How to change Vista Basic to Windows XP Home SP2 on Satellite A200-1CR edition?

Hello

Since a few days, I bought a Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR. I am very satisfied with the laptop, although I do not work for Vista Home Basic Edition, because it is not to support the programs of the sum, so I change my operating system from Vista Home Basic to Windows XP SP2 home edition.

If I prefer to reformat the laptop and install Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit or 64-bit, not sure yet).
However I do not know if I have to do something special for him, because it's my first laptop I have and I haven't had that one time a laptop with drivers on a CD. Now I m operating system, I think I need a driver s disc switching.

If I changed vista to XP is there any software support?
Vista for XP service pack2 change possible or not?
Someone help me. If changing the operating system where I can get the driver software?

Hello

Yes, you can install Windows XP SP2.

There are two things you need to be aware of:

(1) you need a SATA of F6 driver on a floppy disk when installing XP. Otherwise XP does not detect the SATA HDD. Search for "SATA" of this section, it is already been covered several times.

(2) after installing XP, you should download and install the XP A200 drivers from the Toshiba Europe Support/Drivers site

  • Change operating system from Vista to Windows XP Home on my Satellite A200

I want to change my OS from Vista to Windows XP Home on my Satellite A200... once I downloaded the complete drivers compatible with XP I updated my version of BIOS to be compatible, then when I started the formatting procedure I've countered a problem when I want to choose the format of the hard drive... which is "no hard drive drivers were found.

If anyone can help please :) Thank you.

    Hello

The problem is that you must install the SATA driver (among others) in the XP operating system!
You will use the FDD USB external (floppy) drive or you will create a new Win XP CD using the freeware tool called nLite (google for nLite get details).

In addition, after the installation of the SATA driver you shouldn't t format the HARD drive because it would wipe out the SATA driver and the HARD drive will not be recognized!

  • BIOS with Vista and Windows XP Home on a Satellite A200

    Hello
I saw there are different bios version depending on the operating system.
My laptop is a Satellite A200-PSAE6. The bios for Windows XP Home edition version is 5.30 and 1.70 for Vista.
I would like to use XP or Vista on my laptop. Both are installed.
Should which bios I use? Are there similar?

    See you soon,.
    Ano

If you use Windows XP Home on your Satellite A200 do BIOS update with the version 5.30. This BIOS is designed for all Windows XP Home edition features and you will be able to use all the features of FN keys.

  • Need drivers of Windows XP Home for my Satellite A200 - 1HU

I need all drivers for Windows XP Home for my Satellite A200-1HU PSAE3E-01J014AV.

Windows XP Home for Satellite A200 drivers are not available for the moment. Visit the page of help from time to time to see if the drivers are added.

In the meantime, you can optimize pre-installed Vista OS. I did the same thing and A200 works well.

  • can I downgrade from windows Vista Basic to windows xp home sem

I have windows vista home basic system. can I go down to windows xp home edition.

    Hello

There is NO right to downgrade from Vista Home Basic to XP.

You need Vista Business or Vista ultimate for this.

If you want XP, see if your computer manufacturer has XP drivers available for your laptop computer/computer model.

If the XP drivers are available for this purpose, Microsoft sells more than XP, so you should have to take the risk of buying a pirated software on the Net, which is not recommended at all.

If there is no XP drivers, XP would not work correctly in all cases.

    See you soon.

    Hello

There are several hardware platforms for Satellite A200. It begins with the easiest and ends with the best hardware configuration. I noticed that Toshiba offers not drivers of Windows XP Home edition for each of them at the same time, but it starts with these books with more simple hardware configuration.

Full support WXP A200 is not finished and it's just a matter of time when the drivers for your laptop will be offered.

  • Need drivers of Windows XP Home for my Satellite A200-1FL

I would like to know if I can use all the drivers for the Satellite A200-1FL for Windows XP Home edition, because I need to install Windows XP Home edition on my laptop as soon as possible.

I can't find any of them on the Toshiba download page.

Of course, you can install XP on your laptop.
The question is only; If you will be able to use all the features of Toshiba.

Well, I read only on the key issue of the FN after installing XP. But everything else must run and function properly.

Satellite A200-1FL belongs to the PSAE6 series. You should choose this series if you want to download and install all the XP drivers.

  • How to install Windows XP Home SP2 to a Dell 755 Tower comes with Vista Business installed?

    OK guys,

I aquried a used Dell 755 minitower that had wiped HARD drive, but originally shipped with Vista Business installed o/s. This computer still had the sticker code product key for Vista Business on the computer.

I have a Windows XP Home SP2 OEM disc with a product code and tried to install it on this computer, but I get an protection windows with a blue screen error whenever I tried.

I have a Vista Home OEM disk basic with its own key code product. The computer has allowed me to install this operating system, but not would allow me to use its product key code, but would allow me to use the old Vista Business key product code that was on the computer and complete the installation. Everything was fine, but I just don't like Vista o/s and I would like to install my OEM Windows XP Home SP2 to this computer and high grade it to SP3.

In dealing with this computer, I discovered it would allow me to load Windows XP Pro just find, but I was using a copy borrowed this o/s and had to uninstall if I could return it to its owner. I also borrowed a copy of Windows 7 OEM I installed in this machine and it works just fine, but I had to uninstall it to return to its owner.

I still want to know why I can't install Windows XP Home Edition for this machine.  Does anyone have information about this situation or a way to solve it?

    Btk (billy the kid)

Looks like the drive you borrowed your friend had a SATA driver integrated into it.  What you can do, is go into the BIOS and change the AHCI to IDE mode.  This should allow you to install XP.  Or you could use a floppy disk and install the driver by pressing f6 during installation.

Don't forget: OEM keys are related to the original motherboard enabled on.

  • Unable to upgrade to Windows Vista Basic to Windows XP on hp pv6000

    Original title: upgrade

upgrade vista basic to windows xp on hp pv6000 and my wireless is not wrking nor showing in my taskbar please help

    Hello

Vista to XP is a downgrade!

After installing XP, did you get XP drivers on HP website? See...

    http://WWW8.HP.com/UK/en/support-drivers.html

.. .to locate your particular model, then download and install the XP drivers (if there no, no guarantee if your PC comes with Vista originally).

I tried the model number you gave, but there are 41 possible matches, so I think that pv6000 is a "series" rather than a specific model number.
