, not a Nvidia. He suggested also, modify the INF of the graphics driver, but to extract the driver (SA10B2DP.exe) file includes an installer, but no INF.

  Just look to see if anyone has any advice on how to activate the resolutions such as 1440 x 900 or 1680 x 1050.

  you mean on the external screen, Don t you? If you have an intel chipset graphic why Don t you download the drivers from the website of intel.
  Maybe it offers a resolution of the external display.

  I don't know if the res external can be set to widescreen on this chipset as the drivers are somewhat limited...
  Can you describe what monitor you have and how you connect it to your machine. (d-sub or DVI)?
