How to change the public network to a network of home in 64-bit windows 7

Windows 7 cannot access internet by WiFi card because the net work must be changed to a home network. How do I change, even the troubleshooting cannot make the change. How can I do it manually change it?

Hello

1. were you able to use the card wireless without any problem before?
2. what exactly happens when you try to access the internet?
3 did you recent hardware or software changes to your computer before this problem?

Stage of change of the network location:

a.Open network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, thenControl Panel. In the search box, type network, and then clicknetwork and sharing Center.
b work network, home network, or Public, and then click the desired network location.

  • You cannot change the ID network of home-based business

I'm changing my network ID of a network of home-based business, but after I restarted my computer it comes back constantly as company.

    Hello Hector,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. Your system has already been connected to a network domain?
    3. What is the edition of Windows 7, you use?

The question arises after the restart, if your system does not have the authorization of the user to change the location of the network. To diagnose and solve the problem, I suggest you try the following steps:

    Method 1:

You can also perform network troubleshooting that might help us diagnose the problem better.

Access the link for more information on troubleshooting network below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

The question may also be due to the user permissions are not available to change the location of the network. You can try the following steps and change the following settings.

    1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc in the search box and press ENTER. This step opens the local Group Policy Editor.
(Click Yes if you are prompted.)
    2. Expand Computer Configuration, expand Windows settings, Securitysettings, expand network list manager policies, and then double-click network in the right window.
    3. Go to the network location tab, then click on user can change location under the section user permissions.
    4. Click OK , and then close the Group Policy Editor.
    5. Restart the computer.

Note: The steps above are valid for Windows 7 Professional, full and business editions.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to change the ID ID/monitor display or erase display ID/Monitor ID Windows 7

Have a problem that sometimes appears.

Setting up workstations to work with multiple display monitors, its part of my job...

The real ID monitors get Windows isn't usually a problem, most programs can adapt to the windows settings and fine.

BUT some of the systems we run sends commands and tips based on the actual number of the display, the number which appears on the screen when you click on the button "identify" in the Office/display-settings of the control panel.

Allows to call the ID of display equipment

the computer, or windows remember display´s EDID and stores the monitors already plugged into a list?

If I installed the monitors/screens in the order correct, everything is good and works as we wanted.

Then, it happens a brakes display or switch place for a reason, or perhaps a driver update resets the display list and windows starts now monitors in the wrong order.

the monitor 1 want to have HW - ID 1 to now HW - ID 2, and everything is false, messages and orders now find themselves on the wrong display.

    We have 3 options.

    1. fix the HW - ID display

2 - re - configure the system and what it includes and hope that he will not return to the display switch change or updated driver.

3 - re - install windows and hope that it shows the correct ID and continue with client applications and so on.

I discovered that it is stored somewhere in the REG-Edit, but it is impossible to find the right place

After talking to HP, they do not support such things... try windows-problem, with a clean install... c - my I switched to a screen!

Tried to clean facilities of AMD and Nvidia driver for graphics cards, worked for a time, until I restarted the machine, back to square one...

    Then they ponited at Microsoft.

After talking to Microsoft Support they do not support such things...

I don't have the skills, but I can't be a problem with a script that removes the EDID reg-edit list after a reboot?

then it would be not so complicated, simply:

Unplug everything except the display that you want to be number 1
    Run the script

    reset

connect the display 2 and so on?

    Hello

I understand that you are not connected to the domain. But it seems you're a developer and you try to change the logical numbers of monitors/screens. This is why it would be better suited in MSDN Community.

  • How will I know if my Airport Extreme has the latest firmware?  And (not related) how to change the password used to connect to my network?

I think I bought the latest version of Airport Extreme.  It is the unit which is rectangular, is about 6 to 7 w., etc.  I have some basic questions that I do not understand:

    1. How will I know if I have the latest firmware for this device?  I read a few posts that make it sound as if it was just automatically updates.  Is this true?

    2. can someone tell me how to change the password used to connect to my wireless network?

    Thank you very much!

    Chris

If a firmware update is available, AirPort Extreme flashes orange.

The most up-to-date version of the firmware is 7.7.3.

You can see what version you currently have the following on your Mac...

Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Extreme

    Look for the Version

If the new firmware was available, you will see a button update here

To change the wireless network password...

Click on edit in the window smaller than you watched just to check the firmware version

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the next window

Go back / change the wireless password and enter a new password

Do the same thing to check

Click Update at the bottom right of the window and give the airport a minute full for restart

  • How to change the security settings on a wireless network

I would change the existing network security settings to WPA2, AES, or at least from TKIP AES.

I am familiar with access via browser to the router and how to change the settings of the router.

