How to back up and restore e-mail messages (apart from all save on my hard drive)?

A simple and easy to use solution is needed to put the emails into folders in an easy to get to the place on a backup drive AND to return them, in Thunderbird, when reinstalling after, for example, move to a new computer (replacement) OR recover that vital e-mail you have deleted since the last backup.

There is an add-on to tuberculosis, which allows the import and export of emails in different formats on a separate storage medium (external drive, USB key, etc.).

You will find instructions on how to download and install it in http://barryduggan.info/exportMail.php
Use a format which can be imported later.

  • How to back up and restore the system and program files to install new OS

    Hey all,.

I recently bought a new Toshiba 1 TB HARD drive. My old WD 1 TB HARD drive was giving me the end. occasionally, I get the BSOD. In addition, on occasion, when I restart the computer it automatically runs chkdsk program and reported several bad clusters. However the chkdsk program never seems to report the bad clusters, so periodically, when I restart, it runs and bring back them again.

I would like to the image or to back up all the files on my HARD drive problem, then do a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit (my current operating system) to the new HARD disk, and then restore the clone or image system and program files on the new HARD drive. I don't want to go through the process of reinstall all again, when everything seems to work very well. Given that the image of Win 7 program makes and accurate picture of the HARD drive, then use this program would cause the new installation of Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit to be replaced by the restoration of the image. Therefore, if there should be corrupted data under a bad cluster of old HARD drive, that data would not be transferred and my existing problem would be transferred to the new HARD drive.

On the other hand, if I do a clone of disc, I'm not sure that existing programs would continue to operate on the new HARD drive and would require a new install of each program based on the new installation of the operating system Win 7! I would have then lost my time to make a transfer of program/data files to my newly formatted and freshly installed OS.

Anyone know of any program (Acronis True Image, Paragon, Norton Ghost, Macrium Reflect, etc) that will allow you to image or clone the program and data (including the operational needs of the files such as: Win32 system files, files of activation, etc.) so that they will work properly on the new installation of the operating system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

  • How to back up and restore Office 2013 product key or registration / activation file

Warning:  I posted this on Microsoft several 'community support Sites' and if I have yet to have a real Microsoft tech support address the question of the MAN, several 'MVP', but nobody has yet come with an entirely feasible answer, although they tried. One of the guys who posted something (after that I showed him proof that there is such a thing as a Dell OEM version supplied to MS Office Home & Business 2013 - originally, there was no such animal) was that I should "go back to Dell and ask them" so here I am. My original message is copied and pasted below...

I myself have read almost blind in the last 3 days and several hours now and I still cannot get to a definitive answer so I'll rephrase the question: How can I be save the Home Office & Business 2013 'activation file"(or token) or discover and extract the full product key for it?  After that I upgraded my Windows 8.1 Professional (32-bit) Dell to win 10 Pro I had horrible crash problems. It is obvious that I have to reformat and start from scratch. I managed to get the 10 Pro Windows product key using the latest version of Belarc Advisor but I'm hit a brick wall on my installation of Office Home & Business 2013. Not only is the Dell OEM version but I had to go through Microsoft once to get a new (replacement) product because of a problem earlier, key and since it is the OEM version there is no trace of it on "my account / Office products ' Microsoft page. apparently if you don't buy the commercial version, the product key is not registered there (but it is fully registered and operational, of course). Per this Microsoft article https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Find-your-Office-product-key-after-installation-026bc81b-6b2f-4052-b433-f41e6cc31c5a?CorrelationId=ca7068f2-6a47-4d71-942c-10591d4b00ec&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US and the Belarc program I can (and subsequently have) found the last 5 characters of the Key but that's not going to do me any good after the re-install unless I have the rest of them. I also tried all the other "key finder" programs suggested in countless other articles and none of them can find the key to the Office Home & Business 2013, or I couldn't do it in hacking / record research.  Simply, I can't believe that Microsoft has not made a provision for backup then restore a specific file "token" with the necessary info in it or extract the necessary key Code so that the Bureau could be reinstalled in the current scenario.  If all goes well a MS employee or some other Expert of the Office can provide concrete information, step by steps on how to do it.  Thanks in advance.

I sincerely hope that the other guys on the Microsoft Forums sent me in the right direction here; as the pesky Key Code for office 2013 has got to be stored in an accessible location (it is not on any Microsoft server that is accessible by our end users, that's for sure) and there must be some program or methodology around there to recover and decode the thing so it may be reinstated when the program is reinstalled...

Desktop licenses Dell would have came on a map of MPI:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Office/Microsoft-product-identity-MPI-card/

    http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN155139/en

This is the only place you will get your key. Finders key as Advisor of Berlarc do not give the full product key 25 digits unlike Office 2010 and earlier versions.

Main finders are useless for Windows 10 family as the free update uses based device activation and key finders will signal a generic product key. See here:

  • How to back up and restore the ESXi settings regularly?

    People,

Can someone please let me know how and what is the best way to save the existing running 5.1 U3 regularly ESXi servers so that when the host has failed, I can restore of plain vanilla install of the ESXi server without having to worry about reconfiguring the Distributed Switch Settings & storage?

If the process can be automated which would be awesome as well.

    Thank you.

If you are running Enterprise vCenter Server so your best bet is probably using Host Profiles. You can create a profile to join a whole cluster (if your hosts are cookie-cutter) or create one for each host (if they are quite unique). You can export the profiles from the host to the files somewhere else for backup if you are afraid of losing the vCenter.

These allow you to build a new host from scratch, attach to vCenter and configure everything (up to the vDS, domain join, politics of security/firewall, etc.). Very useful feature IMO.

  • How to back up and restore snapshots?

    Hey geniuses,.

Must I increase the size of the disk of a VM XP under Fusion. It seems that I have to delete all the snapshots before I can manipulate the disk size in the settings. I want to save these snapshots however and have them available for use in the future.

Can I just copy the package files in a different folder on the MAC, delete stereotypes by the merger of interface and copy the files to the package VM, if I need to go back to one of the photographs in the future? Or y at - it another way to save those snaps if I need a day?

    Thank you very much

    Tony Costa

    [email protected]

It seems that I have to delete all the snapshots before I can manipulate the disk size in the settings.

Fix. Note you will also need to expand the partition on the disk.

Can I just copy the package files in a different folder on the MAC, delete stereotypes by the merger of interface and copy the files to the package VM, if I need to go back to one of the photographs in the future?

N ° incremental snapshots are, they rely on previous changes. If you change the basic disk, snapshots are no longer valid.

    See also http://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2008/11/vmware-fusion-3.html

Or y at - it another way to save those snaps if I need a day?

With the merger and the virtual machine does not, I would just make a backup of the entire virtual machine.

  • I backed up and restored Firefox but my passwords will not restore

I followed the instructions on how to back up and restore my Firefox profile (that I had to do after a full restore of the system), however, my passwords have not been restored. My Favorites are all here, but the "Saved passwords" box is completely empty. Is there a way I can restore?

Try creating a new profile as a test to check whether your profile is the source of the problem.
Copy the logins.json and signons3.txt in this profile to see if it works.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.
