How to boot from SD card on Satellite Pro S300?

My windows 7 32 bit based has S300 to a card reader build in SD. The Toshiba utility for making the bootable SD card comes with an error message indicating fault: 00-61-FF02-26.
Is not see and recognize the card.
In the BIOS version 3.00 VICTORY is also not possilility for booting from SD card.

The SD card can be formatted and you can read and write to the card.

Why is this not possible?

> The Toshiba utility for making the bootable SD card...
Now to maybe stupid question, but what is the name of this utility?

As far as I know, computers laptop Toshiba cannot use the SD card as a bootable media and SD slot cannot be used as boot device.

How you configure boot on A500-o25 order, so that it starts from USB first.

    Hello

Enter the Bios by pressing F2 at startup, go to the start menu and choose the USB drive as first boot device (you navigate with the F5 and F6 keys). Press F10, and... Save and exit menu, is displayed, press ok. That's all.

Note, I have my satellite A500 connect the computer before turning on Usb flash, otherwise the usb flash drive does not appear in the boot menu in Bios

  • Satellite Pro S300 - HDD in caddy is not recognized by BIOS

I replaced the original HARD drive and installed a new SSD that works very well.
Installed the W7Pro and all updates.

I do not use my burner so I replaced the CD drive and installed a shopping cart with my old HDD to have more disk space.

When I start my laptop, I see a message of ERROR of CD-ROM.
In Device Manager the caddy and or the HARD drive is not displayed.

I tried to change settings in the BIOS (according to Toshiba utility the latest version), but even in the Bios is no information about this SSD or HARD drive installed. (or the CD player when I re - install this drive again)

What's not here? Do I need a BIOS updated allowing the 2nd HARD drive?
Or if I forget a setting somewhere?

NB in the BIOS HARD drive drive settingis according to ACPI, the list below it is referred to as IDE device.
When I enter the BIOS IDE instead of ACPI, I still see the CD-ROM ERROR when starting and after this message, the screen is blue and no other activity.

    > Or if I forget a setting somewhere?

To my knowledge, not all laptops support a 2nd HDD rather than the ODD (optical disc)

Also, not all CD/DVD drives are compatible and could be used for all laptops.

So agree with the user above and I think it's the problem of compatibility also.

  • How to boot from a USB - Portege R500 flash drive

    Hello

I have a Portege R500 running Windows XP, presented about 2 years ago and recently contracted a virus that has infected some of the startup files as the minute I connect it disconnects again, even in SafeMode! The quickest way I can think sorting is to reformat with the XP Recovery disk and reinstall windows.

Problem! The CD/DVD drive on the computer laptop stopped working earlier, tried almost everything in the thread on this site, but had no luck.

So my plan was to boot from a USB flash drive and do it this way. However in the boot parameters I only have the options of HARD drive / floppy drive / CD-ROM / LAN, none of them work. Does anyone know how to boot from USB flash drives?

Any help would be really appreciated

    Hello

As far as I know, it should be possible to boot from USB FDD

I don't know if you would be able to boot from a USB flash drive, but it of certainly worth a try m

Generally, you can try to press the F12 key when the laptop is turned on.
A start menu should appear on the screen, then you should see all bootable devices.

PS: as far as I know the USB startup was available in ToshibaHWSetup (tool of Toshiba which changes the settings of the BIOS under windows OS.) So I guess boot from USB must be possible.

  • BIOS boot from SDHC cards?

I'm putting an Arch Linux installation on a 32 GB SDHC card. I am able to install the required files, but for some reason I can't the SDHC card is displayed in the start menu and UEFI does not seem to work. Of course, I did have luck with UEFI boot on the W530 for some reason any. I can get UEFI work very well on my desk, but not lucky on the W530 of ordinary hard drives or my SDHC card.

The W530 will recognize and boot from SDHC cards who have GRUB installed on them? So far, I have had no luck with that. The card never appears in the start menu. I can't even start the installer images. Boot from USB works fine.

I don't think that the BIOS, he accepts as boot device. You could call something, however.

  • Fully operational GPS on Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g card

    Hello

Some good news. I have the GPS works entirely on the Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g 3 G card. I think that the measures to make operational work on any Toshiba laptop with the same card.

It requires new 3G Toshiba drivers for the card that exposes the COM7 GPS port, some trick with the COM port for the card out of the location data (this would have been done by a Toshiba application if they support the GPS), then it will work with any application that supports GPS.

I used the land bridge to verify this works and this allows tracking on Google Earth, see [image here | http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2262/earthbridgepd2.png] (note that I blanked my exact location because it locates my front door). This signal was achieved with the laptop near a window.

What I plan to do is to make a small application to enable or disable the GPS receiver and will post some instructions on how to address all this, which is quite easy other cunning of Com port that I hope, I can make do with a small, free program.

    Concerning

  • Satellite Pro S300 - how to enter the supervisor password?

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro S300-11 years and have a problem. One day, I decided that wanted to put a password for the supervisor to the bios of the laptop. Now, I remember this password, but when I have access to the BIOS Setup, I can't watch any o change option disable this password. I can't enter this password to set me a supervisor, and also I can't change some options with respect to the example, the boot sequence.

How can I remove this password or how do I log in as a supervisor? I see no option for this, and I need to change the boot sequence.

    A big thank you.

    Hello

On this that I can only say, check your user manual! ;)

There, I created the following information:
    + C:\Program Files\Toshiba\PassowrdUtility\TOSPU.exe+
+ This utility allows you to do the following: +.
+ Register, remove, or change the supervisor password.
+ Create or cancel a supervisor password token +.

Check this and then you should be able to remove the password if you know the current.

  • How to install the driver LAN for Satellite Pro A120

In fact, my problem is that I didn't know how to install the driver on my Satellite Pro A120 lan connect net throug.
The issue that there's no facility to do to complete the installation.

And theres other question that I need the Ethernet controller

My laptop was vista operating system installed, but I change and put Windows XP

    Please help me

    Hello

    LAN installation is very easy.
First of all, you need the correct LAN driver.
In order to download the LAN driver please visit the Toshiba driver page and choose your model of laptop.

Once the LAN driver has been downloaded, you will need to decompress.
Then you will need to access the Device Manager, choose the controller Ethernet (network cards) and must point to the place where the LAN driver was decompressed.

    Then finish the installation procedure.

  • Satellite Pro S300 - how do I uninstall TrueSuite to install Win 7 Win 8

I put my Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 from Windows 7 to Windows 8 at level and I am stuck at the point where I need to uninstall first TrueSuite Access Manager.

It is not listed under programs and features, so I can't uninstall it from there.

I downloaded util_tam_uninstall_TC00240000B.exe and run it without success.

    Any suggestions?

    > It does not appear in programs and features, so I can't uninstall it from there.

I can't believe that if the utility is installed, it should appear in the box programs and features.
On the other hand also the fingerprint driver is installed
So, you can check if you need to uninstall the driver of the fingerprint of the Device Manager.