My question is how to make this as painless as possible for the network.  Step by step would be great

First of all, I guess I have to change the settings of the router using the computer running Easy Link Advisor?

Do I then have to disconnect/reconnect this computer?

Do I have to unplug all the other computers and then sign in again with the update settings?

The change of security settings affect my print server?  If so, I put up from scratch in ELA?

For the record, I have a WRT 300N and the print server is a 54g.

Anyone who reads this can also focus on recent news.  Maybe not a big deal, but a WPA/TKIP vulnerabilities has been identified.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

If you change the router's wireless security settings, it will affect all devices that connect wireless to the router. To change the settings, simply set until you want on the web interface of the router. Save the settings. You need not link to that Advisor. Direct access to the web interface of the router is sufficient and preferable.

All devices configured to connect to this network should ask if they connect more. It depends on type of what you had before. If you have not used WPA2 or WPA before having to ask for the password. If you used the WPA or WPA2 with the same password that they cannot even ask the password. How it works in detail with a specific wireless device depends on the device and the software you use. Some devices may require you to first remove the network wireless in the list of "preferred networks" and then reconnect.

Check the manual of the print server how to configure for the new security settings. You should be able to reconfigure the print server through a web interface. First, it is probably best to change the settings on the print server and then make the change on the router. Otherwise, you may have a hard time, connection to the print server to make the change. In addition, depending on how old the print server is that it cannot even support WPA2 and AES.

  • Change the public Interface on Clusterware

    Hello

I have a node RAC 4 10.2.0.3 under RedHat Linux AS 3. Recently I noticed that eth0 on one of the departures nodes up and down for short periods of time. If this happens long enough it affects connections established for her etc.

I'm afraid that the network card is about to fail, because this material is old enough. The machine has 2 other NICs unused on it and I want to change the public interface the clusterware uses one of these ex eth2.

I know how to do, is using oifcfg, but my question is. If I change the interface on node 4 ex $ORA_CRS_HOME/bin/oifcfg setif-eth2/192.168.1.0:public overall, this would amount to this public interface uses eth2 to node 4 or 3 elsewhere. Just to be clear, I would like to than the other 3 nodes to always use their interface public current IE eth0.

    Thanks in advance.

You must have the same interface name on all nodes to the public. You could ensure that the other card on the 4 node becomes eth0.

  • How to change the keyboard on Portege M300-101?

    Hello

I have a Portege M300-101, and I would like to know if there are instructions online for how to change the keyboard itself. Our unit comes with, I think, a Belgian keyboard installed... and a U.S. keyboard in the box. Are there instructions available for how to move on the keyboards? Also, I guess it's a good idea to switch the keyboard before turning on the laptop for the first time. Do you agree?

    Best,
    Dainis W. Michel

    Hello Danis

Unfortunately there is no public document on this subject. You can try to do it alone, but please don t forget that on this guarantee valid path will be cancelled. Basically, the replacement of keyboard is not well complicated and technicians may need 15 minutes to do.

In my opinion, you can take a risk and pay for replacement before losing the valid guarantee. The Portege is very expensive and of damage to property, it is very risky to be unsecured.

If you still think that you do not write anything again.

  • Windows Vista Firewall: Uncheck basic network layout would make my computer more secure on the Public network?

I use the Public network a lot.  I noticed that on my Windows Vista firewall, Core Networking is checked on by default.  Unchecking it would make my computer more secure on the Public network?  I already checked in my firewall settings, block all incoming connections.  Regarding security, I run MSE, like Spyware Blaster in the background.  Automatic updating and Malware Protection are on.  My other security settings are OK.  I do not understand why Core Networking is checked on by default.  This would make an open port, right?  Unchecking it would make my computer more secure?  Thank you.

    Hello

If you uncheck Core Networking IPv4 and IPv6 will be unreliable or blocked.

You have a router, a firewall (today, most have them) which is excellent protection

  • How to change the ip address of the printer

How can I change the ip address that windows searches for what concerns my printer wireless?

My printer continues to change its ip address that is to say yesterday that the address is 192.168.0.2 and now it's 102.168.0.5, and whenever he does, windows does not include only and that he keeps trying to print address ip to wring the origin install me the printer as a new one from the new ip address give me two of the same printers when I watch devices and printers.
I would like to know just how to change the ip address that is referenced to the printer rather than install them separately as a new printer.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I always prefer to set a static IP address for the network printers to avoid this kind of problem.   Depending on the brand of printer, this can be done by using the printers Panel (see networking options in the menus), or there may be a web interface, you can open in a browser.  Assigned address must be in the correct subnet but outside the DHCP in your router address.  Once assigned, specify this address in the settings of the printer on each workstation.
You have not given any information re. the printer or your network and router model, so I can't be more specific than that, but it's the best general solution of this question.
