How to change my motherboard without messing up my Windows XP install?

I use windows xp professional, licensed version. My motherboard is now out of use. I want to change it without disturbing my version of windows update. How can I do? Should I I installed windows XP again and update again? Is there another way that my motherboard is accepted and I can installed its driver once windows xp has started?

I had two experiences with this. The first is a motherboard Asus A7S333 who died.  The processor, Ram and all other parts were always very good. I bought the Board model number identical on eBay, FLAC in every room and booted up without any problem whatsoever.  (I did a walk in double as SC Tom suggests to you).

It turns out that particular motherboard is a piece of .  Or I arrived just to get two bad one in a row.  In any case, the replacement motherboard died about a year later and then I abandoned in a mother ABit IS7 with an Intel processor and added all my other original pieces.  As I expected, my XP Pro required then reactivation.  I clicked on the link to do this and it worked perfectly.

How to change the extensions on several files with Windows 7?

You hear no doubt, is that your movie software will only recognize certain types of image file formats.  If this is the case, you will need to reformat format files to any format PNG is recognizable by the software.

Rather than we guess, please identify your «film» software

Download and install IrfanView, which is a free utility for images.  http://www.IrfanView.com/

IrfanView has the ability to read a great many formats of image files.  It can also convert image files formats.  And even better - for you - it can do all these things on a batch of files.

As test, after I installed IrfanView, open one of your PNG files.  Now click on file > save as, and select the 'Save as Type' to be little matter the file type of your movie software will accept.  Save the file.  Make sure your movie software can accept the new file.

Once you are convinced that you can modify files that you have in a format that you can use, use IrfanView

File > Batch Conversion/Rename command.  If necessary, see IrfanView help on this topic.

I tried to find it in the BIOS options is not there

It is probably not possible to change it if it is in the lock settings.  A possible solution would be to connect the drive to another computer that can be set in IDE mode.  Frankly, I'm skeptical about the value of HDD regenerator.  If the drive has bad sectors, it is best to replace it.

    Please help me

I use windows 7 ultimate service pack 1 and I am the administrator

    I forgot my login password.

There are many options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
    • Ask your friendly computer dealer to reset the password for you

The method with sethc.exe works also, but it is complex and requires several additional steps. Carefully pass by with each of them?

  • How to change the INITIAL_EXTENT without re-creating the table

    Hi all:

So far, we have several table with huge data.
And after that we import these table to our test environment.
We need to truncate the table first.
But we found that the initial_extent is also attributed to a huge block.
So far, the only way that we know is drop table and recreate the table.

But because we have many table should do the same thing.
I have no thing drop/create table is a good way.

Is there a better way to release these space?

    Thank you

No, unfortunately, a TRUNCATE and MOVE don't reset the INITIAL report.

TRUNCATE and MOVE reset the size. Or they change the initial report. SHRINK resets the actual size without changing the initial "defined."

This is the behavior if a table (or index, too, I think) was created with an INITIAL size.

  • Equium A60-155 died - how to change the motherboard?

    Hello

A week ago, I used my laptop Equium A60-155, I turned it off for the night. The next morning, he lights up no battery or AC, the lights on the front of the LT do not come on either.

I tested the AC and it is very much pushing the 14.8V.

On another forum suggested to abolish the HD to see if that would help (it didn't).

So it might be that the MOBOs dead (in which case I'll have to buy a new one when I get a job, or internal theers fuse who jumped (if it exists).)

If there is an internal fuse can I replace it myself and what is? (I'm on a job and can not afford the repair costs, some charge 70 Quid to pick it up, and another Bill 110 quid + parts)

I guess it's just a matter of undoing the screws on the bottom?

    Hello

I suggest also to contact the ASP in your country, because he can do a diagnostic test and can give you a detailed response.
Maybe you n t need to change the Board of Directors, and perhaps only the part low cost has a failure.
But to find out the laptop must be verified.
